3 reasons John Cena should win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in his farewell tour

John Cena
has not had the best history with the
WWE
Intercontinental Championship in the company.
John Cena's farewell tour has been going strong and according to his plan of ruining wrestling.
He did the unthinkable by turning heel and used his antics to win his 17th World Championship, setting the record for most World titles.
However, there is one particular title that Cena has never won or even competed for on live television in WWE, the prestigious Intercontinental title.
The workhorse championship has been a symbol of excellence and held by countless legends and Hall of Famers in the company over the years. With Cena only having a few months left before drawing the curtain on his in-ring career, here are three reasons he should win the IC title before retirement:
3. Steal opportunity in his plan to ruin wrestling
John Cena let out years of frustrations and mistreatment of fans at the end of the 2025 WWE Elimination Chamber event.
He has been on mission to ruin the one thing he loved for over two decades. In doing so, he can steal another opportunity, much like the Undisputed WWE title, by clinching the Intercontinental title, which has been a stepping stone for many rising stars over the years.
2. Double Champion to establish further dominance as a heel
After defeating Cody Rhodes to become the Undisputed WWE Champion, John Cena has established his dominance over the WWE landscape with his demeanor as a monster heel.

The WWE Intercontinental title might just add more to that run should Cena become a double champion. This would be the first time in close to two decades that Cena could hold two titles at once which would be a sight to witness on the farewell tour.
1. The GOAT needs to become the
Grand Slam Champion
John Cena officially claimed the status of 'The Greatest of All Time' at WrestleMania 41 when he dethroned Cody Rhodes. However, should his farewell tour end without an WWE Intercontinental Championship reign, he would never be able to claim the status of a 'Grand Slam Champion.' The Cenation Leader has claimed all titles, except the IC championship, which is being a barrier in his road to achieving Grand Slam. This makes its highly important for his legacy to capture the workhorse title before riding off in the sunset.

Aaron Judge just ended 2017 Andrew Benintendi debate with one legendary statline

Aaron Judge just ended 2017 Andrew Benintendi debate with one legendary statline (Image via Getty) Back in 2017, a comparison was made between two of the best rookie players in baseball- Andrew Benintendi of the Boston Red Sox and Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. At that time, one well-known columnist chose Benintendi over Judge for the future. Eight years later, the numbers and career paths show a very different picture. Aaron Judge proves 2017 critics wrong with historic rise over Andrew Benintendi On August 21, 2017, a column published in The Boston Globe favored Andrew Benintendi over Aaron Judge as the better long-term pick. The writer pointed to their head-to-head matchups that season. In their first 15 games against each other, Benintendi had better results: 4 home runs and 12 RBIs, while Judge hit just .155 with 1 home run and 2 RBIs against the Red Sox. Benintendi was thought to be a powerful all-round performer at the time. During the 2018 ALCS versus the Houston Astros, he had already made a significant contribution by making a critical catch that enabled the Red Sox to win the series and afterward the World Series. Boston had Aaron Judge five seasons before he was dealt to the Kansas City Royals in February 2021. In 2022, he was subsequently chosen to be an All-Star. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? Although not quite elite, Benintendi is a good hitter with a career average of .269 as of the moment. The Yankees' captain, two-time MVP, and six-time All-Star is presently 33 years old. Breaking the American League record, he hit 62 home runs in 2022. In 2023, he had 58 home runs, 144 RBIs, and a.322 average. Leading the league in several areas, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging, and total bases, Judge is set to do so in 2025.
