Mukesh Khanna returns as ‘Shaktimaan' for audio series; says ‘It's an emotion that lives in the hearts of millions'

Known for creating and portraying the titular role, Mukesh Khanna says the character holds timeless relevance. 'Shaktimaan isn't just a show, it's an emotion that lives in the hearts of millions,' he shared. 'I'm thrilled to return as the voice of the beloved hero and connect with a whole new generation of listeners.'
The audio series promises a new storyline and setting, while staying true to the core essence of Shaktimaan — courage, truth, and moral strength.
'This platform offers a great way to reintroduce Shaktimaan's values, strength, and superpowers, but with new tales to today's youth in a format they love,' Mukesh added.
Originally aired from 1997 to 2005, Shaktimaan followed the journey of a superhero who gains powers through deep meditation and the five elements of nature. His alter ego, Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, was a humble photojournalist with a secret identity.
The show also featured Vaishnavi Mahant (initially played by Kitu Gidwani) as journalist Geeta Vishwas, and Surendra Pal as the evil Tamraj Kilvish.
Over the years, Shaktimaan evolved into an animated series in 2011 and a TV film in 2013. In 2024, Khanna teased a revival of the franchise with a short teaser — and this audio version marks the latest chapter.
In collaboration with Bheeshma International, this new adventure brings original storytelling, a reimagined universe, and a powerful nostalgic connection — ensuring Shaktimaan continues to inspire across generations.

Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter has worked on many interesting projects since his debut in 2019. However, the script of his recently released streaming show 'The Royals' is the quickest he rummaged through to get an understanding of his character. The actor recently spoke with IANS, and shared that he was hooked on to the script right off the bat. He also shared that the character assured him a certain novelty as he read through the script of the show. Speaking with IANS, the actor shared, "This is the quickest I've read a series of scripts.
