Barcelona receive official transfer request from Serie A
That's according to Football Italia, who have today provided an insight into the situation.
Barcelona and Como of course locked horns yesterday evening, in the annual edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy match.
When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged on the right side of the result, dominating en route to a 5-0 triumph.
Their side's heavy defeat, though, did not discourage the Como brass from sitting down with their Barca counterparts to launch a transfer offensive.
This comes amid confirmation that Cesc Fàbregas' side are now actively pushing for the signature of Blaugrana goalkeeper Iñaki Peña.
Shot-stopper Peña is for his part widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out, having continued to tumble down the pecking order between the posts in Hansi Flick's squad following the recent arrival of Joan García.

Roma are working on a loan deal to sign Manchester United's Jadon Sancho. The Serie A side have made an offer for the England international but there is an acknowledgement that it would be a tricky deal to complete. Roma are also in talks to sign Aston Villa's Leon Bailey on loan as they look to add to their attacking options. Sancho had options in England and around Europe that he was expected to explore before making a decision on his next step. His United contract runs until next June, with the option of a further year. The 25-year-old spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Chelsea, where he made 42 appearances. Chelsea's agreement with United last summer included an obligation to make the move permanent for £25m. The clause was triggered in April when it was mathematically guaranteed that Chelsea could not finish lower than 15th in the Premier League. However, Chelsea did not agree personal terms with Sancho and exercised the option to pay £5m to send him back to United. He scored five goals and provided ten assists during his time at Stamford Bridge, helping the side win the Conference League and finish fourth in the Premier League. Sancho was one of five United first-team players left out of their pre-season tour squad, alongside Marcus Rashford — who has since joined Barcelona on loan — Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony. The group were asked not to report for training until after 5pm, after Ruben Amorim and the rest of the first-team group had left Carrington, earlier this summer. Sancho has played 83 games for United, with his last appearance for the club in the 2024 Community Shield against rivals Manchester City, when he came on as a substitute. He only made three appearances for United in 2023-24 after a public disagreement with then-head coach Erik ten Hag, resulting in him being excluded from the squad and re-join Dortmund on loan in January 2024. They report that Roma are in discussions with Aston Villa over a potential deal to sign winger Leon Bailey. The 28-year-old signed a new contract in February 2024, which runs until 2027. The Premier League has strict rules about the number and type of players that its teams can submit as part of their official squad list for the upcoming season. Once the deadline closes on September 1, clubs will submit a 25-player squad list. From that number, a minimum of eight players must meet the league's 'home grown player' criteria. A player qualifies as home grown if they have been registered with an English of Welsh club for three full seasons before their 21st birthday. Under-21 players at any Premier League club do not need to be registered in the 25-man squad and can play at any time in the season for their team. The primary period for player trading opened for Premier League and EFL clubs back on June 16. They will have until deadline day on September 1 to conclude any trading.
