Riverside County Sheriff's investigates wild donkeys injured by arrows
Deputies are working with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Riverside County Department of Animal Services to locate the injured animals and make sure they receive veterinary care.
"The safety and welfare of animals in our community is a priority, and we are committed to holding those responsible accountable," the sheriff's department said.
Harming a donkey or any animal is a criminal offense.

1 teen killed, 2 others wounded in Coachella shooting
One teenage boy was killed and two others were wounded during a shooting in Coachella on Saturday. It happened at around 3:45 a.m. at a home in the 49000 block of Corte Molino, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. "Upon arrival, deputies discovered three adolescent males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," the release said. One of the boys was declared dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified. The two other victims were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, deputies said. RSO homicide investigators assumed the investigation and have yet to determine a motive or identify a potential suspect in the incident. Passenger ejected, killed after crash into disabled big rig in Tracy
A passenger died after crashing into a disabled big rig on Interstate 205 in Tracy Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash happened just after 6 a.m. on eastbound I-205 east of MacArthur Boulevard. The CHP said the driver of the Toyota drove from the first lane and across the second and third lanes toward the right shoulder, where the truck crashed into a disabled big rig. The right side of the Toyota crashed into the left rear of the trailer, and a passenger was ejected from the Toyota and died, the CHP said. DUI is not suspected to be a factor, the CHP said. The crash remains under investigation. The identification of the victim has not been released. It's unknown if there were any other injuries.
