Russian President Vladimir Putin raised serious concerns over a potential World War III during a key address at the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). Speaking during a plenary session, Putin said rising regional tensions must not be taken lightly."It does concern me. There is no irony about it, this is no joke," Putin said, responding to a journalist who asked if he feared the world was heading toward WW3.Putin pointed to several ongoing crises. He cited his own country's war against Ukraine, instability in the Middle East, and recent attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran by Israel . 'These conflicts need serious attention and peaceful solutions,' he said.He also revealed he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and US President Donald Trump. Putin said Russia had shared its vision for resolving the Iran-Israel crisis and hoped those proposals would be implemented.The Russian leader criticized western dominance and said the world is undergoing a shift in power. "The G7's share of the global economy is shrinking. BRICS is growing. These are objective trends, and the changes they bring are inevitable," he said.Putin said Russia and China were not forcing a new world order but were helping shape a more balanced one. 'It is rising naturally, like the sun,' he added.He reiterated his claim that Russians and Ukrainians are one people. 'In that sense, all of Ukraine is ours,' he said. However, he added that Russia has never opposed any nation's desire for sovereignty.He accused Kyiv of rejecting early peace proposals and said Ukraine refused to withdraw troops from disputed territories. 'From the outset, we urged Kiev to end the conflict. They refused,' Putin said.

No reply from Azerbaijan, Kol prof heads to Armenia
1 2 Kolkata: After waiting for four days for the migration code from the Azerbaijan authorities, Falguni Dey, the geography professor from Kolkata who travelled 1,000 km from Tehran to reach Astara, will now have to head towards Armenia, where Indian nationals are being allowed to cross the border. Dey left Tehran on Sunday in a car and travelled for nearly 40 hours to reach Astara. While he escaped the war-ravaged Tehran along with thousands of Iranians and foreign nationals, he had applied for the e-visa with the Azerbaijan authorities. He initially planned to move to Baku after crossing the border and catch a flight to India from there. "Azerbaijan was allowing US and Russian nationals to cross the border via Astara. There was no bar for Indian nationals. I presumed they would allow Indians too and waited for their approval. But it seems that the permission has got stuck in diplomatic tangles," he said. On Friday, an exasperated Dey sounded helpless. "I needed a migration code for my e-visa application. Four days have passed since I applied. "The Nurduz-Agarak area in Iran is around 450 km from Astara. I don't have cash, and I am clueless about paying for a car to drive me there. But I have to take a chance and get out of Iran anyhow," he said.
