Robert Downey Jr.'s Look From Avengers: Doomsday Leaked? Check Here
Last Updated:
A picture circulating on the internet shows an individual in full costume as the villainous Doctor Doom.
Marvel fans can finally get excited as the much-awaited Avengers: Doomsday has entered production, and we already have the most exciting scoop. Ever since the announcement about Robert Downey Jr's return as villain Doctor Doom, the anticipation has been at its peak, with the latest update likely to take things further. A few pictures have been circulating online, with many claiming it is Downey's full costume look as Dr Doom.
The picture in question shows an individual dressed in the full costume of Dr Doom; however, his face remains hidden. With the picture now going viral on the internet, fans have been discussing whether it is Downey inside the metallic armour and the dark green hood.
One can also spot the crew members, a dramatic setup, and cameras in position. Reacting to the picture, one commented, 'The suit looks comic-accurate!" while another countered, 'There is NO way RDJ is in a full getup on set. He hadn't worn an entire Iron Man suit since the first one. The suits are CGI, and so it's almost all capes."
An impressed fan praised the makers for going completely 'comic accurate." Another commented, 'Oh, this is real? I know so many people will say that Doctor Doom's suit looks bad because that's only the screening, and of course, they haven't completed it yet. This isn't his suit in the final version, and we will get confirmation 1-2 weeks before the movie, like Thunderbolts."
The now-viral picture came weeks after Robert Downey Jr. shared a photo from the film's sets, giving a nod to Jeremy Renner. 'Reading Renner's book and feeling stronger already… What a journey to wisdom … very instructive… a must read!" he posted on Instagram, while also flexing his biceps while reading Renner's My Next Breath.
The post had Downey sitting in front of his trailer with a poster of the comic book version of Doctor Doom that read, 'Do not Knock. Trust yourself."
Avengers: Doomsday's release date has been pushed from May 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026. While RDJ has been confirmed to be a part of the show, he will be joined by Marvel A-listers like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), and Florence Pugh (Yelena), among others.

Marvel bets big: THIS Avengers movie is world's costliest film at $1 billion; cast alone gets $250 million
Marvel Studios is going all in—and then some for what is the world's costliest movie being made at a budget of a jaw-dropping $1 billion, with at least a quarter of it spent on just its all-star cast. The studio is making this monumental bet on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) upcoming crossover event film, Avengers: Doomsday. From returning heroes like Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki to surprise additions like Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, the film spares no expense in packing in star power. In a surprising twist, Robert Downey Jr is all set for a return to the MCU, but not as Iron Man; he will be seen as the iconic villain Doctor Doom. While a massive chunk of Doomsday's budget goes into VFX, but what truly inflates the cost is its star-studded cast. With as many as 35 A-listers appearing in roles big and small, Variety reported that talent salaries alone may exceed $250 million. Directed by the Russo Brothers, who previously helmed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Doomsday is shaping up to be Marvel's most ambitious—and riskiest—bet yet. However, with such an unprecedented budget, the movie, slated for release on 18 December 2026, faces immense pressure to perform at the box office. According to Collider, Marvel shelled out $8 million on pre-production alone—more than three times what it spent on the entire Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which eventually cost $388 million. Forbes also revealed that Doomsday is racking up production costs at twice the weekly rate of Quantumania, prompting industry experts to estimate Marvel's final bill could hit between $500 and $600 million. That would far surpass Star Wars: Episode IX—the current record-holder for the most expensive production, with its $447 million price tag. But these are just the production costs. Marvel is expected to pour in millions more in marketing and global publicity. Industry estimates suggest that Avengers: Doomsday and its follow-up, Secret Wars, could each cost Disney and Marvel upwards of $1 billion. Until Secret Wars begins rolling, Doomsday holds the crown as the most expensive movie ever made. Avengers: Doomsday and its massive budget come with high stakes; If the movie does manage to touch the landing cost of $1 billion, it will need to be more than just a massive success at the box office to be profitable. Just to break even, the MCU film would need to earn substantially more than $1 billion. Industry analysts suggest that even surpassing the earnings of Jurassic Park ($912 million) or The Lord of the Rings (average gross of $987 million for the three films) may not guarantee profitability.

Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell discover a new world in trailer for The Big Bold Beautiful Journey. Watch
Sony Pictures has just released the trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, featuring stars Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell in the lead roles. The narrative has the two protagonists go through a series of doors that take them to a particular memory from their lives. Kogonada, known for films like Columbus (2017), After Yang (2021), and the series Pachinko (2022), will be at the helm of the project. The trailer starts with Sarah (Margot) and David (Colin) at a wedding, which both are attending alone, and two lonely people joining the celebration of a marriage seems to be a good starting point for their relationship as characters. Soon after the wedding, David is seen driving, and his GPS assistant asks him, 'David, would you like to go on a big, bold, beautiful journey?' to which he answers, 'Yes.' He then picks up Sarah, and the two of them begin this journey, knowing nothing of what lies ahead of them. Watch | Chris Hemsworth talks about legacy of Thor and his return in Marvel's Avengers Doomsday They start going through different doors together, soon realising that these are gateways to past memories. David makes a visit to his high school on the same day he got rejected by a girl he loved, while Sarah visits her mother from when she was sick and has since then passed away. The trailer seems to suggest that the doors don't take them to some random memories but take them to times which made an impact on their lives. Although, later on, David says, 'I want to go back to a time when I thought everything would work out for me,' so it's unclear whether they can control their destinations. A Big Bold Beautiful Journey seems to revolve around the theme of companionship and choosing to be happy in one's life. Although the film allows them to go into their past and maybe learn from it, David's last dialogue in the trailer is about accepting one's reality and sharing it with someone. He says, 'No matter who you are in your life, you just need someone to share it with.' Apart from Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, the cast of the film also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Hamish Linklater, Billy Magnussen, Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith and Yuvi Hecth.

World's most expensive film costs $1 billion, paid $250M in cast fees; may flop even if it out-earns Jurassic Park, LOTR
When James Cameron was making Titanic in the mid-1990s, reports of its extravagant budget had taken Hollywood by surprise. The film cost $200 million to make, and millions more were spent on its publicity and marketing. It took a windfall at the box office to ensure that Titanic did not sink (pun intended). So, imagine a film that is costing its makers several times more, and has a $250-million budget for cast salaries alone. The new most expensive film ever made is a gargantuan project that may put infrastructural undertakings to shame. Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) upcoming crossover event film Avengers: Doomsday will soon have the title of the world's most expensive film. Collider recently reported that Marvel has spent $8 million on its pre-production alone, more than thrice what was spent on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which eventually cost $388 million. Forbes also reported that the per-week production cost of Doomsday is twice as much as Quantumania, which has led to experts predicting that the film could cost Marvel Studios anything between $500-600 million. This is much higher than the production cost of Star Wars Episode IX, which currently holds the record with a production cost of $447 million. A post shared by Marvel Studios (@marvelstudios) But these are just the film's production costs. Marvel will spend millions of dollars more on marketing and publicity. Various reports have estimated that the two Avengers films—Doomsday and Secret Wars—could cost Disney and Marvel $1 billion each. Until Secret Wars begins production, this makes Avengers: Doomsday the most expensive movie ever. The cost of Avengers: Doomsday includes a heady dose of VFX, but is ballooned by its exorbitant cast. As many as 35 A-listers are to appear in the film in roles of varying lengths. Variety reported that cast salaries alone can cross $250 million for the film. If Doomsday does touch the landing cost of $1 billion as predicted, it needs to be a massive success at the box office just to be profitable. After including the distribution costs, the film would need to earn substantially more than $1 billion to break even. This means even if Doomsday earns more than blockbusters like Jurassic Park ($912 million) and the Lord of the Rings films (average gross of $987 million for the three films), it may end up being a box office failure. Directed by the Russo Brothers, Doomsday will be the fifth Avengers film and the 39th film in the MCU overall. The film features an ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr. It will feature the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the X-Men team up to face Doctor Doom (Downey). The film is slated for release on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
