The spokesman added that the airdrops "were conducted upon President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directives to provide all forms of support to the Palestinian people, aiming to alleviate their suffering amid the strip's deteriorating humanitarian conditions due to Israel's war."
On Wednesday, four Egyptian military transport aircraft airdropped food over areas in the Gaza Strip that are difficult to access by land.
Saturday's airdrop comes as Egypt's sixth and largest humanitarian aid convoy entered Gaza on Saturday morning, including two fuel trucks carrying 107 tons of diesel to help restore operations at the hospitals and bakeries of the besieged Palestinian territory.
Earlier on Sunday, Al-Qahera News carried live coverage showing dozens of trucks, organised by the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), moving from the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing into the Karm Abu Salem crossing on their way to enter Gaza.
The fuel delivery, the first of its kind in months, is a lifeline for Gaza hospitals stuffed with critically injured patients and children suffering from acute malnutrition due to Israel's engineered famine.
The convoy also included substantial quantities of food staples such as flour, white sugar, ghee, lentils, fava beans, cooking oil, and infant formula, according to Egypt's Al-Qahera News.
On Thursday, Egypt's fifth aid convoy entered Gaza carrying over 1,200 tons of essential supplies aboard more than 100 trucks. It included approximately 840 tons of flour and 450 tons of assorted food parcels, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) said in a statement.
Last Sunday, the ERC launched the humanitarian initiative "Zad El-Ezza: From Egypt to Gaza," marking its first aid convoy after five months of a deadly Israeli blockade.
The renewed Egyptian aid flows come amid mounting international condemnation of the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which was described by international aid organizations as "a war mechanism for killing Palestinians."
Since its launch in May, Israeli forces have killed over 1,400 starving Palestinians seeking aid at designated GHF distribution points, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry and UN figures.

Egypt recovers 13 smuggled artefacts from UK and Germany - Ancient Egypt
Egypt has successfully recovered 13 ancient Egyptian artefacts which were smuggled to the United Kingdom and Germany, as part of its continued efforts to safeguard its cultural heritage. The Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA) officially received the artefacts on Saturday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The recovery of the artefacts was carried out in collaboration with British and German authorities. Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy said the return of these artefacts reflects Egypt's commitment to protecting its unique heritage. He commended the 'fruitful cooperation' between Egyptian ministries and expressed gratitude to the British and German governments for their role in facilitating the return, highlighting the importance of joint efforts to combat the illicit trade in cultural property. According to Mohamed Ismail Khaled, secretary-general of the SCA, the recovery followed a police operation in London that seized and confiscated the artefacts after confirming their illegal export by an international antiquities smuggling network. In Germany, Hamburg city authorities contacted the Egyptian embassy in Berlin, offering to return the items from the city's museum once their unlawful provenance was verified. Director of the Antiquities Repatriation Department Shaaban Abdel-Gawad said that the repatriated collection spans various periods of ancient Egyptian history. He said the items returned from London include a New Kingdom limestone funerary stela depicting a Paser, overseer of builders, in a devotional scene with the god Osiris, goddess Isis, and the four sons of Horus; a red baboon-shaped amulet symbolizing divine protection; and an 18th Dynasty green faience vessel and blue faience funerary flask. Add to this a bronze crown fragment featuring a feather, serpent, and ram's head from a large statue of Osiris dated between the 22nd and 26th Dynasties; a beaded funerary mask from the 26th Dynasty; and several faience and black stone amulets. The items returned from Germany include a skull and hand from an unidentified mummy, along with an ankh-shaped amulet — the ancient Egyptian symbol of life. All recovered artefacts have been transferred to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir for conservation and restoration before being displayed in a dedicated exhibition of recently repatriated treasures. Egyptian Red Crescent sends 10th ‘Zad Al-Ezzah' convoy with 3,000 tons of aid to Gaza
The Egyptian Red Crescent continues its food and relief support to Gaza. On Thursday, it dispatched the tenth convoy of 'Zad Al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza,' carrying food and medical aid toward the southern part of the Strip via the Kerem Shalom crossing. The tenth 'Zad Al-Ezzah' convoy was loaded with 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid, including 2,500 tons of food baskets and flour, as well as tons of personal hygiene and medical supplies, baby formula, and tens of thousands of bags of fresh bread. This effort is part of the Egyptian Red Crescent's work to address the severe food shortages within the Strip. The 'Zad Al-Ezzah… From Egypt to Gaza' convoy, launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, has so far delivered thousands of tons of varied aid. This includes food supplies, flour, baby formula, medical supplies, medicines, personal hygiene products, and two fuel trucks. The Egyptian Red Crescent has been a key national mechanism for coordinating and mobilizing aid to Gaza since the beginning of the crisis. The Rafah crossing has never been closed from the Egyptian side. The organization remains on high alert in all its logistical centers, with ongoing efforts to deliver aid that has now surpassed 36,000 trucks, carrying nearly half a million tons of humanitarian and relief supplies, thanks to the efforts of its 35,000 volunteers.
