Dwight Howard's wife Amy Luciani files for divorce after 6 months of marriage

Express Tribune09-07-2025
Dwight Howard's whirlwind marriage to rapper and reality star Amy Luciani has come to an abrupt end. Luciani filed for divorce on July 1, 2025, just six months after they tied the knot in a private ceremony in January.
Court documents cite that the marriage is 'irretrievably broken' and request equal division of marital assets and alimony. A mutual restraining order was filed one day later.
The couple first went public in December 2024 with an engagement announcement on social media, followed by wedding-related posts and a trip to Thailand, which Howard hinted was their honeymoon. The relationship was largely kept out of the spotlight prior to their engagement.
Luciani, born Amber Rose in Detroit, rose to fame through her music and her appearances on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. A former member of the girl group Entrance, she began her solo rap career in Atlanta, releasing her first EP Amy's World in 2023.
Outside of entertainment, she is also known for her charity work supporting unhoused communities and has authored a children's book on body safety.
This was Howard's most public relationship since his split from WNBA star Te'a Cooper in 2021. The situation remains developing, and neither party has publicly commented on the divorce filing.

‘Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' prequel casts Iris Apatow and Edvin Ryding in key roles

Lionsgate has announced major casting updates for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, with Iris Apatow and Edvin Ryding joining the anticipated prequel as new faces in the Capitol. The film, set for release in November 2026, centres on a young Haymitch Abernathy, years before he becomes Katniss Everdeen's drunken mentor and takes audiences back to the 50th Hunger Games. Apatow, known for her roles in The Bubble and Love, will portray Proserpina Trinket, a Capitol stylist who appears to share more than a surname with Effie. Edvin Ryding, best recognised for his breakout in Netflix's Young Royals, steps in as Vitus, Haymitch's image strategist during his time in the Games. Their characters form part of the prep team tasked with turning Haymitch into a presentable tribute for the deadly arena. Joining them are Jax Guerrero as Tibby and Sandra Förster as Hersilia, both playing original characters created for the film. Joseph Zada, already confirmed to play young Haymitch, leads the cast. Sunrise on the Reaping explores the events of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, which forced each district to send double the usual number of tributes. The film promises a grittier look into how the Capitol manufactures spectacle and trauma. Fans can expect an origin story that delves into how Haymitch's cynicism and survival instincts were forged in blood and betrayal. With Lionsgate banking on a successful return to Panem after the modest success of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, this cast announcement signals a bold move to blend rising Gen Z talent with an established franchise. As excitement builds, eyes now turn to how this new ensemble will reinvent a familiar dystopia for a new generation.

Adin Ross slams LeBron James for supporting Kendrick Lamar's Drake diss track

Popular streamer Adin Ross has sparked controversy after criticizing NBA star LeBron James for dancing to Kendrick Lamar's track Not Like Us, which takes aim at rapper Drake. During a livestream on July 22, 2025, Ross reacted to a clip showing LeBron and his wife dancing to the diss track at a recent event. Adin Ross goes off on LeBron James for dancing to 'Not Like Us' by Kendrick Lamar 'As i love LeBron my whole life, you can just see what a piece of shit human he is… How can you respect someone that has no loyalty with someone he has known for 15 years' — FearBuck (@FearedBuck) July 23, 2025 Ross, who described himself as a longtime fan of LeBron, voiced disappointment and called the NBA player a 'piece of s**t.' He noted that LeBron had known Drake for years and even met his children, making it, in Ross's view, a betrayal for James to support a track that includes allegations against the Canadian rapper. 'This is not my beef,' Ross said, 'but I'm very close with Drake. It does affect how I see LeBron. You guys can call me parasocial, but how could you respect someone with no loyalty to someone they've known for 15 years?' Ross's remarks quickly spread across social media, prompting a wave of reactions on platform X. Some users mocked Ross for appearing to value his connection to Drake over his relationship with LeBron James and his son Bronny. Others suggested Ross was overstepping by inserting himself into a dispute he wasn't directly involved in. The incident comes days after Ross drew backlash for calling the WNBA a 'tax write-off' and claiming it generates 'no revenue,' further fueling criticism of his outspoken persona.
