Prince William and Kate Middleton are moving for a "fresh start"

The royals, along with their children, are packing up for a new home.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are on the move once again. The couple, along with their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — are set to leave their four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage in Windsor later this year.
According to The Sun, the family will relocate to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom Georgian mansion tucked inside Windsor Great Park. Forest Lodge, once admired by King George IV and King Edward VIII, is currently undergoing a $1.5 million restoration project to preserve its original details — including marble fireplaces, Venetian windows, and an elaborate vaulted hallway. The cost of the renovations is being covered by the Prince and Princess of Wales themselves.
The Grade II–listed property is valued at an estimated $5.5 million and sits just a short distance from their current home, making it a convenient transition. Reports suggest the family intends to make Forest Lodge their long-term base, even after Prince William eventually ascends the throne.
This move marks the third major residence for William and Kate in recent years. In addition to Adelaide Cottage, the couple also maintains Anmer Hall in Norfolk and a London base at Kensington Palace.
The relocation comes after a challenging few years for the royals and represents a chance for a "fresh start," according to The Sun, which cited an insider. Princess Kate, 43, recently completed chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis, while King Charles continues his own cancer treatment. The family also weathered the loss of Queen Elizabeth II shortly after they first moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022.
For their three children, stability in Windsor means remaining close to Lambrook School in Ascot, where they have been enrolled since 2022.
As renovations wrap up and the family prepares to move in, Forest Lodge is set to become not only their newest residence, but possibly their most enduring royal home.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's Upcoming Move Displace Two Windsor Families

Prince William and Kate Middleton's Upcoming Move Displace Two Windsor Families originally appeared on Parade. Prince William and Kate Middleton's next move on the Windsor estate has already led to a shake-up for a couple of nearby residents. The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, along with their children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, are preparing to leave Adelaide Cottage — their home of the past three years — for Forest Lodge later in 2025. As plans for the relocation progress,PEOPLE confirmed on Sunday, August 17, that two neighboring families were asked to leave their residences earlier this summer. According to the Daily Mail, the households had been living in cottages once converted from old stables on the estate. These properties, which were rented out through the Crown Estate, sit in close proximity to Forest Lodge, the new eight-bedroom home for the Wales family. While the transition may have come as a surprise, PEOPLE stated that the tenants did not receive eviction notices and were instead moved to 'similar or better housing' within Windsor Great Park. RELATED: Kate Middleton Was Supposed to Be on Vacation—Then She Dropped a Powerful New Project 'They were not expecting it,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they're not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there.' According to the outlet, additional privacy measures have already been put in place, including fresh shrubbery and screening around the property. Minor renovations are also underway, and a Kensington Palace spokesperson previously confirmed, 'The Wales family will move house later this year.' As for Kate, she recently expanded her early childhood advocacy with the launch of a new educational project. On August 6, the Princess of Wales unveiled seven animated videos through her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, aimed at helping parents, caregivers, and professionals better support children's emotional and social development. 'Loving, responsive interactions with trusted adults help shape how children learn and grow, laying the foundations for future life health and happiness,' Kate explained in her announcement, noting that the series highlights how everyday relationships influence brain development. Anthony Mackie on Filming 'Avengers: Doomsday' in London: 'A Lot of Sheep...It's Crazy'

Anthony Mackie gave fans a much-anticipated update on the state of filming for the 2026 movie Avengers: Doomsday. However, it was his comments about London, where filming is taking place, that may have taken the cake. During an interview with ScreenRant, Mackie was asked where things stand with filming and if it was close to wrapping. Not surprisingly, the Captain America actor kicked things off there by letting fans know they aren't even close to the final stretch of filming. Anthony Mackie Gives 'Avengers: Doomsday' Update, Also Can't Believe London's 'Crazy' Amount of Sheep If you thought that an Avengers: Doomsday filming update would never land in the same conversation as London's apparent overload of sheep, think again. While Mackie responded to the question of whether the Marvel film is close to wrapping with a blunt, "Absolutely no, hell no" response, he expanded a bit from there. "We're in the midst of such a big moving set piece, and it's such a big story," Mackie said. "Shooting a Marvel movie, the best part is it's always an ever-evolving canvas. There are those staple pieces, then there are the pieces that kind of circulate throughout the course of the it's going well." Mackie then proceeded to dive into how things are in London, by first stating that "London is so that's a thing." The Marvel star quickly shifted to his surprise at finding out how many sheep London has, and his priceless reaction was my favorite part of the clip, personally. "A lot of sheep. Who knew there were so many sheep in London?!" Mackie said. "There's a lot of sheep...a lot of sheep. It's crazy." To Mackie's credit, it's fair to assume he's logging heavy hours on the set for Avengers: Doomsday, so maybe he's just taking time to enjoy the small things around London—like the sheep. Marvel Yet to Address Several Unanswered Questions About 'Avengers: Doomsday' There's no shortage of excitement around Marvel's latest addition to the Avengers series, but there are many unanswered questions fans hope to get answers to. When Marvel unveiled the cast of Avengers: Doomsday on a roughly 5-6 hour live stream, speculation began that the entire list of names wasn't released. That belief was proven correct later, but Marvel still hasn't confirmed the full, lengthy list of names that'll appear. Among the specific names referenced frequently is a star currently filming his own superhero movie—Tom Holland and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Holland's name wasn't listed on the initial cast release for Avengers: Doomsday, and little information has been provided by Marvel thus far. There's still plenty of time to speculate on names and possible superhero cameos in the new film, as Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, Mackie on Filming 'Avengers: Doomsday' in London: 'A Lot of Crazy' first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 7, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
