'Dhadak 2' Box Office collection day 4: Siddhant Chaturvedi-Triptii Dimri's film earns just Rs 1.4 crore on Monday; faces heat from ‘Mahavatar Narsimha' and Ajay Devgn's ‘Son of Sardaar 2'
and Triptii Dimri teamed up for 'Dhadak 2', a film that had all the right ingredients, powerful performances, a meaningful message, and mostly decent reviews. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, this Hindi remake of the Tamil film 'Pariyerum Perumal' was expected to make waves at the box office.
But four days in, the numbers tell a different story.
Dhadak 2 Movie Review
A promising weekend, but a worrying Monday
After a fair start on Friday, the film managed to grow over the weekend. 'Dhadak 2' opened with Rs 3.5 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday, and peaked on Sunday with Rs 4.15 crore, its best day yet. However, the real test came on Monday, and unfortunately, the film stumbled. Early estimates suggest that 'Dhadak 2' collected only Rs 1.40 crore on Day 4, taking its total box office collection to Rs 12.80 crore.
Although a drop is normal on Mondays, this sharp fall has raised concerns about the film's long-term performance, especially since it didn't see a major jump even during the weekend.
Facing a tough crowd at the box office
One major reason behind 'Dhadak 2''s struggle could be the strong competition it is up against. The film released alongside
Ajay Devgn
's 'Son of Sardaar 2', which performed better with Rs 2.50 crore on Monday, and a four-day total of Rs 27.25 crore.

Another strong contender is 'Mahavatar Narsimha', which made a solid Rs 8 crore on Monday. And then there's 'Saiyaara', a clear crowd favourite that continues to draw audiences, earning Rs 2.5 crore on Monday alone. With such big titles in theatres, 'Dhadak 2' is struggling to hold its ground and attract footfalls.
A new story, not a direct sequel
While the film is titled 'Dhadak 2', it is not a continuation of the 2018 film 'Dhadak'. Instead, it stands alone with a fresh storyline and characters.
The plot follows a law student who falls in love with his classmate. But things take a dark turn when her family begins to harass him due to caste differences. The film tries to tackle social injustice through a love story.
Day 4 occupancy
'Dhadak 2' saw modest theatre attendance on Monday, with an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.26%, as per early data. The film struggled to fill seats in the morning with just 8.36%, but witnessed a slight improvement as the day progressed, 15.30% in the afternoon, 14.59% in the evening, and 18.80% during night shows.
Box office performance so far
Day 1 (Friday): Rs 3.5 crore
Day 2 (Saturday): Rs 3.75 crore
Day 3 (Sunday): Rs 4.15 crore
Day 4 (Monday): Rs 1.40 crore (early estimates)
Total (4 days): Rs 12.80 crore
Will the film bounce back?
The big question now is whether 'Dhadak 2' can pick up pace again. With just Rs 1.40 crore collected on Day 4, the chances of it reaching a big milestone soon look slim unless something changes mid-week. It's not impossible, but for that to happen, the film will need to gain a stronger hold at the box office, especially in the face of heavy competition.

The Indian cinema has some very exciting releases over the next few months. Fans are eagerly waiting for action-packed thrillers, romantic comedies, and horror-comedy dramas. Pinkvilla predicts the opening day India Hindi nett collections for War 2, Coolie, Param Sundari, Dhurandhar, and The Raja Saab. Here's what we expect these films to earn on their first day. Upcoming Movies And Their Expected Day 1 India Net Hindi Collections 1. War 2: August 14, 2025 Predicted Opening: Rs 50.00 crore to Rs 52.00 crore War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, this action thriller is part of YRF's Spy Universe. The trailer has created huge buzz with its high-octane action and star power. Despite clashing with Coolie, the film's release on August 14, 2025, during the Independence Day weekend, should boost its numbers. We predict a massive opening of Rs 50.00 crore to Rs 52.00 crore for the Hindi version, driven by its pan-India appeal and premium formats like IMAX and Dolby Cinema. 2. Coolie (Hindi): August 14, 2025 Predicted Opening: Rs 3.25 crore to Rs 3.75 crore Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is a Tamil action thriller starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, and Shruti Haasan, with a cameo by Aamir Khan. The Hindi-dubbed version releases on August 14, 2025, clashing with War 2. The film's gritty action and emotional storytelling are generating buzz, especially in urban multiplexes. However, the clash may limit its Hindi market share. We expect Coolie to open between Rs 3.25 crore and Rs 3.75 crore in Hindi net collections, with potential to grow if word of mouth is strong. 3. Param Sundari: August 29, 2025 Predicted Opening: Rs 11.00 crore to Rs 12.00 crore Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota, stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. This romantic comedy, set in Kerala, releases on August 29, 2025. Its cross-cultural love story and the catchy song Pardesiya have created good pre-release buzz. The film targets youth and family audiences, which could help it perform well in multiplexes. We predict an opening day collection of Rs 11.00 crore to Rs 12.00 crore, with positive reviews likely to push its weekend numbers higher. 4. Dhurandhar: December 5, 2025 Predicted Opening: Rs 21.50 crore to Rs 22.50 crore Dhurandhar, a Ranveer Singh starrer, is an action-comedy directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Set to release in 2025, the film has generated mixed-to-positive buzz due to its quirky premise and Ranveer's energetic performance. The movie's mass appeal and action-packed trailer could attract audiences in both multiplexes and single screens. We predict an opening day collection of Rs 21.50 crore to Rs 22.50 crore for the Hindi version. 5. The Raja Saab: December 5, 2025 Predicted Opening: Rs 10.00 crore to Rs 12.00 crore The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, stars Prabhas, Malavika Mohanan, and Sanjay Dutt. This horror-comedy with romantic elements releases on December 5, 2025, in multiple languages, including Hindi. Prabhas' star power and the film's unique blend of horror, comedy, and romance have created strong buzz. Horror-comedies like Stree 2 have done well in Hindi markets, and we expect The Raja Saab to open between Rs 10.00 crore and Rs 12.00 crore in Hindi net collections.

While none of the actors have opened up on their dating rumors, a source confirmed the speculations as per Showsha. The source said, 'Yes, it's true that they are dating.' The source further mentioned that the actors wanted to keep it low-key. 'But it's too new and they've no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they're unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they're quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts,' told the source. Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush's first meeting Reportedly, Mrunal Thakur met Dhanush in an event down South, from where the two started catching up. 'The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too.
