Tuskegee tops Morehouse 68-55 in HBCU Classic
Kevin Sesberry added 19 points and two steals as the Golden Tigers (11-12, 9-8 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) ended a three-game losing streak and held on to win in the match-up between the two Division II teams in the annual event that is a part of NBA All-Star Weekend.
Amahn Decker had 10 points and eight rebounds for Morehouse. The Maroon Tigers (13-11, 10-6) had won four of their previous five.
The game was played at the Oakland Arena, former home to the Golden State Warriors, about a 20-minute drive from the team's current home at Chase Center in San Francisco. The mood was festive all afternoon, with the crowd repeatedly breaking out into soulful singing and dancing.
The son of Martin Luther King Jr. was among those in attendance cheering, singing and shown on the big scoreboard above the court. The late civil rights activist attended Morehouse. Famed director Spike Lee sat neat the Morehouse bench.
Riding a three-game losing streak going into the game, Tuskegee overcame a sluggish start and led most of the first half despite missing 15 of its first 21 shots.
Sesberry paced the Airmen with 12 points, and Draper had four points as part of 9-0 run to end the first half, putting Tuskegee ahead 30-22 at the break.
The Golden Tigers led by 14 in the second half before coasting to the victory.
Morehouse did a great job getting to the line but couldn't capitalize, missing 13 of its 21 attempts from the stripe.

Garcia and the Rangers dropped to 60-59 on the season. This season, the two-time All-Star and former Gold Glove winner has a .661 OPS and is struggling individually. My Ultimate 136 is a set of rankings that is fluid, but it's my job to look ahead and make a claim for all FBS teams based on what I know and why I know it. Here are the three pressing questions I started by asking when putting together this list: Who do I think is good? Why do I think they're good? What are the chances they will finish above or below my expectations? Here is a look at where Wisconsin lands in my Ultimate 136. Wisconsin ranking: 51 Last year's ranking: 27 Top player: CB Ricardo Hallman: Was targeted 33 times in 319 coverage snaps last season and allowed just 20 catches, the second-fewest in the Big Ten among cornerbacks with 300-plus coverage snaps; was an AP Third-Team All-American in 2023. [Wisconsin's 2025 schedule] RJ's take: Stop me if you've heard this one before: Wisconsin is best when it runs the ball. Since the final game of the 2022 season, the Badgers are 12-0 when they rush for 150-plus yards. Jonah Tong, Jett Williams lead group of top Mets prospect promoted to Triple-A
Some of the top prospects in the Mets organization took a step up on Sunday night as the team called up its top pitching prospect to Triple-A, along with several of their top position prospects, The Athletic's Will Sammon reported. Right-hander Jonah Tong is being promoted to Triple-A Syracuse after lighting it up in Double-A, with a 1.58 ERA and 154 strikeouts in 19 starts. Mets promote Jonah Tong to Triple-A on is the No. 2 Mets prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and took part in the All-Star Futures Game in July.
