Girl's chilling social media posts before she was charged with parents' murder

Metro2 days ago
A teenage girl suspected of murdering her mum and step-dad shared several social media posts after their deaths that appear to show her devastation.
Sarah Grace Patrick, 17, has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault following the shootings of Kristin Brock, 41, and James Brock, 45, in the US.
After their deaths on February 20 Patrick posted several times on social media, speaking of her heartbreak and sharing selfies of herself crying.
One TikTok post in March she shows pictures of the couple with emotional music and text that read: 'They don't know it, but a year from now me and my 5-year-old sister would find them wrongfully shot dead in our home – and they won't get to watch me graduate high school, see me walk down the aisle, or even say goodbye.'
In a caption she wrote: 'I miss you guys, save a seat for me in heaven.'
Patrick, who handed herself into police last week, also made a tearful eulogy at the couple's funeral that was filmed and shared online.
James's niece Krysten Dowda said she thought at the time the crying seemed 'fake', with no actual tears.
The Brocks were shot dead in their beds in their home in Carrollton, west of Atlanta.

Patrick, who was 16 at the time and in the house when they died, called police and said her five-year-old sister Jaley had found the bodies.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared stolen.
One of Patrick's TikToks show her with mascara running down her face and the words: 'Life's hard but at least I have my mom.'
The post then cuts to photo of two urns beside a photo of Kristin and James with the caption 'Mom?'
In another post she shares a picture of herself looking emotional with the text, 'This can't be real. Otw [on the way] to my parents funeral.'
In a separate post she wrote about the anguish she said she feels over her sister finding the bodies.
'I can't help but hate myself because I didn't wake up to find them before my 5yo sister had to find her parents like that,' she says.
In another she adds: 'It hits me when I see my 5-year-old sister screaming for her mommy and daddy.'
In a number of her TikToks she pays heartfelt tributes to her mother.
In one she says: 'I don't know if she ever realized… that the person I most wanted to be was her.'
Her TikTok account was later deactivated, but the posts have resurfaced online. More Trending
According to authorities, 'mountains of physical and digital evidence' led to Patrick being charge, including her eulogy at the funeral.
Patrick's father Doniel Patrick was with her when she handed herself in and defended his daughter on Facebook.
'I'll always be in your corner,' he wrote, adding: 'Never dobt your place in this world. You were sent here with purpose, wrapped in grace and born to shine in ways only your soul knows how.'
Patrick has been charged as an adult.

Horrified couple find live maggots in their Morrisons lunch

A hungry couple were horrified to discover live maggots wriggling in their cheesy lunch - only for Morrisons to offer an 'insulting £3 compensation'. (Image: Kennedy News and Media) Recruitment firm consultant Cato, was "disgusted" by the discovery and immediately binned the £3 purchase. The 54-year-old said she then contacted Morrisons' live chat service to inform them of the "gross" find - but was "insulted" to be offered just a £3 voucher for her bug troubles. The couple have vowed never to buy their Brie from the supermarket chain again. Cato, from Taunton, Somerset, said: "Sean stopped in the Morrisons Daily garage to grab some lunch for the day. "We've never really shopped there before, we have Brie once in a while as a little treat. "Sean said 'your lunch is ready and by the way I don't think we'll have [the Brie]'. "I opened the Brie and thought 'what the heck? That is disgusting'. I stuck the brie in the bin but kept the wrapping. "It must've been left out, it can't have been left properly in the fridge. Someone must've left it on the shelf and perhaps it's been left out. "It's gross. I thought we should really let them know that that's not on. We could've easily eaten it. "It wasn't anything to do with the brand, it was how it was kept outside the fridge." Cato contacted Morrisons via their live chat service on Facebook to inform them of the issue, but was shocked when the retailer simply offered the couple a £3 refund. Cato said: "I contacted Morrisons on Facebook message, asked what to do and said it's dangerous for other people. "It was clear after numerous messages that I was talking to a bot. They offered a £3 voucher but I don't think it's about the money. "I do feel like I've tried contacting them a couple of times. But I feel like they couldn't be bothered to take it seriously. "The £3 refund was a bit of an insult. I just thought it was stupid really. I thought they would've taken it a bit more seriously. "We won't be buying Brie from there again." "We are now confident this was an isolated incident but have been back in touch with the customer this week to offer them a further gesture of goodwill." Woman who 'seduced and blackmailed Buddhist monks' caught by Thai police

The woman, aged in her 30s, is accused by police in Thailand of enticing celibate Buddhist monks into sexual relationships before demanding hush money from them A woman who allegedly 'seduced and blackmailed' a string of Buddhist monks has been arrested by police in Thailand. The Southeast Asian nation has been rocked in recent weeks by an emerging sex scandal involving a number of senior monks, with the behaviour falling foul of a strict celibacy rule in place for ordained members of the faith. At least nine abbots and senior monks involved have been disrobed and cast out of the monkhood, the Royal Thai Police Central Investigation Bureau said. On Tuesday, Wilawan Emsawat, in her mid-30s, was arrested at her home in Nonthaburi province north of Bangkok. She is accused of enticing Buddhist monks into sexual relationships, before pressuring them into making large payments to cover up their intimacy. Charges against her include extortion, money laundering and receiving stolen goods. Police said they traced money transferred to her by a senior monk from a bank account belonging to his temple in northern Thailand. Wilawan has not made a statement since her arrest, and it is unclear if she has legal representation. Speaking to local media before her arrest, she acknowledged a relationship with one monk and said she had given him money. Police said Wilawan deliberately targeted senior monks for financial gain, and said they found several monks had transferred large amounts of money after she initiated romantic relationships with them. Her bank accounts received around 385 million baht (£8.8 million) in the past three years, but most of the funds were spent on online gambling websites, police said. Jaroonkiat Pankaew, deputy commissioner of Thailand's Central Investigation Bureau, said the investigation began last month after an abbot of a famous temple in Bangkok abruptly left the monkhood. The intelligence service - equivalent to the the UK's National Crime Agency or US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) - has since set up a Facebook page for people to report misbehaving monks Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai has meanwhile ordered authorities to review and consider tightening existing laws related to monks and temples to restore faith in Buddhism, government spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub said yesterday. He added: "We will investigate monks across the country. I believe that the ripple effects of this investigation will lead to a lot of changes."

Seven officers investigated after man 'in crisis' dies during Boston arrest

Seven police officers are being investigated after a man they restrained outside of a Boston-area fish market died. The officers handcuffed Francis Gigliotti, 43, near Bradford Seafood restaurant in Havervill on Friday night. Gigliotti was captured on CCTV walking onto the middle of White Street and into traffic. The footage obtained by NBC10 Boston showed Gigliotti appearing to fall while exiting a store and hitting his head on a car. The restaurant owner said Gigliotti was acting out of control, but some witnesses who recorded the incident on their cell phones said the officers restraining him were using too much force. Gigliotti became unresponsive during the scuffle and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His fiancée, Michele Rooney, said he was having a mental health crisis and was not carrying any weapons. 'Eyewitnesses say more than six officers restrained him—piling on top of him—while he screamed out for help and ultimately stopped breathing,' Rooney wrote in a GoFundMe page for Gigliotti's funeral expenses. 'I am completely devastated. Francis should still be here.' Rooney told NBC10 that witnesses who were videotaping before she arrived said that Gigliotti was hollering, 'Help, help, get off of me, help me, help me.' 'They had their knee on his neck and they were sitting on him. They were like, it was like a giant pig pile on top of him,' Rooney said of the officers. 'He had a heart of gold, he would never hurt anybody, he was screaming for help and their way of helping him is killing him by applying pressure on him?' On Monday, Haverhill police Chief Robert Pistone Jr announced that the seven officers were put on paid administrative leave as the Essex County District Attorney's Office reviews the incident. The officers were not wearing body cameras, as the police department does not have them, according to Mayor Melinda Barrett. Since the 1990s, the US Justice Department has told officers to roll suspects off their stomachs when they are handcuffed to avoid asphyxia, which can lead to suffocation and death. Rooney said that the medical examiner told her it could take up to 60 days to determine Gigliotti's cause of death. Over the weekend, a vigil was held for Gigliotti and some protesters rallied outside the police department demanding answers. Anyone with videos or photos from the incident is urged to share them with the district attorney's office. The GoFundMe page had raised more than $5,200 as of Tuesday evening. More Trending 'We are now left to carry not only the pain of his loss,' Rooney wrote, 'But the burden of funeral costs and the legal fight for justice in his name.' Gigliotti was from Haverhill, a suburb about 35 miles north of Boston. He was the co-founder of Teddy Bear Roofing, according to a Facebook post by the company. 'We started this business together less than a month ago, after working side-by-side for the last four years. What we built was more than a company. It was a dream. And it was finally starting to take shape,' states the post. 'Francis was kind, hardworking, loyal, and full of life. He had so much ahead of him, and he didn't deserve this. None of this is okay.'
