New Royal Mint £2 coin released to mark railway anniversary
Train enthusiast Francis Bourgeois, known for his online rail-focused content, helped strike the first coin.
The coin features the Locomotion No.1, the first steam train along the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825.
It was initially included in the annual coin sets for 2025, but has now been released as a standalone collectible.
Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coin at The Royal Mint, said: "Coin collecting, much like Francis's dedication to trains, brings together people who share a passion for history and heritage.
"We've seen tremendous interest from collectors of all ages who appreciate how coins can commemorate significant moments like the birth of modern railways, making this standalone release a celebration not just of railway history, but of the joy of collecting itself."

Bonnie Blue hit with Ofcom complaints over 'graphic' documentary as viewers rage
The documentary was not received well and many viewers made Ofcom complaints. Bonnie Blue's Channel 4 documentary has received hundreds of Ofcom complaints after airing on Channel 4 last week. The documentary, titled 1,000 Men And Me: The Bonnie Blue Story followed the porn star behind-the-scenes of her day-to-day life including the controversial challenge which saw her sleep with 1,000 men in 12 hours. Following her whilst she completed the challenge, Channel 4 broadcasted pixelated snippets of Bonnie, real name Tia Billinger, having sex with various men, with viewers slamming the documentary "disgusting" at the time of airing, writes The Mirror. The programme received 160 Ofcom complaints in total. It comes after one Mirror writer claimed 'the new Bonnie Blue documentary may be the worst thing I've ever seen on Channel 4'. As the documentary aired on screen, viewers took to social media share their thoughts. "So Bonnie Blue gets a documentary on channel 4 where she can promote and glamorise her lifestyle for the kids watching at home but we need IDs to see posts on X because 'we need to protect the kids'," one fumed. "I feel beyond uncomfortable watching this Bonnie Blue documentary, the fact she's been given a platform is concerning. Like it or not, this affects everyone in this generation, how normal this discourse has become from a woman herself is not okay," another wrote. A third viewer said: "Watching the bonnie blue doc on C4 and honestly I feel a little sick and might turn it off," as a fourth enraged fan wrote: "This bonnie blue documentary is disgusting!" In the hour-long film, the star spoke about her next 'challenge' - 'Bonnie Blue's petting zoo' -which was a proposed sex stunt that eventually got cancelled when OnlyFans permanently banned her from its platform just days before she was due to go ahead. Bonnie had planned to be "tied down" in a glass box in a house in London, where strangers would come and do "whatever they wanted". She brags in the documentary: "I am going to be completely helpless, tied down, gagged, choked". Before airing, Channel 4 defended its decision to make a documentary about the online porn star, as they insisted they were "proud" of the programme, saying they wanted it to "stimulate debate". On Thanksgiving Eve, I had emergency MRIs done at the hospital, which revealed an abnormal mass in my spinal cord." "Fast forward to now – I have been diagnosed with #diffusemidlineglioma, an extremely rare type of #astrocytoma #cancer. Due to the biopsy surgery on my spinal cord, I have lost the use of my right leg and most of my left leg, so I now get around with a walker and a wheelchair," she further wrote. "I am very grateful to have such a supportive and loving family and boyfriend, who have been with me every second of this process. It has been a very emotional and challenging time, truly testing my mental fortitude, faith, and physical strength." Kelley later shared a video of her walking up a staircase with Logan's help. "I've been up and down these stairs now 2x in the past few days," she wrote on Instagram in March. "It's a big deal for me. (Life has also had its ups and downs lately am I right lol)," she said.
