
'My air fryer bread with 2 ingredients turned out better than sourdough'
This recipe is as simple as it gets - no kneading, no proving, just two ingredients and your trusty air fryer
Few things compare to the comforting smell of freshly baked bread wafting through your house - though getting to that stage isn't always so simple. The thought of endlessly kneading and waiting for the dough to prove can seem more effort than it's worth.
But with this simple bread recipe, with just two ingredients, will create not only the perfect loaf, but have your house smelling delicious. Emily Scott, also known as What I Ate For Breakfast on social media, has created a recipe that promises a delicious loaf with minimal effort.
And even better, you can do it with an air fryer, the Express reports.
In a short video, Emily shared her foolproof bread recipe that requires just two ingredients - Greek yoghurt and self-raising flour. No yeast, no expensive bakeware - and best of all, no long waits for the dough to prove.
In the caption, she said: "The texture isn't quite as light and fluffy as a loaf made with yeast (more similar to soda bread), but it's soft with a delicious, crunchy crust and perfect for toasting or enjoyed warm from the oven slathered with butter."
Here's how you can do it.
Air fryer bread
Ingredients - for the dough
500g self-raising flour
475g Greek yoghurt
Pinch of salt (optional)
For the topping:
One egg
Splash of milk
Tsp sesame seeds
Method
First, measure out the flour and yoghurt into two separate bowls.
Add the salt to the bowl of flour and give it a quick mix. Next, stir in the yoghurt and mix using your hands, a spoon, or a mixer until a smooth dough forms - add a splash of water if needed cause it looks too dry.
As the dough comes together, make an egg wash by whisking an egg with a bit of milk - this gives your loaf a lovely golden finish after baking.
Next, line the air fryer basked with greaseproof paper and place your dough on top. Then brush the top with the egg wash and sprinkle over sesame seeds or which ever additional toppings you'd like. Set your air fryer to bake at 160C and cook for 40 minutes.
You'll know the bread is done when the bottom sounds hallow when tapped. If i doesn't sound hallow, then place it inside for another 15 minutes, but cover the bread with tin foil so it doesn't get too burnt.
Nicola Roy, made the recipe herself and here's what she had to say about the end results.
She said: "The crust was so crunchy as I was cutting the bread into slices, with the inside of the loaf gorgeous and chewy - like sourdough but even better. After dishing it out to my family, they agreed that it was delicious, and they were in disbelief when they found out it was only two ingredients.
It's even better toasted, especially when served with butter or your favourite spread. This may have been my first time making bread, but it certainly won't be the last, especially when recipes like this exist."

Describing his method, Jamie expressed: "It's really quick, it's really delicious, I wanna share with you a brilliant technique for making the perfect sirloin steak, tender, melt in your mouth, cut like butter.", reports the Express. He began by prepping a non-stick skillet on medium flame, then tackled the beef sirloin. Jamie proposed: "What I would suggest to do is pull this fat off, and this fat is really really important, it's going to give you the flavour. "But what we don't want is that sinew. That really tough bit that you kind of push to the side. "It's a real pain. "So what I love to do is slice [the fat] up into little chunks, and render it down. So instead of putting butter or oil in this pan, we're going to cook the steak in the steak fat. "Then get the knife and cut off the piece of sinew. Get rid of that." He then said you fry the cut up fat, add cloves of garlic, which will flavour the fat. Then season the steak with black pepper and sea salt, and pat it in. He added: "What I'm doing is one thicker steak for two people, and cook it medium rare." Before adding the steak to the pan, throw in some spring onions, and slice open two red chillis, taking care to remove the seeds first so it's not too spicy. Once that's sizzled for a while, take it all out of the pan, and put the steak in. The pan will already have natural beef juices in from the fat. Jamie added: "When pan-frying a steak, do it a minute on each side until it's cooked to your liking. "Whether it's well done, medium, medium rare, rare, whatever you like. For me medium rare is what I'm after, about three minutes on each side." When you take it out, place it on top of the spring onions and chillis you removed earlier. For those feeling really daring, you can also blend up a sauce using the rest of your chillis, spring onions and add jarred peppers, and serve the steak sliced up on top, Jamie added.

Mosley, who died aged 67 while on holiday with his wife Dr Clare Bailey Mosley on the Greek island of Symi last year, was known for popularising diets and fronting science programmes.
