Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exits with hamstring tightness in potential Blue Jays injury concern
Guerrero, the Blue Jays' superstar first baseman, exited Monday's game after the sixth inning with hamstring tightness and will undergo an MRI exam, manager John Schneider said postgame.
'Hopefully he's good to go in the next day or two,' Schneider said, according to The Athletic, 'but he's obviously really important.'

Schenider said the injury occurred when Guerrero was making a split in the field in the third inning, but the broadcast also captured him talking to someone in the dugout during the first inning while pointing at his left hamstring.
Guerrero's acrobatic play in the third occurred on a throw from shortstop Bo Bichette to first base, helping the Blue Jays record an out with the Pirates' Jared Triolo running.

Ty France replaced Guerrero — who has appeared in 124 of the Blue Jays' 126 games in 2025 — in the lineup for the remainder of the game.
While the severity will remain unclear until the results of the MRI exam, any time Guerrero misses with the injury would be devastating for a Toronto team that holds a five-game lead in the East over the Yankees and Red Sox after falling, 5-2, to Pittsburgh.

Guerrero, who signed a 14-year, $500 million extension in April, had hit .300 with an .898 OPS, 21 homers and 68 RBIs this season entering Monday, when he struck out in his first at-bat before driving in a run — via a groundout — two frames later.
After a slow start to the year, the Blue Jays pieced together one of the best stretches in the majors this season to surge past the Yankees in the division standings and build an advantage ahead of the stretch run.
But the Yankees, following a brutal two months, have finally uncovered a bit of momentum, as they swept the Cardinals over the weekend after taking two of three games from the Twins.
They start a two-game set with the Rays on Tuesday in Tampa, while the Blue Jays — as they hold their breath about Guerrero's status — continue a series with Pittsburgh.

Yankees become 1st MLB team to hit hit 9 home runs in a game twice in one season
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — José Caballero hit two home runs in 86 games with the Tampa Bay Rays this season. The speedy utilityman matched that total in one night Tuesday as the New York Yankees put on quite a power show. 'I think it's from hanging around with these guys,' Caballero explained after helping his new team to a 13-3 victory over the Rays. In his first game back at George M. Steinbrenner Field to face his former club, Caballero connected twice for his first career multihomer game. And he was hardly alone. Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger both hit two home runs, Aaron Judge launched his 40th of the season and the Yankees equaled a franchise record with nine longballs in a game delayed nearly two hours by rain at the start. New York also hit nine homers in its second game of the year, a 20-9 victory over Milwaukee on March 29 at Yankee Stadium. That makes the 2025 Bronx Bombers the first squad in major league history to hit nine home runs in a game twice in one season. 'We have a really good offense,' Bellinger said. 'You're going to have ebbs and flows of a 162-game season. It's not always going to be pretty, but we all believe in each other and the talent is there. We're doing a good job of putting it all together. It's really fun to be a part of.' It was just the fourth time a big league team has hit nine or more homers in a game. The record is 10, set by the Toronto Blue Jays on Sept. 14, 1987. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ben Rice also went deep for the Yankees, who won their fourth straight and looked awfully comfortable in a road game at their spring training home. New York took full advantage of the cozy dimensions before a crowd of 10,046 at George M. Steinbrenner Field, where the Rays are playing while Tropicana Field undergoes repairs. Judge, Bellinger and Stanton went back-to-back-to-back off Shane Baz to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead four batters into the game. With that, New York became the first MLB team to hit three consecutive homers in the first inning three times in one season (also March 29 and April 29). 'The first three were just kind of no-doubters, with Judge hitting it almost all the way up the batter's eye, and then Belly really leaning on one,' Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. 'And then Giancarlo, getting to two strikes there, just shot it the other way. In their own kind of way, three really good statement at-bats.' ___ AP MLB: Kristie Ackert, The Associated Press

Yankees blast a staggering nine home runs, tying franchise record in romp over Rays
TAMPA, Fla. – A superb, late night Yankees' power show stood a real slugger's chance of becoming ultra historic. Having belted his 40th of the year during another back-to-back-to-back Yankee home run spree, Aaron Judge strolled up in Tuesday's ninth against Rays' lefty Mason Montgomery. With the Yanks one shy of matching the single game MLB team record of 10 homers, Judge lined out to end the inning – a scorching 112.8-mph bullet to left. Feeling right at home at Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees settled for a franchise record-tying nine home runs in a 13-3 win, putting them alone atop the AL wild card standings. 'We hit nine?'' manager Aaron Boone asked with some genuine surprise, after his club – winners of six of their last seven games – matched a franchise record set earlier this year. "Wow.'' After a first pitch delayed nearly two hours due to rain and a severe weather threat, the Yankees became the first team with multiple games of at least nine homers in one season. Cody Bellinger, Giancarlo Stanton and Jose Caballero each collected two homers Tuesday, while Judge, Jazz Chisholm Jr., and Ben Rice clubbed on apiece. How close were the Yankees to MLB's record for homers in a game by one team? 'I didn't know it was 10,'' Bellinger said of the 1987 Toronto Blue Jays' single game, MLB team homer mark, but he recalled the Yanks' previous nine-homer game had made franchise history. After all, Bellinger was part of it, and Judge had a three-homer day on March 29, against the Milwaukee Brewers, when the Yanks opened with three straight homers at the Stadium off old pal Nestor Cortes. They hit three straight first inning homers on April 29 at Baltimore, and they repeated that first inning magic again Tuesday night against Rays' righty Shane Baz. With one out, Judge launched No. 40 an estimated 429 feet to center, and Bellinger and Stanton followed to make it a fast, 3-0 lead. "Great swings right out of the gate,'' said Boone, with Stanton lining an 0-2, 98-mph fastball over the right-center field wall. "In their own kind of way, three really statement at-bats.''
