Christopher Schwarzenegger says he had 'tried everything' to lose weight

Perth Now13-05-2025

Christopher Schwarzenegger had "tried everything" to lose weight.
The son of Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria Shriver has managed to shed 30 pounds in recent times, and even though it took a lot of "trial and error", he knew he had to do it after his previous size stopped him from partaking in a skiing vacation.
He told US TV show 'Extra': "I tried everything. I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school.
"It's not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day... when you're saying, oh, before-and-after photos... I don't feel like I'm an after yet. I don't feel like I'm at the point.
"I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal], like, 'Oh, I'm going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,' and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.
"I was like, 'I want to go skydiving.' And my friends were like, 'Yeah, no shot.' I was like, 'Yeah, I can't skydive'.
Christopher - who works as the Director of Development at Indus Valley Media whilst his brother Patrick stars in 'White Lotus' and his sister Katherine is married to Hollywood actor Chris Pratt - added that giving up the staple food of bread is what spurred him on for success in the end.
He added: "Weirdly enough, I gave up bread for Lent. I don't know if anyone's Catholic in here, but I gave up bread for Lent.
"I was like, 'Well, if I'm giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I'm a good Catholic boy, so I'm not going to break it,'
"And that was my one rule. I was like, 'I'm not going to break Lent.' And so I lost 30 lbs. just through that."

Ciara gets daughter to 'pull back' on raunchy dance moves

Ciara had to get her daughter to "pull back" on copying her raunchy dance moves. The 39-year-old singer - who has Future, 10, with former partner Future, and Sienna, seven, Win, four, and Amora, two, with husband Russell Wilson - loves the fact her eldest girl always wants to "twin" with her but admitted she is concerned the youngster had taken her desire to be like her mom a little too far. She told Extra: 'Sisi, she likes to roll with me. She likes to twin with me. She kind of likes everything that I do. "She went on tour with me and Missy and Busta last summer. She got to see Mommy in a different light than she's seen me, like, full-in tour rollout, and I was like, she's copying a few, just a couple too many moves of mine. I'm like, 'Let's pull that back.'... Like, 'Ride,' I'm like, 'Wait, wait.' That's one of her favourite songs. I'm like, 'Is this good or is this not good?' 'She loves me so much and looks up to me so much that it's so sweet, and she's the best. She's such a little star!' But the Goodies hitmaker hoped she sets a good example to Sienna with her own self-confidence. She said: "I want for her to know that she's never limited by her gender, nor the colour of her skin, and when she sees me, she gets to know, I can do what I believe I can do if I simply believe in myself. I hope that's what she understands for mommy's journey, and I also want to empower her to be her." Ciara is proud of her Ecstasy remix with Normani and Teyana Taylor because she sees them as "the future". She gushed: 'To see girls come together is always special and important to me, and I think TT and Normani, they are the future. I just love the power of us three women coming together and shining a light on each other.' And Ciara teased her upcoming album CiCi will offer a "lot of fun stuff" for fans. She said: "I have a lot of fun stuff in store for my fans. I have to say, I'm really excitd about another collaboration on my project, my song that was produced by Jazze Pha. We haven't done a song together in almost like 18 years, maybe 17 or so, but Latto is also on that record, so it's a lot of A-Town love."

Woman scrolling on her phone Credit: BANG - Entertainment News BANG - Entertainment News Bang Showbiz Generation Zers struggle to focus. A study by Extra found over half of those aged 18-24 failed to focus on a task for longer than 30 minutes. It was said that three-quarters of Gen Zers - people born between 1997 and 2012 - like to procrastinate because their mind is occupied with something else. It comes as the research found that 34 per cent of the demographic cohort uses the video-based social media platform TiKTok and 20 per cent play video games when on breaks. Hannah Lee, from Extra, is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Procrastination gets a bad rap, but a healthy dose can help your brain reset. "Those little 'me moments' can create breathing space to help you get back in the zone."

Sydney Sweeney details 'crazy' transformation to play Christy Martin in biopic

Sydney Sweeney didn't fit into any of her clothes after she gained around 30lbs to play Christy Martin in a new biopic. The Euphoria actress is to star as the former professional boxer in an as-yet untitled movie, and Sweeney has told how she underwent a "crazy" transformation to get into character. Speaking to W Magazine, she said: "I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. "I started eating. "My body was completely different. "I didn't fit in any of my clothes. I'm usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. "My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! "I was like, 'Oh my god.' But it was amazing. I was so strong, like crazy strong." As well as eating more, the 'White Lotus' star had to train hard for the role, revealing she hit the weights for two hours a day and kickboxed for two hours. She added: "I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour." Fans first discovered Sweeney had been cast to portray the boxing trailblazer, who has been described by producers as the "female Rocky", in May 2024. Speaking about the movie, the 'Anyone But You' star told Deadline at the time: "Christy Martin not only legitimized female boxing, she overcame gender stereotypes, and fought through emotional, physical, and financial abuse. "I'm passionate about the fighting world, Christy's story shines a light on her incredible rise to the top while showing the struggles of fame behind the curtains. "I feel compelled to tell a story about a woman who faced so much adversity and didn't allow it to defeat her. It's powerful, and emotional." Training for the movie wasn't Sweeney's first foray into kickboxing. She explained: "I grappled and did kickboxing from 12-19 years old. I've been itching to get back into the ring, train, and transform my body. "Christy's story isn't a light one, it's physically and emotionally demanding, there's a lot of weight to carry. But I love challenging myself."
