He, however, suffered a major setback on the latest episode of the blue brand when he failed to quality for the Money in the Bank match at the Premium Live Event of the same name this May 7. The match, which also includes Jimmy Uso, was won by Solo Silkoa. Now, the reason behind this loss has seemingly been revealed.
Is Worlds Collide the reason Rey Fenix lost on SmackDown?
Rey Fenix, who failed to win his Money in the Bank qualifier, is advertised for a meet-and-greet event ahead of AAA's Worlds Collide, which will also feature talents from NXT and TNA. The event will be held on June 7, alongside the Money in the Bank show. The Mexican star is expected to appear at Worlds Collide, which explains the decision to keep him off the MITB card.
There's, however, no word on what role he'll be playing at the cross-promotional event. That said, one can expect him to be involved in some type of a match or at least cut a promo.
How did Rey Fenix fare at WrestleMania 41?
Rey Fenix recently made his WrestleMania debut at the 41st and latest edition of 'The Show of Shows' when he took on El Grande Americano in a singles match. Rey Mysterio was originally supposed to take on Americano but was ruled out with an injury. Following this, Fenix took his place and put in a good effort despite coming up short. Penta, Fenix's brother, too had a match at WrestleMania 41.
