Christopher Schwarzenegger says he had 'tried everything' to lose weight

Perth Now13-05-2025

Christopher Schwarzenegger had "tried everything" to lose weight.
The son of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria Shriver has managed to shed 30 pounds in recent times, and even though it took a lot of "trial and error", he knew he had to do it after his previous size stopped him from partaking in a skiing vacation.
He told US TV show 'Extra': "I tried everything. I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school.
"It's not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day... when you're saying, oh, before-and-after photos... I don't feel like I'm an after yet. I don't feel like I'm at the point.
"I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal], like, 'Oh, I'm going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,' and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.
"I was like, 'I want to go skydiving.' And my friends were like, 'Yeah, no shot.' I was like, 'Yeah, I can't skydive'.
Christopher - who works as the Director of Development at Indus Valley Media whilst his brother Patrick stars in 'White Lotus' and his sister Katherine is married to Hollywood actor Chris Pratt - added that giving up the staple food of bread is what spurred him on for success in the end.
He added: "Weirdly enough, I gave up bread for Lent. I don't know if anyone's Catholic in here, but I gave up bread for Lent.
"I was like, 'Well, if I'm giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I'm a good Catholic boy, so I'm not going to break it,'
"And that was my one rule. I was like, 'I'm not going to break Lent.' And so I lost 30 lbs. just through that."

Sydney Sweeney has a new 'bestie'

Sydney Sweeney's new "bestie" is a horse named Moose. The 27-year-old actress has been filming Echo Valley and during her breaks from shooting her scenes in the thriller, she enjoyed hanging out with the animals on set, and took a particular shine to one of them. She told Extra: 'Every time between scenes, because I had more downtime, of course, they had all the horses in the stalls, and I'd go over and there was this one horse in particular named Moose that I just hung out with and we became besties. I wanted to take Moose home." In Echo Valley, Julianne Moore plays Sudney's mother and they found it "so easy" to work together. Julianne said: "Sydney's so terrific, she's so available, she's so professional, she's so talented, and we just had a really good time, you know, building the relationship and being with each other, and I think we're aware of how important this relationship is, the mother-daughter bond, and how much it can hold, how elastic it is, and how far you can push it with each other. "It can be volatile, especially when kids are younger, when girls are teenagers and you realise they've had this tremendous history. "But it was fun. I think we were able to match each other's energy, and we really enjoyed each other's company, and it worked." Sydney added: "Everyone had always told me you are the kindest person they've ever met, and it's true, like, absolutely beyond kind and generous and thoughtful and just present for everyone on set." Julianne, 64, was gripped by the script from the minute she read it. She said: "I remember when I read it, because I was sick in bed with COVID and I was kind of going through scripts, and I was like, 'This is extraordinary!'... All the human drama was there, but then there's this incredible twist. It satisfies my need for, like, domestic, dramatic situations and the scary thriller part. I was really surprised by it, just blown away." Meanwhile, Sydney teased the long-awaited upcoming third season of Euphoria and promised fans won't be disappointed. She said: "I can't get too into detail about it, but I think people are gonna be really, really happy. "I mean, it's crazy. It's like, you're happy 'cause it's crazy."

Patrick Schwarzenegger and Margaret Qualley to team up for romantic drama

Patrick Schwarzenegger is to star in Love Of Your Life. The White Lotus actor will reportedly appear opposite Margaret Qualley in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios movie, which will be directed by Rachel Morrison. Julia Cox wrote the script, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, the emotional drama follows a young woman (Qualley), who loses her husband goes on a journey to find a way to move on with her life, while Schwarzenegger will play an old friend and former lover. Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson will produce Love Of Your Life through their Open Invite Entertainment banner, which was previously known as General Admission. Filming is scheduled to begin in Europe in August. Meanwhile, Patrick recently admitted he'd love to take the lead role in the upcoming American Psycho remake. One fan wrote on X recently: 'Patrick Schwarzenegger, I've found your breakout role.' To which, the actor replied: 'I'd love nothing more [wink].' Luca Guadagnino is making a modern version of the 2000 Mary Harron horror classic - which starred Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, a New York City investment banker who leads a double life as a serial killer - and recently teased 'the script is coming out very handsomely' for the flick. Appearing in a video segment at CinemaCon, the filmmaker said: 'We are really working hard to bring to the screen a new adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho, a book that I deeply love that is something that influenced me so much. '[Writer Scott Z. Burns] is doing an incredible job. The script is coming out very handsomely.' Although Guadagnino didn't reveal any of the cast for his American Psycho movie, the director teased he was currently in 'conversation with very exciting performers to play the leads." Last December, it was reported that Austin Butler would play Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. The new film won't be a direct remake of the 2000 movie, with Guadagnino's version poised to be a new take on the story that will have a more significant erotic emphasis than the original picture. Lionsgate film chief Adam Fogelson previously described the director as the 'perfect visionary' to helm the new cinematic iteration of American Psycho. He said in a statement: 'We are thrilled to add another elite filmmaker to our upcoming slate. Luca is a brilliant artist, and the perfect visionary to create a whole new interpretation of this potent and classic IP.'

Julianne Moore hails 'talented' and 'professional' Sydney Sweeney

Julianne Moore thinks Sydney Sweeney is "so talented". The 64-year-old actress stars alongside Sydney, 27, in Echo Valley, and Julianne has revealed that she relished the experience of playing the blonde beauty's on-screen mother in the new thriller film. She told Extra: "Sydney's so terrific, she's so available, she's so professional, she's so talented, and we just had a really good time, you know, building the relationship and being with each other. "I think we're aware of how important this relationship is, the mother-daughter bond, and how much it can hold, how elastic it is, and how far you can push it with each other. "It can be volatile, especially when kids are younger, when girls are teenagers and you realise they've had this tremendous history. But it was fun. I think we were able to match each other's energy, and we really enjoyed each other's company, and it worked." Sydney also enjoyed the experience of working with Julianne, describing her co-star as "beyond kind and generous". Sydney said: "Everyone had always told me you are the kindest person they've ever met, and it's true, like, absolutely beyond kind and generous and thoughtful and just present for everyone on set." Sydney previously confessed that she "tried to hide" her personality at the start of her career. The actress revealed that she wasn't sure what to share with fans during her younger years. Asked what advice she'd give her younger self, Sydney told Vanity Fair's 2025 Hollywood Issue: "I actually think about this often. I go back and forth. "One way is, 'Sydney, don't give them any part of you, only talk work.' Then there's another part of me where I wish that I could have started off and been so openly me that there's no questioning things that I say. "I just tried to hide who I was for so long because I wanted a little bit of myself for myself. I didn't want to give it all away. "Then when you just talk about work, people are annoyed or bored or - what I've noticed the most - they just create their own idea of who you are. I see that all the time with me."
