Hyderabad Cricket Association president Jagan Mohan Rao forged former minister Krishna Yadav's signature to gain eligibility for board election: CID
Krishna Yadav, who had served as a labour minister in 1994, was an accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam. He was arrested in 2003 for allegedly demanding Rs 2 crore from prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi and was later acquitted.
The CID on June 11 recorded the statement of Krishna Yadav, president of Gowlipura Cricket Club, in connection with the forgery case involving the HCA. Krishna Yadav is believed to have said that he had no knowledge of the documents submitted to the Hyderabad south district registrar by the accused, seeking to change the club's name from Gowlipura Cricket Club to Sri Chakra Cricket Club (SCCC), the CID remand report said.
CID officials further said that C Rajender Yadav, general secretary of SCCC and one of the accused in the case, is Krishna Yadav's brother. 'Krishna Yadav is neither aware of the forgery nor the renaming of the club,' a senior CID official said.

Krishna Yadav also alleged that the entire process was carried out without his consent and that his signature was forged by the accused. He further alleged that the illegal name change and forged documentation were orchestrated by Rajender Yadav and G Kavitha, Rajender's wife, in collusion with Jagan Mohan, to fraudulently facilitate Jagan Mohan's entry into the HCA and contest the elections for the post of president.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory analysis confirmed the forgery. The signature attributed to Krishna Yadav on the documents submitted to the registrar did not match his verified signature samples, affirming that the signature was indeed forged.
In a related development, HCA store in-charge K Jayaraj stated that no official purchases were made or materials issued during the tenure of the accused as members of the HCA Apex Council, indicating further irregularities in procurement practices under their leadership.

Cops return 5L to 2 victims of cybercrimes
Kolkata: Bidhannagar Police recovered and returned Rs 5.1 lakh in total to victims of two cybercrime cases, in which three accused were arrested. In Lake Town, Rs 3,04,752 was returned to Nilanjan Banerjee, who lodged a complaint on Jan 4 after losing Rs 21.3 lakh to an online work-from-home scam. Banerjee was initially paid for the work before he was asked to invest. He paid Rs 21 lakh before he realised he was duped. "I emptied my father's savings. I am thankful to police for retrieving a portion of the amount. I hope to get back the rest," said Banerjee, a digital marketing professional. Police returned Rs 2,00,372 to Narayanpur resident Baby Mitra, who was in Oct last year duped into downloading an APK file and sharing banking details. Mitra was returned the entire money she lost. Techie, chef from Hyderabad lose over Rs 1 crore in investment scams
Hyderabad: In separate incidents, two people from the city lost over Rs 1 crore to cyber fraudsters in stock market and forex trading scams. In the first incident, a 35-year-old IT employee from Miyapur was duped of Rs 68.6 lakh in a stock market investment scam. In his complaint, the IT employee claimed that between July 17 and 29, he transferred Rs 68.6 lakh to individuals posing as representatives of an online stock trading platform. 'One individual introduced himself as Professor Sarvjeet Virk and provided a link to instal a trading app, ShoonaXHNI. Calling me a high-net-worth individual, he persuaded me to transfer over Rs 68 lakh to various bank accounts for purchasing an IPO. When I tried to withdraw the amount, they demanded an additional Rs 70 lakh as commission,' the victim said. When he refused to pay, his access to the account was blocked, prompting him to approach the police on Friday. A fraudster, posing as Sneha Reddy, contacted him and guided the victim to a fake trading website. Between July 23 and 28, he transferred Rs 49.9 lakh to various bank accounts. To gain his confidence, the fraudsters initially returned a little over Rs 7,000. 'The site showed my account balance as Rs 4.3 crore, and when I tried to withdraw the amount, they demanded Rs 64 lakh as platform charges,' the victim said. When he refused to pay further, the accused blocked his access to the portal. Later, on checking with friends, he realised it was a scam. Based on their complaints, separate cases were registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the IT Act at Cyberabad Cybercrime PS. Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police said they are intensifying efforts to track down cyber fraudsters. Between July 29 and Aug 4, they arrested 15 people in 11 cyber fraud cases, 12 of whom were involved in investment frauds.
