Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's return date confirmed by ITV - and it'll leave fans stunned

Daily Mail25-04-2025

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's return date has been confirmed by the IT V.
The programme, which first started airing in 1998, recently wrapped up its 40th series.
The first episode aired on January 26 and finished on 23 March this year.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's social media accounts told fans: 'That's it for tonight and the current series!
'Join us again, later in the year for more #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire… Good night!'
Some had no idea that the 40th series has been split into two halves, meaning that a second half will in fact be back on our screens very soon.
The quiz will be back on ITV1 on Sunday May 4 at 8pm.
Jeremy Clarkson will return as host after taking over the role from Chris Tarrant in 2018.
The show decided to stop filming in 2014, but in 2018 ITV rebooted the series and it has been on our screens ever since.
There have been 690 episodes over the past 27 years.
It comes after the celebrity special of the show aired at the end of March and viewers were seriously distracted by a glaring blunder.
The instalment saw the BBC 's Pointless presenter attempt to answer questions in a bid to win money for charity.
At the start of the show, Jeremy, 64, explained the rules of the game and revealed there was no audience watching in the studio.
The episode originally aired back in 2021 when Covid restrictions were still in place.
'You've got four lifelines. You've got 50/50, two Phone a Friends, no Ask the Audience because there isn't one and then Ask the Host which is when, if you're in real trouble, ask me,' he said. 'Is that all clear?'
However, as the quiz began clapping sounds played over the scene and some viewers took to social media to share their confusion.
One posted on X: 'Is there a clapping machine off camera or is the clapping added when the show is edited later?'
Another said: 'I guess the clapping must be put on afterwards which is pretty lousy. Not heard canned laughter since Scooby-Doo!'
While someone else chimed in: 'Who's doing all the clapping???'
A fourth commented: 'Watching Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire right now. Jeremy Clarkson announced that there are 2 'phone a friend' lives and no 'ask the audience' because there is no audience. So who on earth is applauding every time Alexander Armstrong gets a correct answer?'
Someone else added: 'Another repeat from Covid times with no audience.'
One viewer posted: 'So I don't watch tv but here I am watching who wants to be a millionaire, no audience but plenty of clapping lol.'

Love Island star offends viewers within seconds as she makes shock comment about 9-5 jobs

LOVE Island is back for the summer on ITV2 and ITVX and one of its brand new contestants has already managed to annoy viewers. Shakira Khan, 22, entered the villa first alongside Meg Moore, 25, and the two ladies wasted no time getting to know each other. 5 5 Trying to learn what they both did for a living, Shakira set about telling Megan that she was 'too glamorous for a 9-5' and must do something more exciting for a job. Meg quickly set her straight revealing she was in fact a payroll specialist, with Shakira squealing that she was a "corporate girlie". Why the comment might have sounded innocent to some, viewers at home were not impressed. One user wrote: "not too glamorous for a 9-5, oh dear". Another person asked: "what does 'too glamorous to do a 9-5 even mean?". Someone else agreed, also wondering: "Too gorgeous to do a 9-5??? What does that mean?" In a shock move, one singleton has already been booted out of the villa - and viewers are convinced they know who it is due to a big clue. The girl was told to grab her case and go after the arrival of bombshell Antonia Laites - who will be known as Toni in the show. In scenes yet to be aired, Toni - who is American - will make her dramatic entrance after all the islanders are coupled up. She is told to get to know the boys before choosing one to couple up with - leaving his girl being handed a one-way ticket back to the UK. 5 5
