More than 30 people were hurt after a driver ploughed into a crowd standing outside a Los Angeles nightclub on Friday night, US time, according to officials.
Seven of the victims were in a critical condition after the incident, which unfolded at 2am on Saturday when a Nissan Versa car flew into the crowd outside of The Vermont Hollywood club on Santa Monica Boulevard, in East Hollywood, the New York Post reports.

'They were all standing in line going into a nightclub. There was a taco cart out there, so they were … getting some food, waiting to go in. And there's also a valet line out there,' Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Adam VanGerpen said.

'The valet podium was taken out, the taco truck was taken out, and then a large number of people were impacted by the vehicle.'
The majority of the people in line for the concert at the nightclub, which was billed as 'So-Cal's Biggest Reggaeton & Hip-Hop Party,' were women, according to Capt VanGerpen.
At least three victims were in critical condition.
One of the patients had a gunshot wound, said paramedics, but the victim had yet to be identified and it was unclear if that victim was connected to the crash.
The majority of the 31 patients were being treated and transported to area hospitals and trauma centres, Capt Van Gerpen said.
People inside the club came out to help the victims in the minutes before emergency crews arrived on the scene, the captain said.

Falling palm tree kills four-year-old girl in tragic 'freak event' at Darwin

A falling palm tree has struck and killed a four-year-old girl playing in a Darwin backyard, in what's been described as "a freak" accident. In a statement, NT Police said emergency services were called to the Tiwi yard about 1:55pm on Saturday afternoon. They tried to take the girl to a nearby hospital for treatment, but she could not be saved. "Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene, and the victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital; however, she was pronounced deceased prior to arrival," the statement said. The tree also struck an 11-year-old boy, but police said his injuries were "non-life-threatening". NT police on Saturday had said the girl who died was seven years old, but on Monday confirmed she was four years old. Police said its investigations were "ongoing", but they did not believe the incident to be suspicious. A report will be prepared for the coroner. A number of tree-related deaths have been recorded in the NT over time. Almost two years ago, a falling tree branch at Darwin's botanic gardens struck and killed a South African woman as she was walking with her partner. In 2013, a falling palm tree south of Darwin struck and killed a Coomalie Council worker at Batchelor. NT-born arborist Ben Kenyon said, although the exact circumstances that caused the tree to fall in this incident were unclear, it was a tragedy. "Quite often, it is a bit of a freak event. "[My] thoughts go out to the family for sure — it's tragic." Mr Kenyon, who runs an arboriculture business in Melbourne but frequently visits the NT, said it was important to monitor and maintain backyard trees, particularly in tropical areas such as the Top End. "A fungi getting into the trunk of a tree in the Top End can kill it within 3-12 months — a very similar fungi in a similar tree in the southern states may take 5-10 years," he said. "It's just far, far quicker with the growth rates that you have and the humidity and the style of tree that you have in the Top End."

Conor McGregor's fiancee Dee Devlin ‘clearly not happy' after MMA star's latest indiscretions

Dee Devlin is 'clearly not happy' with Conor McGregor despite standing by his side amid scandals, an insider claimed. In the past week, the MMA star has been snapped snogging a mystery brunette on a Florida beach before enjoying a cosy dinner with her, and US rapper Azealia Banks accused him of sending her unsolicited 'd*** pics'. And, in November last year a jury found the father – who shares four children with fiancee Dee – had sexually assaulted Nikita Hand. Ms Hand was awarded almost $450,000 in damages after the jury ruled she was attacked by the UFC fighter McGregor at the Beacon Hotel in December 2018, The Sun reports. Dee was photographed walking side-by-side with her husband-to-be on the court steps throughout the civil case. Then in January this year, McGregor faced fresh allegations after a woman accused him of raping her in a VIP bathroom at the Kaseya Center in 2023. McGregor denied the allegations. The alleged attack took place after Miami Heat's NBA Finals game against the Denver Nuggets on June 9. Florida prosecutors, however, declined to pursue criminal charges for the alleged assault with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office, citing insufficient evidence in the case back in October 2023. Despite this, loyal fiancee Dee has remained supportive of the MMA star. On his 37th birthday last week, just a day after pictures emerged of McGregor kissing a woman on the beach, Dee shared a loved-up tribute to her man. Dee uploaded a post on her Instagram story from a fan account which read: 'Happy Birthday to the person who always keeps Dee entertained and makes her smile.' Putting on a united front, she also posted a series of photos of herself and the fighter beaming together. But an insider told the Mail: 'We are being told to believe that this is a happy, loving relationship behind all the headlines. 'I think a lot of things clearly point to the fact that she is not. 'From early on in the relationship, she has had a great deal to cope with. I would be very concerned with how much she can take.' A source also told The Sun: 'Dee is incredibly loyal and Conor knows that. 'She is often there with him behind the scenes, but just not in the limelight. He has also made it very clear he is bankrolling her now, which plays a huge part in the dynamic of their relationship – and makes it almost impossible for her to leave.' They added: 'She quietly accepts his behaviour and because she's been there from the beginning, she's always willing to move on. 'She'll stick with him, even if he pushes her loyalty in return.' In light of Dee's never-wavering public shows of support, relationships expert Jo Hemmings told The Sun she is 'addicted to his chaos'. Although, she did warn there will be a 'tipping point' when she's 'reluctantly forced to leave' and it may be the close pals of Conor – who she dubs a 'bloody car crash' – that play a big part in it. Jo notes that instead of writing something herself, amid the kissing scandal, Dee shared a fanpage post that read: 'Happy Birthday to the person who always keeps Dee entertained and makes her smile.' 'What's interesting is it's third person, she reposted probably one of the nicer things someone could say about Conor, instead of 'what the hell is she doing with this fool,'' she says. 'To call what she's gone through 'entertainment' suggests she enjoys there never being a dull moment with him and that she feeds off there being jeopardy every step of the way. 'She doesn't want the dull and predictable, she's addicted, almost addicted to him. But it's getting to the point where her hand is being forced and she could be coerced into leaving him.' 'The problem is these things tend to take on a force of their own,' she tells us. 'Because there is a picture, not rumour or speculation, he will be scrutinised to the point of no return. 'Dee may be pushed into a situation, reluctantly, where it's no longer good for her mental health to stay with him. The more it gathers pace, the more likely her hand will be forced. 'Family, friends and people close to her will become more persuasive in not allowing her to let the situation carry on. 'She's looking absolutely downtrodden, foolish and weak and could easily be tipped over the edge, not only to protect herself but to protect her children. 'It must be horrible to see their dad behaving like that and people talking about him unpleasantly online. 'She may leave him to protect her family because clearly family has been the most important thing to her throughout all of this.' This comes after McGregor put on a cosy display with Dee after the recent scandals. The UFC star posted several beaming snaps on Instagram after celebrating his birthday. Dressed in pink, he posed in shades and posted pics of his kids and of Dee Devlin's hands resting on his chest. It comes after he was seen smiling and snapping pics with Dee aboard the luxury yacht off the coast of Italy. Pictures from his luxury yacht trip in Italy show the MMA fighter sparring and soaking in the sun alongside Dee. In moments, Conor could also be seen gently patting his partner on the bum on the expensive boat, which was adorned with balloons in the colours of the Irish flag. Dee is yet to comment on the mystery women seen with her fiance, and the allegations made by US rapper Azealia Banks. The 212 hit maker shared explicit photos that allegedly show the UFC brawler on X, alongside his threat 'don't be a rat cos (sic) all rats get caught'. While Dee – who's dated Conor for 17 years – hasn't broken her silence, but she's weathered even more sensational accusations levied against him in the past.

Dad slammed for fleeing as 7yo son gets kidnapped in broad daylight

Chilling video has captured the moment a 7-year-old boy was kidnapped at gunpoint while his father abandoned him to run to safety. The footage obtained by WISN shows little Jamal White riding his bike near his Milwaukee home when a white Jeep circles back and blocks his family's driveway. In the video, two people jump out of the vehicle and grab the child as his dad, Jamal Sr, sprints inside the house, before coming back outside to slam the trunk of his car in frustration. 'Hell yeah I ran,' the dad later wrote on Facebook as he was ripped for failing to stop and help his seven-year-old son. 'I ran in thinking they tryna rob me not take my damn baby,' he wrote. Jamal was snatched at 7pm. Friday Milwaukee time, but an amber alert wasn't issued until almost five hours later, WISN noted. He was eventually found nearly 24 hours later at a house seven miles (11km) from where he was taken — and after his uncle allegedly opened fire at two people during the hunt. 'Yalll slow we both alive n my baby tried to get away like I taught em,' the dad said, suggesting he should be praised for his son surviving his kidnapping. 'God had us the whole time obviously I did right my baby safe!' Many commenters slammed the dad's actions. 'Your son gone beat on you when he get older and find out what you did buddy,' one user wrote. 'Bro you ran in the house and slammed the door,' a second wrote. 'I mean did you at least jog after the car?' a third asked. Three people have since been arrested — including the missing boy's 27-year-old uncle, Jamel K. White, who allegedly opened fire at a man and his son during the search, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He shot at them when they drove past in a car, the docs said, hitting a tree and an abandoned house. The uncle blamed it on him being scared for his family, the complaint said. He faces two charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon. He appeared in court on Tuesday, where his bond was set at $20,000 and he was ordered to have no possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, according to court records seen by the outlet. Two other men were also arrested — a 27-year-old at the house where the boy was snatched from outside, and a 25-year-old at the one he was eventually found in. Neither was otherwise identified and a motive was not given.
