Ellie Goldstein makes acting debut in iconic drama Malory Towers
Ellie has already made history as the first model with Down's syndrome to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine. Known for her groundbreaking work in the fashion industry and high-profile campaigns, she's now bringing her talent and charisma to the screen in the television adaptation of Enid Blyton's classic novels.
Now in its sixth season, Malory Towers follows the adventures of Darrell Rivers and her friends at an all-girls' boarding school in post-war Britain. The series is a nostalgic celebration of friendship, fun, and growing up - complete with midnight feasts, pranks, and heartfelt moments. Showcasing quintessentially British storytelling, Malory Towers was filmed in studio in Bristol and on location at the beautiful setting of Hartland Abbey in North Devon, as well as other picturesque locations along the Cornish coast.
Ellie's character, Nancy, arrives at Malory Towers with her guardian, who is none other than the girls' previous much-feared Matron, played by Ashley McGuire, making a welcome return to the series. Nancy, who has Down's syndrome, is a passionate history enthusiast and quickly proves herself to be a formidable lacrosse goalie.

Series 6 also welcomes newcomer Celeste (Ciara Prioux), alongside familiar faces Darrell Rivers (Ella Bright), Gwendoline Mary Lacey (Danya Griver), Sally Hope (Sienna Arif-Knights), Alicia Johns (Zoey Siewert), Mary-Lou (Imogen Lamb), Irene (Natasha Raphael), Jean (Beth Bradfield), Bill (Amelie Green), Felicity (April V Woods), June (Edesiri Paula Okpenerho), Susan (Ava Azizi), Clarissa (Amy Roerig) and Josephine (Emily Costtrici. Also reprising their roles are Ron Gilson (Jude Harper-Wrobel), Mr Parker (Jason Callender), Mam'Zelle Rougier (Geneviève Beaudet), Matron Maher (Ashley McGuire), Matron Shipley (Amanda Lawrence) and Headteacher Miss Grayling (Jennifer Wigmore).
Malory Towers has been adapted for television by Rachel Flowerday and Sasha Hails. Episode 8, in which Ellie first appears, is written by Billie Collins.
Malory Towers is produced by David Collier, and executive produced by Jo Sargent and Yvonne Sellins for King Bert Productions. It is produced in association with BYUtv and WildBrain, who are also global distributor of the series.
Malory Towers was commissioned by Sarah Muller, Senior Head of BBC Children's Commissioning 7+ and the series is executive produced by Anita Burgess for the BBC.

William Buick guides Ombudsman to Godolphin glory at York despite almighty scare
Drama and uncertainty: they are at the heart of the best sporting thrillers, whether a ball is being kicked, a club is being swung or a horse is being ridden. Crowds love a cliffhanger, they invest emotionally when time ticks away, and how they were absorbed at York, one of racing's greatest stages. The £1.3m Juddmonte International, its flagship race of the year, never disappoints and the latest renewal left the towering grandstands humming. Ombudsman, the 7/4 favourite, came out on top but that tells you only a fraction of what happened over a mile-and-a-quarter and two minutes and seven seconds of unrelenting drama. For a significant proportion of this championship event, it seemed as if one of the greatest shocks ever might unfold. Birr Castle, trained in France by Andre Fabre, was supplemented for the race last Thursday at a cost of £80,000 by Ombudsman's owners Godolphin. The intention was to set an honest pace and that's why he was sent off at odds of 150/1. But when the field turned for home, Birr Castle was skipping along in splendid isolation and, all of sudden, you began to wonder whether a shock even bigger than the one at Glorious Goodwood, when Qirat won the Sussex Stakes was about to unfold. There were gasps when, with 500 yards to run, Birr Castle was still clear but then Ombudsman did what only the truly exceptional racehorses can do and shot clear with an electrifying turn of foot. One moment stage, he was six lengths behind; the next he was three lengths clear. 'Andre said to me: 'I would like the same result as Goodwood' and, you know, I thought his request was going to come true,' said John Gosden, who trains Ombudsman with his son, Thady. 'But when William (Buick, jockey) let him go, he absolutely flew. He's a very, very good horse. 'He went from second gear to fifth gear, just like that. He has taken it away from Delacroix, the runner-up, and turned things around after the Coral-Eclipse, where Delacroix had beaten us. I'm just going to have call Andre and tell him he frightened the living daylights out of us!' The drama did not stop there, though, as it was sobering to see Lambourn, the dual-Derby winner being beaten so emphatically in the SkyBet Great Voltiguer Stakes. Victory went to Pride Of Arras, trained by Ralph Beckett, who improved after significant operation in July. 'We had to geld him,' said Beckett, who has dreams of running Pride Of Arras in the Breeders Cup Turf in November. 'The game's gone as far as him being a stallion but he's now back to where we hoped he'd be.'

BBC MasterChef fans demand contestant is 'disqualified' after major error
MasterChef viewers were left fuming after a contestant made a huge error during a taste test with judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode - and they demanded he be disqualified BBC audiences called for a contestant's immediate removal from MasterChef following a catastrophic error during judging. The remaining six contenders - Naomi, Martin, Joy, Michael, Reuben and Victoria - faced the challenge of impressing Gregg Wallace and John Torode with their "basic to brilliant" creations. Contestants were instructed to transform everyday home cooking into something "extraordinary". IT project manager Reuben chose to present traditional beef and pork mince meatballs alongside handmade pappardelle pasta in tomato sauce. Catastrophe unfolded when Gregg sliced into the meatballs, revealing they remained completely raw inside, reports the Express. Despite compliments for his pasta and sauce, the judges didn't mince their words about the glaring issue. Gregg declared: "Big issue with the meatballs," whilst John stated: "I cannot ignore the fact that you've got meatballs that aren't cooked all the way through." A dejected Reuben confessed: "I'm feeling deflated. After all, they weren't cooked all the way through, so I can forgive them for not wanting to eat them." Viewers immediately flooded social media, demanding his elimination for the dangerous mistake. One viewer said: "Undercooked meatballs should be instant disqualification." Another questioned sarcastically: "Were they cooked with a blowtorch?" A third declared angrily: "Sorry, but that's a major schoolboy error at the stage he should absolutely be disqualified. Shame." This will be the last series for Gregg Wallace and John Torode, with both the BBC stars being axed. Gregg was axed from the show after law firm Lewis Silkin upheld 45 out of 85 complaints against Wallace of inappropriate behaviour. While the 60-year-old has admitted using inappropriate language at times, he denies the more serious allegations. John did not have his contract renewed with Banijay UK - who make MasterChef - after he was alleged to have used racist language amid an investigation into his former co-star's behaviour. He claimed he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened. The BBC came under fire for their decision to air this new series featuring both Gregg and John. They issued a statement, which read:"After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey. "This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC."
