Driver who injured two people is banned from roads

A man whose careless driving seriously injured two people days before Christmas has been banned from the roads for almost two years.
21-year-old Charlie Lloyd was driving along George Street in Hintlesham on December 23 last year when an incident took place which resulted in two people being injured.
According to court documents, Lloyd, of Lady Lane, Hadleigh, admitted two counts of causing serious injury through careless or inconsiderate driving and one charge of drink driving. The case was discussed before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on July 9.
It was found that Lloyd had 151 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 per millilitres of his blood. The legal driving limit is 80 milligrammes.
Lloyd was disqualified from driving for 22 months. He was also handed a prison sentence of 18 weeks, which was suspended for 18 months.
Lloyd was also ordered to pay a surcharge towards victims' services of £154 and court costs of £85, a total amount of £239.

He was handed a community order for 12 months, ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving.

Body found in search for man missing in River Tay

A body has been found following searches for a man who went missing in the River Tay at Perth. Emergency services had launched the search for a 27-year-old who went missing near Moncreiffe Island at about 7.45pm on Thursday. Three men had got into difficulty in the water, with two being traced and checked by paramedics. Police Scotland said on Friday a body had been found and enquiries are ongoing to establish the identity. Emergency services remain in attendance.

Police were called by a woman who said a man had been following and filming her as she was pushing her baby in a pram round Birkenhead Park. A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking following the incident.
