NILA - Every child has a unique personality, but if given the right space, encouragement and opportunities to interact and play from an early age, they can develop their potential, especially in shaping how they think, act and communicate.

This is the concept behind Kidzooona Safari at AEON Mall in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, which caters to the needs of active children.
AEON Fantasy Malaysia general manager of operations Muhammad Hakmi Yahya said the indoor playground, inspired by the animated film 'Madagascar' and created for children aged two and above, features 16 interactive zones, including a vertical slider and a Tarzan trail.
"We specifically designed it for children who have high energy levels because we understand that Malaysian children are very active. So, our concept really fits the Malaysian market,' he said when met by Bernama during the launch of Kidzooona Safari yesterday.
Preschool teacher Fazillah Mohd Salleh said she was thrilled to see the changes in the behaviour of her pupils, especially those who are usually passive in class, while at Kidzooona Safari.
"I noticed my less active pupils became more enthusiastic once they arrived here. Not only that, their social skills improved because they were able to interact with other children who came to play here. It indirectly helps develop their social-emotional and cognitive growth,' she said. Fazillah added that the indoor playground helps boost children's confidence as many of the activities are sensory-based, one of them being the chatting segment during the 'Wau Chat' session.
"There may be parents who rarely bring their children out, so they're not used to socialising with others. But when such children come to a place like this (Kidzooona Safari), they feel happy and confident enough to jump and play freely because no one is scolding them,' she said, encouraging parents to expose their children to such activities.
Actress Farah Nadia Zainal Abidin, 35, better known as Nad Zainal, said interactive playgrounds like this are her top choice as they offer a safer and more comfortable environment for young children.
The mother of three added that the cleanliness of indoor playgrounds and the presence of staff to supervise the children are also key reasons she chooses to bring her children to such recreational centres.
"I usually prefer indoor places because I don't have to worry about the heat or rain. The kids can play freely, staff are monitoring them and as parents, we can just relax or watch from a distance,' she said.
The celebrity added that this type of environment is also an ideal space for children to socialise and build self-confidence in a healthy way, without relying on gadgets.
"I definitely limit gadget use at home. So, places like this give them the opportunity to socialise in a more fun and active way,' she said.- BERNAMA

Malaysia Proposes Three Key ASEAN Initiatives To Boost Regional Creative Industry

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has proposed three new key collaborative initiatives under its ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 to strengthen regional cooperation in the creative sector, said Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching. The initiatives are the ASEAN Co-Production Roundtable, a Green Filming and Sustainability Framework, and Youth Story Labs, aimed at promoting inclusive and forward-thinking narratives among the ASEAN youth generation. 'As part of our ASEAN Chairmanship, we hope to initiate three key areas of collaboration,' she said in her opening address at the ASEAN Film and TV Summit 2025, held in conjunction with the 8th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest), here today. Teo said these efforts reflect Malaysia's commitment to making the region's creative industry more dynamic, future-ready and people-centred. She also highlighted the country's achievements in attracting global productions through the Film in Malaysia Incentive (FIMI), which has supported 128 projects since 2013 with RM 419 million in rebates. The incentive has resulted in RM2.71 billion in direct investments into the local creative industry. Notable international productions include Sony Pictures and BBC's Lord of the Flies series filmed in Langkawi, while local animation Ejen Ali: The Movie 2 grossed RM 59 million across several markets, and Upin & Ipin expanded into gaming with a global release this month. Organised by National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), in collaboration with the Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and the Asian Film Alliance Network (AFAN), the summit provides a platform for policymakers, creators and investors to explore policy alignment and co-production opportunities. 'As the world faces new challenges, it is our shared stories that will connect us, inspire us, and carry ASEAN forward,' Teo said. Running until July 25, the summit will end with the Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) on July 26, recognising excellence in ASEAN and international filmmaking.

(Video) SEVENTEEN's Joshua, DK, & Dino Confirm Visit To Malaysia For Upcoming Mister Potato Event

Fans never tire of hearing exciting news about their favourite K-pop idols coming to Malaysia for concerts, fan meetings, or special appearances at brand events. We're only halfway through 2025, and the list of stars set to visit our shores is constantly being updated. Joining the list are three members of a popular boy group. Recently, Mister Potato Malaysia shared a photo featuring the silhouettes of three male idols, teasing K-pop fans with the news that they'll be making their way to Kuala Lumpur for a special appearance. Many made their guesses on who they could be, and it seems that the majority are correct! Last week, Mister Potato Malaysia announced their Jinjja Crunch collaboration with SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) members Joshua, DK, and Dino. The announcement video features the idols posing with three different flavours of the popular snack; Original, BBQ and Sour Cream & Onion. While an official statement regarding their visit to Malaysia has yet to be confirmed, the singers themselves appeared to spoil the surprise by posting a behind-the-scenes vlog of them filming promotional content for the brand. In the video posted yesterday (Tuesday, 22nd July), the members can be heard excitedly announcing that they'll be coming to Malaysia soon. 'We have 진짜 exciting news for you guys. We love you, Mister Potato! See you in Malaysia!' they said in the vlog. That particular moment quickly went viral among Malaysian fans, with many expressing their excitement about the visit. Some commented on how surprised they were to hear the news directly from the members before the brand had made an official announcement. Others are hoping that the upcoming event will be held at a larger venue, rather than a shopping centre, to accommodate not only meet-and-greet winners but also other fans who wish to see them in person. However, Joshua, DK, and Dino were not the first to spoil the surprise as MAMEE-Double Decker Group CEO, Mr. Pierre Pang, previously posted on his IG Story about the event when the brand first teased about the collab. At the time of writing, Mister Potato has yet to make the official announcement about the upcoming event with the 3 SEVENTEEN members. While we wait for more details, here's the behind-the-scenes vlog of the singers confirming their visit: The promo announcement video they filmed: Sources: Instagram, YouTube

PM celebrates new biography chronicling cartoonist Zunar's 50-year career

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (second right) and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail with cartoonist Zunar (second left) and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari (right) at the launch of 'Melukis Dengan Hati: Biografi Perjalanan Seni 50 Tahun Karya Zunar' at Pustaka Raja Tun Uda, Shah Alam on July 22. Photo: Bernama At the recent launch of Melukis Dengan Hati: Biografi Perjalanan Seni 50 Tahun Karya Zunar at Pustaka Raja Tun Uda, Shah Alam, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim praised cartoonist Zunar for his steadfast efforts to revitalise the local art scene through politically charged works, despite many challenges. The Prime Minister noted that while Zunar's cartoons may be sharp and uncompromising, they offer deep insights into current issues that society must understand - and often carry significant political impact. "An artist's sketches are the outpouring of the heart, driven by conviction. When a work is created freely and sincerely, the risks it carries are equally great," said Anwar. "He (Zunar) grew up in a country where free artistic expression was restricted, and he too was affected by that atmosphere. "Young people should understand that the situation has now changed - we provide space for expression. We may not always agree with the works produced, nor do they necessarily align with our tastes or the interests of those in power, but that is the essence of a democratic environment." Describing Zunar, whose real name is Zulkiflee Anwar Haque, as a close friend, Anwar also said the public should show appreciation for the artist's contributions by supporting his newly launched book, as many of his earlier works were reproduced without permission. "There is no denying that his cartoons were popular, but previously there was no copyright protection. They were distributed and reprinted freely. So, we should repay him by purchasing the book, because for decades he contributed during the reform era, yet people did not buy his works - they simply reprinted them,' he said. Melukis Dengan Hati: Biografi Perjalanan Seni 50 Tahun Karya Zunar spans 230 pages, and chronicles key milestones in the Kedah-born artist's career, from his early cartoons in Bambino and Gila-Gila magazines to his contributions in Berita Harian, Harakah, and MalaysiaKini. - Bernama
