Huge 00s pop group with four UK number ones in talks with Netflix to make documentary about their troubled history

S CLUB could be bringing it all back to you on Netflix, according to band member Jon Lee.
The singer has claimed the streaming service is in talks to make a documentary about the group's long and troubled history, while also airing their old TV shows.
3
And the programme promises to delve deep into the Don't Stop Movin' stars' darkest hours, while also providing some light relief to appease their loyal following.
Talking ahead of his appearance on E4's Celebs Go Dating on August 11, Jon explains: 'The record company own the rights to all the TV shows and our music catalogue and they're talking to Netflix, which will be great.
'We're also talking to them about doing our own documentary as well. Just for us.'
However, he stressed the importance of keeping a positive mindset.
He said: 'If you pooh-pooh everything, fans are like, 'That's a part of my childhood gone.'
"People don't like it when you moan. They think, 'I would have swapped with you in a heartbeat'.'
Formerly called S Club 7, the band bagged four No1 singles and three Top 10 albums in their Noughties heyday.
Their songs are still played today and the remaining members embarked on a comeback tour in 2023 and are planning another next year, claims Jon.
However, the group won't just be remembered for their catchy hits.
Indeed, original member Paul Cattermole died of heart failure at the age of 46 just before the group's 2023 reunion and his bandmate and ex-girlfriend, Hannah Spearritt quit shortly after because of mental health reasons.
The troubled star left the UK for a new start in Costa Rica and recently attempted a showbiz comeback on Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins but withdrew after just one day.
She's not the first band member to have an unsavoury reality show appearance after Jo O'Meara was caught up in the Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty racism scandal on 2007's Celebrity Big Brother.
Meanwhile Jon has chronicled his own battles with mental health issues and drug addiction.
I doubt any documentary will be short of content . . .
DATING DUO'S BLIND FAITH
MARRIED Matt and Emma Willis are back to coach another group of singles through Netflix's smash dating experiment Love Is Blind.
Looking stunning all suited and booted, the loved-up pair are perfectly poised to steer the 30 hopefuls, with the first four episodes of season two dropping on August 13.
The singletons take to individual 'pods' to chat to each other through a speaker system.
Some even get engaged without ever setting eyes on each other.
But the bonkers process has proven to work, with series one lovebirds Bobby and Jasmine and Nicole and Benaiah still together.
This year's men include health coach Javen, lift engineer Jordan and dating-app designer Jack.
While the women include wedding singer Aanu, cabin crew Ashleigh, and fitness instructor Megan.
And one of them, occupational therapist Yolanda, will hope for the same success as her cousin Mimi Ngulube, who won Love Island last year.
The 10 episodes of Love Is Blind UK will drop in three parts, landing on August 13, 20 and 27.
YOUNG OWEN A FILM CUB
ADOLESCENCE child star Owen Cooper has landed a new acting gig alongside Suranne Jones.
The talented teen, who played Jamie in the Netflix hit, will feature in new drama Film Club, which is co-written by The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood.
The synopsis reads: 'Two movie enthusiasts, Tom and Evie, share a weekly film club where their unspoken feelings for each other grow.
'When Tom decides to move away for work, Evie has a limited time to confess her love before potentially losing him.'
Owen's Adolescence co-star Erin Doherty has hailed his talents.
Erin played forensic psychologist Briony, whose talk with Jamie (Owen) takes up most of episode three.
She told the Travel Secrets podcast: 'To be in that room watching him kind of just bloom was so magical.
'He really is spectacular. I'm so excited for him.'
Suranne will no doubt share the same appreciation.
LARRY'S LINING UP RAIL TRIP
LARRY LAMB devastated fans when he hinted this month he planned to retire from TV.
So it's exciting to reveal the EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey actor is plotting a new project with his son George following their travelogue Britain By Bike for Channel 5.
George told Heat magazine: 'I'm not sure Dad's up for another bike ride now, but we could do Britain By Rail. Or Britain By Shopping Trolley – who knows! For us, it's not about dream destinations, it's about being together.'
Larry added: 'We've been toying with the idea of something called End Of The Line, where we'd travel to the ends of railway lines and have little adventures.
'Spending time with each other is a beautiful thing. You have to make the most of it.'
We feel the same way, Larry.

Arnold Schwarzenegger dealt shock blow as his Netflix show is CANCELLED just days after his 78th birthday

Arnold Schwarzenegger 's Netflix action-comedy Fubar has been cancelled after just two seasons. The show, in which he starred alongside Monica Barbaro and Fortune Feimster, was the actor's — who recently celebrated his 78th birthday — first foray into television. According to Deadline, the series was dropped by the streamer amid a drop in viewership following its June 12 season two premiere. The first season debuted in May 2023 and saw 11 million views in its premiere weekend, while the second installment had only 2.2 million in the same time frame. Schwarzenegger announced that he would be starring in Fubar in 2021. At the time he said: 'Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they're finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix. I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with [creator] Nick [Santora] and Monica and the whole team.' The spy drama featured Schwarzenegger as Luke, a CIA Operative who uncovers a family secret just before he plans to retire. Barbaro starred as his daughter as he returns to work to complete one final job. It also starred Milan Carter, Gabriel Luna, Travis Van Winkle, and Jay Baruchel among others. In addition to creator, Nick Santora was showrunner and executive producer, alongside Schwarzenegger. Last August the show was accused of plagiarism. A major plot point in the action series revolved around a supermarket app invented by Schwarzenegger's character's son. But entrepreneur and former rock star Aharon Jason Curtis claimed in legal letters obtained by that he came up with the idea for the app, called Aisle, in 2015. The app tells users where grocery store items are located, plots a route through the store, reminds users of items they forgot, and allows them to scan bar codes. Curtis, 55, said he only told two people: his manager at the time, who 'now works as a writer specializing in scripts for action films and streaming series,' and a friend 'who is now a writer working at Netflix in Los Angeles.' He said he was 'shocked' when he turned on the TV in September 2023 and saw his app idea featured in Fubar. 'Mr. Curtis is prepared to forego litigation and provide a full release for a payment of $1.5 million,' his lawyer's letter said. 'If we don't hear from you, we intend to promptly commence a court action to vindicate Mr. Curtis' rights.'

Love Island couple Meg and Dejon's 'game plan' is revealed as they are accused of 'showmance' for the final after blazing rows

Love Island's Megan Moore and Dejon William's 'game plan' has been revealed as they have been accused of only staying together for the final. Dejon, 26, has come under fire for his behaviour towards Meg, 25, after keeping her around but continuously flirting with the other bombshells that enter the villa. The couple appeared to go from strength to strength as they are now officially boyfriend and girlfriend and confessed that they 'love' each other. However, things went awry in recent episodes, with the pair becoming embroiled in a string of blazing rows during what was supposed to be a romantic date night. During Friday's episode, Meg addressed Dejon's confession that he would couple up with Yasmin Pettet if he wasn't coupled up with her. While Dejon looked stony-faced, Meg shared: 'Because every single challenge that has been happening recently, you know how upset I've been. 'You know how bad I felt the last couple of weeks, so for you to put someone's name on the board that actually talks down on you constantly. What the f**k?' After attempting to interrupt her on multiple occasions, he replied: 'Because I put Yas's name on the board, that doesn't mean I want recouple.' Megan then cut him off and explained she 'doesn't want to hear it anymore', to which Dejon concluded that it was 'fine' before they were reduced to sitting in silence. After watching the tense scenes, viewers flocked to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their theories that the couple are only together to make it to the final. Comments included: 'Narrrr Dejon's game plan has failed him And he's crashing out real bad !! Now he can't even hold it together . He has hated this girl from early'; 'No Megan, Dejon is annoyed because his game plan is failing & his Mrs is 'making him look bad'; 'dejon's game plan is simple. trap her, make her your girlfriend, say i love you, then use all those things against her. master manipulator final boss'; 'Dejon had a game plan entering the villa but he picked the wrong girl and now it's backfiring #loveisland #loveislanduk'; ''You're trying to make me look bad' Dejon is actually in here with a game plan. He wants the 25k and brand deals for real.' Just moments later, the couple narrowly avoided being eliminated as Megan and Conor were instead sent home, despite Dejon and Meg both voicing their concerns that it would be them. It is just latest 'game-playing' accusation Dejon has been hit with as fans of the show have claimed he and Meg 'won't last three months'. During a game of Knowing Me, Knowing You, the islanders were asked who they would couple up with if they were not with their current partners. Dejon confessed that he would couple up with Yas because he has previously explored that connection earlier in the season. The comment shocked Meg as she explained Dejon had never expressed that she would be his number two in the competition before. This unsettled Dejon and he accused Meg of trying to make him look bad in front of the cameras. Speaking at the fire pit, Dejon quipped: 'You're trying to make me look bad. And I don't understand why you are trying to make me look bad.' And this is just latest accusation Dejon has been hit with as fans have claimed he has 'shown his true colours' with the TV show comment and say he and Meg 'won't last three months' In defence, Megan replied: 'I am not trying to make you look bad' which prompted Dejon to say: 'At the time, Billykiss was also in the villa. I said to Yas you are my number one. 'And then after you, it would be if I had to, it would be Yas and Billykiss.' Megan replied 'yeah' to which Dejon remarked, 'so you do remember the conversation?' Smiling, she explained: 'yeah I do remember you say that,' but Dejon cut her off and added: 'I know but I know what I am saying. You just tried to act like I didn't tell you that. That's a big thing.' This conversation sparked outrage among viewers as they claimed he was controlling and was gaslighting her. Taking to X, one penned: 'all my disdain for meg aside the way dejon speaks to her is so off putting and uncomfortable. if he is gaslighting her and speaking to her like that infront of cameras on a national tv show what on earth will he be like behind close doors'; 'the gaslighting from dejon here is CRAZY. meg is literally calm and collected and didn't even say there was an issue, just said how she felt. for someone who didn't care what other people thought of him, dejon seems to care way too much'; 'dejon lowkey scary look at how he looks genuinely annoyed at meg for getting things wrong and belittled her after it… i don't even like her but free her fr'; 'That conversation between Meg and Dejon was a masterclass in emotional abuse. Ladies in real life make sure you never let a man speak to you like that' 'blu tells dejon that meg isn't that popular outside the villa and suddenly dejon is picking fights with her' 'Dejon knows the public hate him and now he's looking to blame Meg for that' 'DEJON DEFLECTING AND BLAMING MEG. HOW DARE YOU SAY BECAUSE THE CAMERAS ARE AROUND YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE ME LOOK BAD. EWWWWWWWW. TOXIC BEHAVIOR AGAIN.' Love Island fans have already accused Dejon of being a 'game-player' after he declared his love for Meg on Tuesday night. The episode saw the Islanders' families and friends enter the Mallorca villa to deliver their verdicts, with Meg's mother and sister having some choice words for Dejon. In awkward scenes, Meg defended Dejon as her mother Nathalie and sister Paige warned her about 'letting him away with a lot' before branding him a 'player'. After the tense meeting, Dejon was quick to take things to the next level with Meg, pulling her on to the terrace to declare his love for her. 'Like the feeling comes, even when I think about you, like this feeling in my chest, but saying it has been hard for me because it's such a big thing,' he told her. 'But honestly like, I do I love you,' he added, prompting a smiling Meg to say the all-important three words back before they shared a kiss. After a tense meeting with Meg's family, Dejon was quick to take things to the next level with her, pulling her on to the terrace to declare his love for her However, viewers were less than impressed as they took to X - formerly known as Twitter to claim that the declaration was all part of his plan to win the £50,000 prize. They branded the couple as 'fake' as they claimed it seemed like Dejon had 'studied' previous years of Love Island and had planned the timing for his love declaration. Comments included: 'Dejon has studied love island sooo well WOW I wouldn't be surprised if these two win at this point'; 'Dejon and Meg really going for the ''I love you'' in an attempt to win the £50k... fair'; 'The way Dejon has carefully curated the path he's paved with Meg… In the history of Love Island, I don't think we've ever seen anyone as shamelessly calculated and competitive as him. The funniest part? He thinks we don't see it. No good Dej'; 'Dejon and Meg the fakest of them all. In the history of love island Uk, this is the fakest I've ever seen, especially Dejon'; 'Producers of love island stopppp forcing Megan and Dejon on ussss'; 'Dejon really studied the love island game lol'; 'Dejon is never getting past the game player allegations. He's gotta know how this looks - why is he acting like an AI bot who's watched 100 episodes of love island?' 'Like the feeling comes, even when I think about you, like this feeling in my chest, but saying it has been hard for me because it's such a big thing,' he told her However, viewers were less than impressed as they took to X - formerly known as Twitter to claim that the declaration was all part of his plan to win the £50,000 prize And his fellow Islanders also seemed less than convinced as they received quite the mixed reaction upon telling the group their news. Though the other Islanders all clapped and cheered them, the truth later came out during a challenge, where they had to share their true feelings on other couples. The Islanders repeatedly brought up Dejon and Meg's love declaration as they questioned the timing, before they were voted as the 'fakest' couple. Yasmin was very vocal after voting for them in the category, recalling how Dejon had repeatedly been caught out for not being truthful about his flirty chats. She claimed: 'I think there's been a lot of times D where you've been caught out on movie nights or saying certain things and downplaying certain situations with other girls that have been in this villa. 'And I think sometimes it can seem like things have been rushed between you two.' Toni Laites also voted for them as 'fake' because they never told her about her ex Harrison Solomon having sex with Lauren Wood despite using their 'friendship' as an excuse after arguments. Netflix movie dominates global top 10 with 47 million views in just 3 days

Link is copied Comments Summer blockbuster season is in full swing at the cinema - and it's the same story on Netflix. Because just as we're all flocking to the movies to catch Superman and the Fantastic Four in full flight, so too are people embracing the streaming platform's seasonal offerings in their millions. In fact this week's top three all boast viewing figures which at any other time of year would have secured them the number one spot - but like we said, it's competitive out there at the moment. Read on for this week's global most-watched movie chart... (Picture: Getty Images) Tyler Perry's on a Netflix roll at the moment following the enormous success of his psychological thriller Straw, and now his latest comedy is following suit, which sees the return of mouthy matriarch Madea. This outing sees the comic character heading to the Bahamas, as the daughter of Madea's nephew Brian (also played by Perry) prepares to tie the knot with a rapper. Plenty of slapstick and hi-jinks ensue, along with a healthy dose of heartwarming family drama (Picture: Netflix/Everett/Shutterstock) The first of this week's new entries comes courtesy of the ongoing Trainwreck series, which aims to shine a light on events, celebrations and situations which all went drastically wrong. PI Moms takes a deep dive into the 2010 Lifestime reality show of the same name about soccer moms turned private investigators - which ended badly when the head of their agency became embroiled in scandal (Picture: Netflix) Moving down the chart is this Brazilian comedy‑drama from director Felipe Joffily that's charmed audiences across the world with its messy familial twists and warm humour. It boasts a cast that sparkles with chemistry, though critics were quick to point out that it has more than a few predictable plot points - although the fact it's added another six million viewers to its tally suggests that's not too much of an issue (Picture: Netflix) The second new entry of the week is this psychological drama from Indonesia, which is keeping viewers across the world enthralled. A Normal Woman tells the story of a socialite whose life is disrupted by a mystery illness, which in turn forces her to confront her environment and question her own identity. Expect some complex themes, including madness and isolation, to be explored in this one (Picture: Netflix/Everett/Shutterstock) It might have been described as 'the ultimate grandmother of all bad movies ever made', yet this German sci-fi thriller continues to prove popular. The movie follows couple Tim and Olivia, who find themselves trapped in their apartment block after a mysterious, impenetrable brick wall springs up outside their door. When they discover their neighbours are facing the same fate, they are forced to work together to find an escape route (Picture: Netflix/Sasha Ostrov) Netflix's South Korean psychological thriller set in a claustrophobic apartment building is continuing to keep audiences gripped. The film centres on a man who invests his life savings into an apartment - only to discover there are some unsettling secrets lurking beneath his new home. Film reviewers applauded its tense atmosphere and sharp production design, though some found the specifics of the 'mystery' a little predictable (Picture: Young-Uk Jeon/Netlix) This quiet indie flick, which combines fall foliage with emotional isolation, continues to impress, vaulting up the top 10 this week and nearly doubling its viewing figures in the process. One of those movies that does what it says on the tin, it's the true story of Donn Fendler, a 12-year-old boy left to fight for survival after a storm separates him from his family - and leaves him trapped on a treacherous mountain (Picture: Everett/Shutterstock) Given the arrival of the long-belated sequel to Happy Gilmore, it's no surprise to see the original make an appearance in the charts. And what an appearance it is, with the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy driving all the way into the top three. The funnyman plays the title character, an aspiring hockey player who joins the PGA tour in a bid to make some money and save his grandmother's house. Mayhem ensues, of course (Picture: Universal/ Kobal/Shutterstock) In any other week KPop Demon Hunters' huge viewing figures would have seen it taking the top spot very comfortably. However the animated musical fantasy's time at the top has come to an end this week, despite adding more than 26 million more views to its tally. It follows Huntrix, a world-renowned K-pop girl band who are leading double lives as demon hunters - which comes in handy when they have to face off against a rival boy band, The Saja Boys - who are secretly demons (Picture: NETFLIX) And so to the movie that's seen off all competition over the past few days, scoring a hole in one with an astonishing number of views in just three days. Nearly 30 years on from the original Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler once again picks up his golf clubs and returns to the title role, this time with our hero - now a retired, widowed alcoholic - heading back to the golf course in a bid to finance his daughter's overseas ballet school. Will there be chaos? You betcha (Picture: Netflix/Shutterstock)
