The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences unveiled its Oscar nominees last month, including a diverse range of films, from the nearly four-hour historical drama "The Brutalist" to the fantasy musical blockbuster "Wicked."
Here is what you need to know about the upcoming awards show.
The 97th Academy Awards are set for Sunday, March 2, 2025.
The Oscars will air on March 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. CT.
The 97th Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
The awards ceremony has been held at the teather inside the Ovation Hollywood shopping center since 2001, according to the venue's website.

Conan O'Brien will host the 2025 Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced in November.
The March 2 telecast will mark the former late-night talk show host's first time hosting the film awards ceremony. The comedian has previously hosted the Emmys in 2002 and 2006.
There are three Texans up for Academy Awards this year.
Abraham Alexander, Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley received nominations for their work on the film 'Sing Sing.' The film explores how men discover purpose and redemption through a theater program within a notorious New York prison.

'Final Destination, where you're imagining all the things that could go wrong, worst case scenarios happening to your child,' the Bring It On star said in a new interview with Town & Country published on Wednesday, August 20. 'I have never seen that movie, but I know the concept. That's how it feels to be a mother at times.' Dunst added that the nearly tragic situation brought her and Plemons, 37, 'together as a family in such a deeper way.' Now that everyone is feeling better, the Oscar nominee said that she and Plemons promised to take their sons on vacation 'anywhere James wanted to go,' and they're heading to the Bahamas soon. His one request? 'A beach where his sandcastle won't wash away.' Dunst and Plemons first met on the set of Fargo Season 2 in 2015, but they didn't start dating until the following year. In 2017, Plemons got down on one knee and popped the question, and one year later, they welcomed their first son. James arrived in May 2021, and in July 2022, the couple officially tied the knot. ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman': Everything to know about Jennifer Lopez's return to the Oscar race as new trailer drops
Jennifer Lopez is posed to hustle her way back into the awards race in October. That's when her Sundance-premiering movie musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, opens to the general public courtesy of Roadside Attractions. A new trailer for the film landed on the world wide web today, offering a longer look at the Bill Condon-directed feature than the teaser that was released earlier in the summer. Based on the 1993 Broadway musical that was based on Manuel Puig's 1976 novel and its 1985 feature Oscar-winning film adaptation, the new Spider Woman earned strong reviews on the festival circuit and awards Lopez a showcase role tailor-made for Oscar season. First things first: no, this isn't an Into the Spider-Verse spin-off. Set in Brazil during the South American country's mid-20th century military dictatorship period, Spider Woman largely unfolds in a jail cell occupied by revolutionary Valentin Arregui (played by Diego Luna) and gay cinephile Luis Molina (Tonatiuh). Unbeknownst to Valentin, Luis has been offered an early release if he plays informant for the ruling junta.
