St. Thomas Aquinas' Sherice Newton is the Broward Flag Football Player of the Year
Sherice Newton knew a little bit about how to play quarterback in flag football even before her senior season. But she hadn't formally been given the keys to St. Thomas Aquinas' offense until this season. The Raiders valued Newton for her leadership qualities and felt she was the best choice to fill their vacancy at the position. The decision paid off. Newton turned into one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the state while leading St. Thomas Aquinas back to the regional finals in Class 3A. And so, Newton, a senior who is headed to FIU to study biochemistry, is the Miami Herald's Broward County Flag Football Player of the Year. Newton completed 369 of 469 pass attempts this season for 3,937 yards and threw 73 touchdown passes with only nine interceptions. She also showed off her quickness when she kept the ball, running for 336 yards on 45 carries. But one of her biggest improvements was her decision-making and patience as a passer. 'I used to just roll out and throw it, but this year I learned to stay in the pocket more and I played much better than I had in the past,' Newton said. The Raiders graduated all of their quarterbacks after the 2024 season and Newton was one of two possible options to take the reins this season. An injury made Aquinas' decision simple and Newton took it and ran with it, leading the Raiders to one of their best seasons in school history. 'I feel like being a senior they felt like I could be a leader to the younger players,' Newton said. 'I had good timing and I just got the ball to my receivers.' Aquinas finished 16-2 before losing to Homestead in the playoffs. Newton feels like it's a matter of time before the Raiders bring home a state championship. 'They just have to stay together and when times get tough not blame each other, just stay together and push through as a team,' Newton said.

Bill Belichick has tried to land Jordon Hudson ‘6-figure' jobs, insider says
Bill Belichick has reportedly been trying to line up some lucrative gigs for his girlfriend (and rumored fiancée) Jordon Hudson. Journalist Pablo Torre, who has been prolific in reporting about the Belichick-Hudson relationship, told Pro Football Talk that the former Patriots coach has tried to boost Hudson's career. Advertisement 'Bill Belichick has told multiple people that I've talked to directly – he has called her brilliant. He has tried to get her six-figure jobs on the media enterprises that he was also working for," Torre said. Torre, the host of Pablo Torre Finds Out, has been vocal in highlighting the significant role Hudson plays in Belichick's life and business. Torre noted that, sure, the 49-year age gap is something that draws attention. However, he notes that there's a big story here. As the head coach at North Carolina, Belichick is the highest-paid public employee in the state. At the same time, Hudson has been acting as his agent, manager and PR specialist. Torre disputed the idea that Hudson was merely handling 'lower level stuff' like social media. He insists that Hudson is 'at the top' of Belichcick's operations. Advertisement 'She is the CEO of Belichick Productions, even if that LLC is not actually incorporated anywhere. That's the LinkedIn profile,' Torre said. 'She is his idea mill and creative muse, per the acknowledgments page of his book. She is the person that you had to deal with if you were Matt (expletive) Damon. The whole idea of, 'No, she's doing the lower level stuff.' No, this is at the top.' Why mention Damon? Torre noted earlier in the interview that Damon and Ben Affleck were put in the usual position of having to negotiate with Hudson when they tried to get Belichick to be in their Dunkin' Super Bowl commercial. Per Torre, the meeting left the actors 'flabbergasted.' More Patriots Content Read the original article on MassLive.

Podcast host apologizes to Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson: ‘My bad, coach'
Jordon Hudson's role in Bill Belichick's life has been frequently talked about ever since she shut down a question from CBS Mornings about how the couple met. More fuel was added to that fire when 'The Pivot' co-host Channing Crowder revealed the 24-year-old Hudson 'choreographed the open' of Belichick's interview with the podcast and 'had her paws' on the situation. Advertisement Crowder used part of Tuesday's episode to issue an apology to Belichick and Hudson, noting he got 'caught up in the narrative.' 'I just want to tell Bill, Jordon, I apologize for any negativity it brought to you,' Crowder said. 'Coach, we talked on the phone, I told you I respect you as much as I do anybody in this world. And what happened and the articles that came out was unrealistic and that's the opposite of what I wanted to do for you and what I wanted to do for your relationship, coach. So that's my bad and I wanted to put it out there as a man: My bad, coach.' Ryan Clark added that Hudson didn't have any say in the open of the show that included Belichick. 'That's not the truth. Bill reached out to me personally and we decided that we were going to ask about the book,' Clark said. 'But I asked, 'Hey coach, can we get into a little bit more?'' Advertisement Clark added he spoke to the couple for 90 minutes before the podcast interview and that Hudson even answered questions on camera — though that part didn't make the final cut of the episode. In fact, the co-host revealed Hudson left during the interview. 'I think the narrative that people want to build around her and her control wasn't displayed during our interview,' Clark said.
