Weekly Recap
Monday, July 28, 2025- Episode #13175Carter (Vincent Stalba) admitted to killing Damian (Jermaine Rivers) to protect Cane's (Billy Flynn) future and then grabbed Lily (Christel Khalil) at gunpoint in a desperate bid to escape. Chance (Conner Floyd) intervened during the labyrinthine standoff and was shot when Carter pulled the trigger, later dying in Cane's arms. Devastated, Carter turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. Meanwhile, Nick (Joshua Morrow) had sustained a serious injury while escaping with Sharon (Sharon Case), who tended to him until Sally (Courtney Hope) arrived with aid. Once safe, Nick and Sharon shared a tender kiss. In the wake of Chance's death, Billy (Jason Thompson) surprised many by aligning himself with Cane and enlisted Phyllis's (Michelle Stafford) help in a plan to secure Chancellor in Chance's memory.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nate (Sean Dominic) drew closer after the death of Damian, while Victoria and Claire (Hayley Erin) privately mourned the loss of Cole (J. Eddie Peck). Kyle (Michael Mealor) learned of Cole's passing during a call with Claire, and upon returning to the train car he angrily blamed Audra (Zuleyka Silver) for luring him into the trip that kept him from being with Claire. Lily had tearfully informed Nate that Damian had been murdered, and when Cane came to say goodbye, she leveled blame at him and firmly told him never to return to Genoa City. Cane insisted he still believed in their bond, but Lily rejected him entirely.
Amy (Valarie Pettiford) was told by Nate in Chancellor Park that her son had been murdered by a man named Carter, which devastated her. She demanded answers about how and why he had been killed, then learned Carter had taken his own life after the act. Victoria and Adam (Mark Grossman) met with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Claire, postponed Cole's memorial, and agreed to work together to uncover Cane's real‑estate strategy and protect their family from his schemes. Claire found emotional comfort in Chelsea's support while struggling to process the loss of her father. Meanwhile, Victor (Eric Braeden) confronted Cane aboard the train, issued a clear warning to stay away from his family, and declared that war was on as Cane had aligned with Billy to escalate the conflict.
Kyle returned from France and reunited with Claire, who insisted on seeing him before her family despite Victoria's warnings and Victor's frustration. Kyle hugged Claire, avoided answering her questions about Victor and his time abroad. At Society, Audra and Nate struggled to reconnect; Audra apologized for not telling Nate about Damian directly and lamented her decision to go to Nice, while Nate grew suspicious of her vague responses about her company's woes and investor troubles. Jack (Peter Bergman) and Diane (Susan Walters) voiced concerns over Kyle's secrecy and hinted at forming an alliance with Cane to counter Victor's influence, worrying his silence could backfire.
Diane began digging into Cane's past, grilling Phyllis about his hidden secrets and blaming him for the deaths in France, while warning Phyllis she could soon get stabbed in the back by him. Jack, frustrated by Billy's decision to ask Cane to buy out his shares in Abbott Communications, announced he was severing business ties and opposed Cane's return. Meanwhile, at Chancellor Park, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) spent time with baby Aria until Daniel (Michael Graziadei) joined and offered support and encouraging her through single-parent struggles and bonding over simple moments. That same night at Society, Phyllis revealed to Daniel that Dumas had turned out to be Cane, swearing him to secrecy and teasing a new power play that might reshape Genoa City's business terrain

Dick's Creates In-house Studio to Create Sports Films
Dick's Sporting Goods is getting into the sports content business. The Pittsburgh-based retailer has launched Cookie Jar & A Dream Studios, an in-house content and production studio 'dedicated to telling powerful, human-centered stories through the lens of sport,' the company said Thursday. More from WWD Johnnie-O to Create Fan Gear for NFL Through New Licensing Deal Senator Warren to FTC: Block Dick's Sporting Goods' $2.4 Billion Foot Locker Acquisition EXCLUSIVE: Glamnetic and Fanatics Create Nail Sets Inspired by NFL, NCAA and MLB Teams The goal for the studio is to offer storytelling that will highlight the determination, triumphs and heartbreaks of sports. Although the studio is new, the retailer has been dabbling in sports storytelling for more than a decade. In 2014, it debuted its first documentary feature, 'We Could Be King,' which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Documentary. This past spring, the company picked up a second Emmy for 'The Turnaround,' a documentary that tells the story of Philadelphia Phillies' superfan Jon McCann. Over the past 10 years Dick's has produced five feature-length films and 10 short-form or episodic documentaries, with additional projects in the hopper. 'Dick's believes that sports have the power to change lives,' said Mark Rooks, vice president of creative, entertainment and sponsorships at Dick's. 'And we've seen through our work how true that is for so many who have excelled, triumphed against the odds, and been defeated in sport. There are so many incredible and inspiring human stories that deserve to be told, and we could not be more excited to showcase how individuals, teams and communities are shaping sport, bringing people together and unifying and building communities for thousands.' The official announcement of Cookie Jar & A Dream Studios coincides with the premiere of 'Big Dreams: The Little League World Series 2024' documentary. Produced in partnership with Imagine Entertainment and MLB Studios, the film will premiere on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. ''Big Dreams ' is a great example of the kind of projects Cookie Jar & A Dream Studios aims to produce,' said Rebecca Covington, senior director of creative production at Dick's. 'Being able to share big sports moments with fans is something that drives our team, and we look at the upcoming years with great excitement as we know there will be so many unforgettable stories deserving of the spotlight.' The name of the studio derives from the history of Dick's, which was founded in 1948 by 18-year-old Dick Stack, who borrowed $300 from his grandmother's cookie jar to open a small bait-and-tackle shop in Binghamton, N.Y. Today, the company is the largest sports retailer in the U.S. with more than 850 stores under the Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, Public Lands and Going Going Gone nameplates. Kelly Clarkson postpones Las Vegas residency due to ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's illness: What we know
The singer announced that the remaining August dates of her 'Studio Sessions' shows at Caesars Palace will be postponed while she tends to her family. Kelly Clarkson says she is postponing her Las Vegas residency so she can be with her children because their father, her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, has been ill. 'Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,' Clarkson announced in a post on Instagram. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.' The nature of Blackstock's illness was not disclosed. Clarkson added: 'I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.' The 'Since U Been Gone' singer's remaining shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace this month had been scheduled for Aug. 8-9 and Aug. 15-16. Her next run at the 4,100-capacity venue, which was previously announced, is set for November. According to Caesars Palace, ticket holders for the postponed dates can hold on to their tickets for rescheduled shows in 2026 or opt for a refund. According to Ticketmaster, Clarkson has six dates at Caesars scheduled for July and August 2026. Clarkson, 43, and Blackstock, 48, married in 2013. The couple announced their split in 2020, and their divorce was finalized in 2022. The American Idol alum and music manager have two children: River Rose, their 11-year-old daughter, and Remy Alexander, their 9-year-old son. Postponements and absences This is the second postponement of Clarkson's residency, which opened in July. The first show was abruptly postponed just hours before she was set to take the stage after the singer said that she needed to rest her vocal cords. "The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice," Clarkson wrote on Instagram on July 4. "I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.' In March, Clarkson stepped away from her eponymous daytime talk show for nearly two weeks while a variety of celebrities acted as guest hosts. When Clarkson returned, she cited only 'personal reasons' for her mysterious absence, which stirred speculation among fans that it could have something to do with Blackstock. News Nation subsequently reported that Blackstock was sick and that Clarkson skipped show tapings to take their children to see him. Solve the daily Crossword
