Drake cancels Australia and New Zealand tour dates

Express Tribune2 days ago
Drake has officially canceled his postponed concerts in Australia and New Zealand, disappointing fans who had been awaiting new dates since the initial delays earlier this year. The affected shows, which were part of his Anita Max Win Tour, had originally been scheduled for March but were previously postponed due to what was described as a 'scheduling conflict.'
According to a statement released by Live Nation Australia on Tuesday, the concerts in Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland will no longer go ahead. 'Live Nation Australia regrets to inform you that the previously postponed Drake shows in Australia and New Zealand have now been officially cancelled,' the company said on its website. 'Despite extensive efforts to find a solution, rescheduling within the necessary timeframe was not possible. Drake remains committed to returning and performing these shows when his schedule permits.'
The Canadian rapper had already completed performances in several Australian cities, including Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, back in February. However, the planned second leg of the tour has now been scrapped entirely. Full refunds will be issued to all ticket holders.
Drake has yet to make a personal statement regarding the cancellation. He is currently continuing his Some Special Shows 4 U tour with fellow artist PartyNextDoor, with the next concert set for Wednesday night in Amsterdam.
Fans across Australia and New Zealand expressed frustration online over the lack of direct communication from Drake and the long wait for updates. Despite the setback, many remain hopeful he will eventually return for a future leg of the tour.

Justin Trudeau sparks dating rumors after attending Katy Perry's Montreal concert

Justin Trudeau has ignited fresh dating rumors after he was seen attending Katy Perry's Lifetimes Tour concert in Montreal on July 30, just two days after the pair were reportedly spotted dining together at a local restaurant. Photos and fan videos of the former Canadian Prime Minister at the Montreal concert quickly surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), showing him in the crowd during Perry's performance. The sighting follows a recent viral video posted by TMZ that shows Trudeau and Perry enjoying dinner and drinks at Le Violon, a well-known upscale restaurant in the city. The pair, who share a daughter, Daisy Dove, announced earlier this month that they had ended their romantic relationship and would focus on co-parenting. Trudeau, who stepped down from office earlier in 2025, also separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. In a joint statement, the couple emphasized their continued commitment to their children and family despite the separation. While neither Perry nor Trudeau has confirmed the nature of their relationship, the back-to-back public sightings have left fans buzzing on social media, calling the pairing 'wild' and 'unexpected.' As speculation grows, many are watching closely for the next public appearance from the rumored couple.

Tim Minchin happy he did not succeed in 20s

Tim Minchin's latest album Time Machine is a collection of songs that the now successful 49-year-old wrote, but never recorded, back in his twenties, when he couldn't get a record deal. After gaining critical success as a comedian in 2005, the British-Australian Minchin went on to write the music and lyrics for hit West End musical Matilda the Musical and signed with record label BMG in 2020. In an interview with Reuters, Minchin looked back on his new record as well as his songwriting and views on social media. Below are excerpts edited for length and brevity. Q: Your album is out, how does that make you feel? "I feel really reflective. But also I've reached a point in my career ... where I just feel like ... here's my offer ... and because I don't read social media anymore and I won't read reviews, it's just out in the world... And hopefully people listen to it." Q: How would you describe your music? "I think the way I use words is slightly different from a lot of singer/songwriters... Most pop songs, they're broad, you can hear in them what you want ... whereas mine are like – 'oh no, this is what the song's about'." Q: Is there a difference between writing music for yourself or characters such as Matilda? "I always feel like, in a way, I'm placing myself in someone else's shoes... some of my songs are really personal and they're really about me. But it is a craft – songwriting – and that can mean placing yourself in a particular emotional state." Q: Do you wish you had released this album in your twenties? "The greatest thing that ever happened to me is not getting success (then) ... it's terrible for people... I'm very happy that I'm just gently putting these songs out into the world (now)."

Miranda Kerr throws subtle shade or support? After Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's date

Miranda Kerr appears to have subtly taken sides in the unfolding post-breakup drama between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. On Tuesday, the supermodel shared a gallery of summer snaps on Instagram, including a video of Perry performing her hit 'California Gurls' on tour, just days after the singer was spotted on a cosy dinner date with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The post instantly set social media abuzz, with fans interpreting it as a quiet show of support from Kerr, Bloom's ex-wife, to Perry, his ex-fiancée. The two women, who co-parent children with the Lord of the Rings star, have long maintained a surprisingly warm relationship. In her 2022 interview, Miranda declared she 'adores' Katy, a sentiment echoed by followers who praised her Instagram post as a 'classy' and 'sweet' display of solidarity. The video was taken at Perry's Los Angeles stop on her Lifetimes tour earlier this month, where Kerr was seen beaming in the crowd alongside model Amélie Tremblay. The post also included glimpses of Kerr's Parisian getaway, homemade pastries with her son Flynn, and stylish dinner outings, but it was the Katy clip that drew the most attention. Meanwhile, Perry's Montreal dinner with Trudeau has reignited tabloid buzz. Footage showed the pair leaning in close at a candlelit table, with Trudeau listening intently as Perry gestured animatedly. The evening reportedly included a stroll in the park and terrace drinks all, amid Katy's ongoing tour and Trudeau's retreat from political life following his January resignation. As public eyes remain fixed on Perry's next move, Kerr's seemingly supportive gesture adds a new layer to the evolving web of celebrity exes and unexpected alliances.
