Prince William and Kate Middleton's Upcoming Move Displace Two Windsor Families
Prince William and Kate Middleton's next move on the Windsor estate has already led to a shake-up for a couple of nearby residents.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, along with their children Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, are preparing to leave Adelaide Cottage — their home of the past three years — for Forest Lodge later in 2025. As plans for the relocation progress,PEOPLE confirmed on Sunday, August 17, that two neighboring families were asked to leave their residences earlier this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the households had been living in cottages once converted from old stables on the estate. These properties, which were rented out through the Crown Estate, sit in close proximity to Forest Lodge, the new eight-bedroom home for the Wales family. While the transition may have come as a surprise, PEOPLE stated that the tenants did not receive eviction notices and were instead moved to 'similar or better housing' within Windsor Great Park.

'They were not expecting it,' a source told the Daily Mail. 'Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they're not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there.'
According to the outlet, additional privacy measures have already been put in place, including fresh shrubbery and screening around the property. Minor renovations are also underway, and a Kensington Palace spokesperson previously confirmed, 'The Wales family will move house later this year.'
As for Kate, she recently expanded her early childhood advocacy with the launch of a new educational project. On August 6, the Princess of Wales unveiled seven animated videos through her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, aimed at helping parents, caregivers, and professionals better support children's emotional and social development.
'Loving, responsive interactions with trusted adults help shape how children learn and grow, laying the foundations for future life health and happiness,' Kate explained in her announcement, noting that the series highlights how everyday relationships influence brain development.

80s Rocker Details Ozzy Osbourne's Private Funeral Service
80s Rocker Details Ozzy Osbourne's Private Funeral Service originally appeared on Parade. Ozzy Osbourne's private funeral service was the perfect blend of sadness and humor — perfectly reflecting the Prince of Darkness himself according to one attendee. On Thursday, July 31, the Black Sabbath frontman was laid to rest during an intimate service at Welders House, his Buckinghamshire estate where he and wife Sharon Osbourne bought back in 1993. Guests included his bandmates, family, plus other rockers like Rob Zombie, Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson and Metallica's Robert Trujillo, who also opened up about the private ceremony. According to Blabbermouth, on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk on Thursday, August 7, Trujillo called the event 'very, very beautiful' despite the sadness. 'Some of the speeches were — as you could imagine — pretty funny. And there were a lot of tears,' he said. He described how Geezer Butler's emotional eulogy brought him to tears, calling it 'an amazing' tribute. RELATED: Ozzy Osbourne's Final Text to a Close Friend Will Break Your Heart The day also had its share of "magical" moments. Rain fell early on in the service, but 'when Kelly [Osbourne] was singing, her lyrics flew — the wind blew her lyrics away. It was almost like Ozzy was having fun with her,' Trujillo recalled. Moments later, as Butler spoke, Trujillo said that 'the sun actually came out… a very magical moment.' Trujillo also recalled how guests shared stories that sparked both laughter and tears. 'There were so many stories… So, it felt like there was a closure from this,' Trujillo said. One day earlier, fans in Birmingham honored Ozzy with a massive public tribute attended by Sharon, their son Jack, and daughters Kelly and Aimée Osbourne. Ozzy's son, Louis Osbourne, was also in attendance. Osbourne died on July 22 from an 'out of hospital cardiac arrest,' according to the New York Times. The attack was linked to acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction. Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's back in 2019. 80s Rocker Details Ozzy Osbourne's Private Funeral Service first appeared on Parade on Aug 9, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 9, 2025, where it first appeared.

Iconic '80s Rocker's Guitar Expected to Sell at Auction for Over $2 Million
Iconic '80s Rocker's Guitar Expected to Sell at Auction for Over $2 Million originally appeared on Parade. A legendary piece of rock history is hitting the auction block — and it's expected to sell for a jaw-dropping price. A Kramer guitar once owned by Eddie Van Halen, and later played by Mötley Crüe's Mick Mars, will headline Sotheby's Rock & Pop auction on October 24, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. The instrument, modeled after Van Halen's iconic Frankenstein guitar with its red, black, and white design, is estimated to sell for between $2 million and $3 million. Van Halen used the guitar extensively during the band's 1982-1983 Hide Your Sheep Tour, taking it to stages across the world. According to the outlet, the guitar features a personal inscription from the late guitarist to his longtime technician, Rudy Leiren, that reads: "Rude - Its Been a Great Ten Years – Lets Do Another Ten. Eddie Van Halen." RELATED: '80s Rocker Details Ozzy Osbourne's 'Very Beautiful' Private Funeral Service After its years on tour with Van Halen, the guitar landed with Mars, who purchased it from Leiren. Mars went on to use it during the recording of Mötley Crüe's 1989 album Dr. Feelgood. The auction lot includes its original factory case and a letter of authenticity from Mars, in which he wrote: "…Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Also it's a great piece of history." This isn't the first time a Van Halen guitar has commanded a staggering sum at auction. In 2023, the custom Kramer guitar he played in the 'Hot for Teacher' music video sold for $3.9 million. Sadly, Van Halen died on October 6, 2020 due to complications from throat cancer at 65 years old. His son, Wolf Van Halen broke the news on X at the time with the following statement: 'I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.' Iconic '80s Rocker Reveals Ghost of Eddie Van Halen Visited Him in His Hotel Room
Iconic '80s Rocker Reveals Ghost of Eddie Van Halen Visited Him in His Hotel Room originally appeared on Parade. It's not every day a rock legend says he shared a cigarette with the ghost of Eddie Van Halen. During David Lee Roth's Wednesday, August 13, show in Hampton Beach, NH, the legendary Van Halen frontman claimed he was recently visited by the ghost of Van Halen himself — though not in quite the same way his former bandmate, Sammy Hagar, once described. Back in 2022, Hagar shared with UCR that Van Halen had appeared to him in a dream, even gifting him a guitar riff. 'I remembered it. I got up in the morning and I wrote the song. I used the f**kin' lick that he showed me in the song,' Hagar said at the time. That riff eventually became part of the track 'Encore, Thank You, Goodnight,' released nearly three years later. RELATED: Iconic '80s Rocker's Guitar Expected to Sell at Auction for Over $2 Million Roth, meanwhile, couldn't resist putting his own spin on the story. 'One of my esteemed colleagues, he's a contemporary, he's got a great voice, he's got a great catalog. You all know Sammy Hagar, right? He's got a great voice,' Roth, 70, told the crowd before recalling Hagar's ghostly tale. Then came his punchline: 'I don't know what the odds are, but last night the ghost of Eddie Van Halen visited me at the f**king hotel room. I was watching the weather report and he came in and he was laughing. His f**king ghost was laughing.' According to Roth, Van Halen told him the riff Hagar believed was a divine gift was actually just Iron Butterfly's 'In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida' played backward. The bit drew laughter from the audience as Roth delivered it in the middle of performing 'Dance the Night Away.' But the moment ended on a more heartfelt note. Roth said he and Van Halen's ghost shared a cigarette, and he confessed, 'Man, do I f**king miss you.' Van Halen, he claimed, replied, 'I miss you too, Dave. But you know what? You should still go to hell.' Roth quipped back: 'Save me a seat.'
