Nathan Henry breaks down in tears over brutal question about terminally ill dad

Daily Mirror13-07-2025
EXCLUSIVE: Geordie Shore icon Nathan Henry shares a brand new side to him in an emotional series filmed about his dad, who is living with stage four lung cancer
Geordie Shore star Nathan Henry gave fans the chance to get to know him and his family in a way he's never done so before in his new series. While the classic MTV programme captured all of the 34-year-old's wildest nights out and messy, drunken antics, he "faces the reality of his own family" in the new series, Geordie Stories: Nathan and Dad.
The four-part series, airing weekly on YouTube, follows the Henry family navigating their new normal after his father, Glen, was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. In the raw and honest series, Nathan seeks advice from friends and experts as he creates sweet new memories with Glen.

Nathan revealed the cancer was 'terminal but manageable' with Glen needing to be on pills, as radiotherapy was out of the question due to his pacemaker. To better understand his journey as well as seek solace from a friend, Nathan approached pal Gabby Allen, whose dad died from brain cancer, for advice.

He also went to Ex On The Beach star Ashley Cain to learn new methods of coping during difficult, life-changing situations. Ashley and her ex-partner Safiyya Vorajee's daughter was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia at eight weeks old. She sadly passed away at eight months old in 2021.
At one emotional moment in the series, Nathan and his dad attended a support meeting organised by Cancer Black Care - an organisation offering advice, counselling, help with social services, support groups while lobbying for improved cancer services.

During the group discussion that saw attendees discuss their experiences living with cancer, Nathan was asked a seemingly simple question that knocked him through a loop like emotional whiplash.
"Do you have any support?" someone turned to Nathan and asked, which left him lost for words as he finally managed to admit: "I don't know." In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Nathan said he initially reacted 'logically' when he learned about his father's diagnosis and spent most of the time busy taking care of his family.

However, it wasn't until he was asked the weighted question that he broke down in tears over everything that had happened to him and his family in recent years.
He spent so long worrying about everyone in his family's health that he forgot to think about his own pain and emotional turmoil. "That question caught me off guard as I was thinking in my head, 'We're not here for me, we're here for my dad'," he told us.
"When she asked me whether I had support, I said I didn't know. Obviously, my friends asked me questions, even my boyfriend asked me questions, but at that point, I didn't talk to them. Not because they might not have said the right thing or they didn't understand. It was because I was too busy being there for my dad and too busy being there for my family. I don't even have time to check in on me and what I'm feeling when I get home."

Nathan continued: "I do self-care stuff, I might have a pamper to take my mind off things but I wouldn't sit in my house and dwell on it and I wouldn't think about it, so when that lady asked me that question, I was like, I don't know. I need a moment to think about it. The thing is, because she asked me that, when I got home, I fully broke down crying and I was like it just hit me.
Speaking about his breakdown, which fans see a glimpse of in the show, he said: "I was like, 'F**k'. She really asked a question that I didn't know the answer to and now, I think that big cry I had, releasing that emotion… At that point, I don't think I'd cried properly from the three years ago from the diagnosis to now.

"It was like three years of crying came out. Even the next morning, I woke up and I cried for three hours. I had to go to my mum's and just sit there and I was still crying. My mum was like, 'What is it?' I was like, 'Please don't talk to me, I just need you to sit there and let me cry but I need someone there'. That was what I needed and I cuddled the dogs, I cried.
"My mum must have thought I was an absolute psychopath because I've cried for three hours but she just sat there playing Candy Crush, not speaking to me, and then all of a sudden I wiped my tears and I went, 'Right, see you later then!'. And she was like, 'What? Is that it? What's happened?' I was like, 'No, I'm done. I've finished. I got it all out. I'm off now Bye'."
The reality star icon wanted to share his father's story in hopes of helping someone, all while getting to know his dad, but he did worry about how Glen would come across on television.

"He was more open. I think I might have been the problem," he said as he recalled filming for the first few days. "My dad was more open to talk about his cancer, but I was more protective. You know the part where we do our interview questions?
"[Producers] were asking questions and I was being more protective and answering for my dad. One day we went for dinner just before we were filming they said, 'I know it's hard because we are talking about this stuff.'
"From being on TV I know how to edit myself and I was trying to edit my dad for him they told me, 'We want this to be raw. You need to stop cutting in and let your dad speak'."

Cabin crew lift lid on unsettling 'crop dusting' trend - and people are horrified

A flight attendant has revealed what the trend 'crop dusting' means while onboard a plane - as people confess the rumours are true about what it means when crew use the term While farting on a plane may be something short of a nightmare - according to plane crew, they are advised to do it, especially pilots. Sitting next to someone on a flight while they let rip really wouldn't be the ideal start to your holiday, so spare a thought for the cockpit if either pilot needs to let one out. ‌ According to one Argentinian flight attendant, she revealed to her almost 2.65 million YouTube followers that pilots are "prohibited" from holding in their gas because the discomfort it causes can distract them from their crucially important role. ‌ Now fellow cabin crew members, including flight attendants have come forward to confess their wind admissions while serving onboard - and revealed the habit is called 'crop dusting'. ‌ Taking to Facebook, one former crew member said: 'I'm cabin crew and I walk down that cabin farting to my heart's (and bowel's) content. I also share the love in the flight deck.' While another chimed: 'My friend is an air steward and they are advised to let rip, they are told that if they are in Business Class or First they should make an excuse to go to economy to release the pressure then return to Business class.' A third said: 'Cabin crew slang is "crop dusting" when you walk the length of the aisle slowly letting it out as you go.' The Argentinian air steward, who goes by the name Barbie Bac explained that flatulence is heightened when the plane reaches an altitude of 30,000 feet and said: "At high altitudes, atmospheric pressure is lower, which increases the volume of internal gases. "This can cause discomfort and distraction in the cockpit when the pilots should be focused on doing their job, not in pain from being full of gas. That's why it's always recommended that pilots, if they have to, just release them." To try and minimise the chances of passing wind, Barbie Bac said the pilots eat different meals to each other - so they don't both suffer another unfortunate bowel incident. "The commander and the copilot choose different meal options. One will choose chicken and the other will choose pasta," she says. Her claims are even backed up by a 2013 study by Danish and British gastroenterologists. Hans Christian Pommergaard, Jakob Burcharth, Anders Fischer, William Thomas and Professor Rosenberg told the New Zealand Medical Journal that holding your farts in may seem preferential but they suggested that for the sake of their health and comfort, passengers and crew should set them free. ‌ However the medics did recognise that air cabin quality may be diminished for other passengers though. The gassy dilemma also applied to the cockpit and pilots, the specialists found. "If the pilot restrains a fart, all the drawbacks previously mentioned, including diminished concentration, may affect his abilities to control the airplane. If he lets go of the fart his co-pilot may be affected by its odour, which again reduces safety on board the flight."

Listeners' fury after popular US podcast airs vile antisemetic rant while hosts laughed and nodded along

A popular US podcast has come under fire for a shock conversation which involved openly anti-Semitic language including blaming Jewish people for the Holocaust. The Fresh & Fit podcast, hosted by Myron Gaines and Walter Weekes claims to be the number one men's podcast in the world. It has nearly 1.6 million followers on YouTube, where it has been demonetized in the past, and some 372,000 followers on Rumble. The podcast has regularly featured guests such as Andrew Tate and Nick Fuentes. The podcast was live streaming to the right wing video platform Rumble when host Myron Gaines bizarrely asked about their female guests about their views on Hitler. Weeks and Gaines laughed and grinned while the guest began her vile anti-Semitic rant. She replied: 'What if he Jewish did something to the Germans that made them act a certain way, but nobody wants to talk about it. The Jews don't want to take accountability. Other guests agreed, saying 'I'm with you on that one'. The woman then continued: 'They were up to something so the Germans wanted to take them out. It had to be something, the Germans wanted to take them out, all of them. Another guest can be heard saying 'Jews are so fishy' while another replied 'they started it'. The woman continued: 'The Holocaust was the only way he (Hitler) can take out a huge population of Jews all in one setting. 'I already know what is going on, I am not dumb. The Jews did something, they are trying to take back and get repercussions especially from America, from Americans. 'So they have taken over the government and stuff like that Gaines then asked: 'How do we take them down? To which another replied: 'gotta kill them m************' Another guest also whispered: 'Genocide' The guest added: 'Hitler he had the plan, but his plan was too gruesome'. It is profoundly disturbing to see young social media influencers casually rationalize Hitler and the Nazi regime's systematic extermination of six million Jews during the Holocaust. The only thing more terrifying than Holocaust denial is Holocaust glorification. The comfort… — Ritchie Torres (@RitchieTorres) July 25, 2025 Fellow Host Walter Weeks then said: 'Listen, he had to do what he had to do. He was trying to save the world, it just didn't work out. The woman continued: Jews are the reason why the healthcare system and everything around the us in government is collapsing because they are sitting up here stealing away from the American people.' The video was deleted but was later shared by Republican politician Richie Torres. He said: 'It is profoundly disturbing to see young social media influencers casually rationalize Hitler and the Nazi regime's systematic extermination of six million Jews during the Holocaust. 'The only thing more terrifying than Holocaust denial is Holocaust glorification. 'The comfort with which these commentators defend the most evil man ever to roam the earth should send chills down the spine of every decent person.' Democrat Senator Scott Wiener also shared his disgust. He wrote: 'This Fresh & Fit podcast justifies the Holocaust since the Jews 'were up to something so the Germans wanted to take them out.' They claim Jews control the government & health system. And people wonder why anti-Jewish violence is rising.' Hosts Weekes and Gaines are no strangers to controversy, having previous said women in serious relationships should not have Instagram because it's 'a form of cheating'. The duo believe men and women 'are not equals' and it's ok for men to post what they want on Instagram but women in relationships should not be allowed to have an account. They added how 'women want attention and men want sex', and so women shouldn't be 'advertising themselves' as men will act on their options if they have the ability to do so. Gaines also wrote a book titled Why Women Deserve Less, where he wrote that 'All women are whores. The Fresh and Fit podcast has been contacted for comment.

Megan McKenna reveals shocking call from Simon Cowell and what he told her

Megan McKenna says becoming a mum has brought her confidence and joy as she builds a new life with husband Oliver Burke and their baby son Megan McKenna says motherhood has given her a new sense of freedom and confidence as she enjoys life with husband Oliver Burke and their nine-month-old son Landon. ‌ The 32-year-old, who rose to fame through reality TV shows like The Only Way Is Essex and Ex on the Beach, is now better known for her powerful vocals and popular recipe videos, Mirror reports. ‌ Having tied the knot with footballer Oliver, 28, in June, the Essex-born star now divides her time between the UK and Berlin, where her husband plays for German Bundesliga club Union Berlin. ‌ 'Motherhood has definitely made me more free,' Megan said during an exclusive interview with OK! at The Shard in London. 'I don't worry about the little things any more. As a mum, you have the most amazing gift already, so everything else is fine.' The visit to London marked her first performance since becoming a mother, as she joined Grammy-winning songwriter Toby Gad, best known for Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry, for a live show that also featured Paloma Faith. Megan performed alongside Toby, singing the iconic ballad, while her proud parents watched from the front row. ‌ 'I took a break from music for obvious reasons and I moved to Berlin, so I've had a lot on my plate,' she said. 'But to be honest, I took a break because I don't like doing things half-heartedly. I'm very passionate about what I do, so I want to do it properly.' Megan has been building a music career since winning The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019. Her original song This went straight to number one on iTunes and entered the UK Official Charts. ‌ The heartfelt ballad is now widely used in social media videos for engagement and pregnancy announcements, including Megan's own announcement in April last year, which followed fertility struggles. 'I hear my song all the time and get tagged in so many videos using it. It's really lovely,' she said. 'I would say definitely The X Factor helped with people realising that I've grown up a lot. ‌ "People realised that I can actually write music. I'm not just a singer who sings karaoke. I actually write from the heart and I think that's why I won The X Factor because all my songs are inspired by my own stories.' Her music journey has not been without challenges. Megan revealed that after her win, Simon Cowell's label, which was supposed to support her next steps, closed down. 'The label shut down after I won, so it was pretty hard. It was tough because I'd worked so, so hard,' she said. 'But Simon and I had a nice relationship. ‌ "He actually rang me, which was crazy, because it's not every day Simon Cowell rings you, to say that the label was closing down. He was really nice about it and said, 'I'm sorry, but you need to find a new home.' But it's not an easy thing to do.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Still, Megan is optimistic about returning to the music scene, now that her son is a little older. 'Thankfully, times are changing and you don't need a record label to release music, so hopefully it will be easier.' ‌ Beyond music, Megan has also carved out a niche as a cook, with millions of fans watching her prepare recipes online. Her cookbook, which became a Sunday Times bestseller, has cemented her status as a culinary talent. 'I love cooking. It's so natural to me. I just prop my phone up and film while I'm doing it,' she said. 'Most of the time, I look horrendous! "I always think afterwards, 'Gosh, maybe I should try and put on some lipstick,' but then it gets to the end of the day and I'm like, 'Nah, that's impossible!'' She laughed, adding: 'I love cooking, I love singing, I love Landon and I love Ollie. That's all I need, really.'
