The final season of Acapulco will see Eugenio Derbez and Enrique Arrizon back as present-day and 1980s versions of Máximo. As per the official word from AppleTV+, In Season 4 of Acapulco, present-day Máximo (Derbez) is determined to bring Las Colinas back to its past splendor ahead of its big reopening. At the same time, in 1986, young Máximo (Arrizon) is ready to go to great lengths to protect the hotel's future after a rival overtakes it in the yearly list of Acapulco's 'Best Hotels.'

Acapulco draws inspiration from the box office success How to Be A Latin Lover by 3Pas Studios and Pantelion Films. Produced for Apple by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios, Zihuatanejo Productions, and The Tannenbaum Company, the series also features Eugenio Derbez as both star and executive producer, alongside Ben Odell. Created by Austin Winsberg, Eduardo Cisneros, and Jason Shuman, the show is executive produced by Winsberg and Sam Laybourne, who also takes on the role of showrunner.
