Uma Thurman's seldom-seen younger daughter is spotted in rare outing with dad Arpad Busson and Elle Macpherson
Uma Thurman 's youngest daughter made a rare appearance with family recently after staying out of the spotlight for much of her childhood.
Thurman's two older children, Maya and Levon Hawke — whom she shares with her ex-husband Ethan Hawke — are well known for having followed their famous parents into acting.
But Thurman, 55, has cultivated a far more private existence for her youngest daughter, 12-year-old Luna Thurman-Busson, whom she shares with her ex, the French hedge fund manager Arpad Busson, 62.
Luna made a surprise appearance in photos posted to Instagram over the weekend by her older half-brother Flynn Busson, who is the son of Busson and the Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson.
Luna supported her older brother Cy at a graduation ceremony while also posing with Elle, Flynn and her dad Arpad in a black-and-white photo that Flynn captioned: 'Fam Bam.'
Luna — which is short for Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson — wore a cozy sweater with a white miniskirt and casual black Adidas Sambas.
Her father's ex Elle wrapped an arm around her and flashed a winning smile while wearing a chic light-colored satiny suit and aviator-style sunglasses.
Luna's brother Flynn and her father Arpad both favored business-ready navy suits, while Cy had on his graduation gowns.
Apad pumped his fist in the air and cheered as he joined Flynn and Cy in another photo showing them hanging out with other 'Lads' after graduation.
Luna's presence in her brother's photo was rare, as she spends most of her time with her mother, who ensures that she has far less of a public profile than her older siblings.
A rare exception occurred in 2023 at the New York City premiere of Wes Anderson's critically acclaimed comedy Asteroid City, which Maya had a small role in.
Even though Luna isn't usually spotted at similar events, this time she was seen posing for photographers with her mother and sister, as well as Levon.
The event turned out to be a full family affair for the Stranger Things star, as Maya's dad Ethan also joined in on the party after the screening.
While little is known about Luna, Uma previously opened up about why she decided to give her daughter four middle names.
'[Maya] came up with the best excuse, which was that I probably wouldn't get to have any more children, so I just put every name that I liked into [Luna's],' the Kill Bill star told Jimmy Fallon during a Tonight Show appearance, via People. 'We couldn't quite agree on the name, so we call her Luna. She's lucky that way.'
Uma and her financier ex Arpad Busson began their on–off relationship back in 2007, and revealed that they were engaged in June of the following year, but they called off the engagement in 2009.
The split was short-lived, though, and Uma and Arpad reunited in 2010, with the engagement back on.
Luna arrived in 2012, but her parents still hadn't married by 2014, when they called it off their engagement for a second time and seemingly split for good.
In early 2017, Uma and Arpad became engaged in a custody battle over their youngest child, with The Pulp Fiction star ultimately receiving primary physical custody of Luna.
Prior to dating Arpad, Thurman was married twice: from 1990 to 1992 to Oscar winner Gary Oldman, and then from 1998 to 2005 to Ethan Hawke after they met on the set of their 1997 sci-fi drama Gattaca.
They welcomed Maya in 1998 and Levon in 2002, before separating in 2003.
Prior to his relationship with Uma, Arpad's best-known partner was Elle Macpherson, whom he was together with from 1996 to 2005 and shared two sons.

Twix ad banned in UK for encouraging unsafe driving
A TV ad for chocolate bar Twix has been banned for encouraging unsafe advert shows a man with flowing hair involved in a car chase and crash that results in his and an identical, caramel-coloured car sandwiched on top of each other, like a complaints issued against the advert said it encouraged dangerous driving and was who own Twix, argued that the ad had a "cinematic presentation" and was set in a "world that was absurd, fantastical and removed from reality", which Clearcast, the non-governmental organisation that approves adverts before broadcast, echoed. But the watchdog the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) ruled the ad "must not appear again" in its current form because it "condoned unsafe driving".While the ASA acknowledged that the stunt performed highlighted the fantastical nature of the advert, it took issue with the first half of the video that showed driving "that appeared likely to breach the legal requirements of the Highway Code".It said there was an "emphasis on speed" including with "fast paced beat and music" in the car chase, noting the "visible skid marks" left on the defended the advert, saying "the cars were shot driving at lawful speeds and any emulation would only reflect the legal and safe driving presented".The sweet giant, who also own M&Ms, Celebrations and Maltesers, added that Twix is known for its absurd and playful humour, which was reflected in the final scene shows a Twix bar falling through the sunroofs of the two cars, before they drive off - still attached - and with the tagline "two is more than one".For its part, Clearcast told the ASA that the style of the video made it clear it wasn't meant to be emulated nor did it suggest "safe driving was boring."In the ASA's ruling, it said it told Mars "not to condone or encourage irresponsible driving that was likely to breach the legal requirements of the Highway Code in their ads."

Love Island SPOILER: Two islanders NOT coupled up spend night together in the hideaway after just 56 hours
Love Island's summer series returned on Monday, and just 56 hours in, two islanders have reportedly headed to the raunchy Hideaway bedroom. Air hostess Helena Ford, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley, 30, spent the night together in the secret suite, which is now open 24 hours a day for those that aren't coupled up, on Monday in scenes yet to air on the show. The luxury space includes a bed and hot tub and offers the Islanders complete privacy. The pairing will come as a shock to viewers as Harry was chosen by Shakira Khan to couple up with during Tuesday night's dramatic recoupling. Filming began for the 12th series on Saturday lunchtime, meaning it was only two and half days before the pair headed for some alone time, with viewers soon to see the drama on TV. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. A source told The Sun: 'This is the fastest sleepover in the Hideaway in Love Island's twelve series history - and what a gorgeous pair to do so. 'In the past, producers had to invite Islanders to use the breakout bedroom which meant the love nest was generally not used until couples became more established. 'But producers have changed the rules of the breakout bedroom so it can be used at any time, without an invite. 'It means Helena and Harry could take advantage of the 'no invite needed' and explore their connection.' MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment. Love Island fans are set to enjoy the X-rated sex scenes happening in the famous Hideaway for the very first time in five years, according to bosses' comments. 'If sex happens, we'll show it. The Hideaway will be open 24 hours,' Mike Spencer, Love Island's Creative Director said. He added: 'We need to keep the show fresh and exciting. After 10 years, the stats speak for themselves. The show will continue to thrive.' Although the usual play of Love Island is to couple up with one other person from the opposite sex - bosses are hoping for potential throuples in the villa this year as they 'tear up the rule book' and install new furniture to create drama. Helena Ford, 29, and semi-pro footballer Harry Cooksley, 30, spent the night together in the secret suite, which is now open 24 hours a day for those that aren't coupled up, on Monday The Love Island villa was left extremely shaken during Tuesday night's show as Sophie Lee was axed from the show, and two new bombshells arrived. Following the arrival of first bombshell Toni, who surprised the singletons at the close of Monday's episode, Semi pro footballer Shea Mannings and fitness influencer Remell Mullins are the latest arrivals. Shea, who is a Scaffolder from Bristol, revealed he has a young son, and he will be taking that 'into consideration' when coupling up. He added: 'She needs to be bubbly and we need to have that initial spark. She needs to have a nice personality - like I think I have - so that we match together.' Meanwhile, Remell is a Self Improvement Content Creator who boasts a massive 18million likes and half a million followers on TikTok. Remell shared he is looking for 'a bubbly, confident, ambitious and fun girl' with 'a nice smile, nice teeth and someone that can keep me on my toes.' When asked where he might be found in the villa in the morning, he replied: 'I might be cooking a nice high protein meal, I might be doing my skincare routine, something to level up.' The bombshells will make their arrival during Wednesday's episode. Following the arrival of first bombshell Toni, Semi pro footballer Shea Mannings (left) and fitness influencer Remell Mullins (right) are the latest arrivals Tuesday's episode saw Maya Jama return to the villa to send Sophie home, after Shakira picked to couple up with Harry in a shock twist. Fans were confused at the Love Island producers decision to dump Sophie before bringing in two new male bombshells. One wrote on social media platform X: 'They shouldn't have sent Sophie home!! The producers are so cruel mahnnnn'; 'Two bombshells coming in tomorrow night, they should have just let Sophie stay. This is unfair' Love Island returned on Monday and after promising a series of twists, Maya was sure to deliver. The Islanders were coupled up earlier in the day after the girls matched themselves to dating profiles - but Maya returned later that night with big news. After a day of getting to know each other, the couples were gathered at the fire pit where they were dealt the news that American bombshell Toni Laites would be entering and stealing one of the boys. Forced to make her decision on the spot, Toni, 24, picked taxi driver Ben Holbrough - leaving construction project manager Shakira single and vulnerable. Maya revealed that Shakira would have just 24 hours to form a connection with one of the boys or risk being dumped from the island. In order to stay in the villa, Shakira would have to convince one of the boys to leave their partner the following evening. If she manages to do this whichever girl is left single will be dumped... but if she doesn't, it's Shakira who will face the chop. During the tense moment, Maya asked the boys to stand up if they felt they had a better connection with Shakira. Blu, Harry and Conor all stood up, leaving their partners worried. The power was then in Shakira's hands, and she chose to couple up with Harry, leaving Sophie single and the first islander to be dumped. At the start of the episode, the ladies - Shakira , Meg, Alima, Sophie, Megan and Helena - were first to enter the villa with talk soon turning to the boys they could potentially couple up with. However, in contrast to recent series, it wasn't the viewers that would be picking the couples, but instead the girls were tasked with choosing their boys based on their dating profiles. Explaining the huge change, Maya told the girls: 'This year things are slightly different. You've told me what your type on paper is, but does that match your ideal man in reality? Come and join me by the pool.' As the girls lined up, she continued: 'Girls, in front of you there are six love hearts and each boy has given me their dating profile which is written on each of these hearts - shall we have a look at what these boys have to offer?' The girls then checked out the descriptions of the island's boys - Ben, Dejon, Harry, Conor, Blu and Tommy. They then had to decide to who they'd like to pair up with based on key stats with the boys' name, age, job and a headline. Headlines included lines such as: ' I like to play hard and work harder! I love to play, so I work very hard...' in order to help the girls make their big decisions. After discussing the boys' profiles and attempting to figure out which lad could be right for them, Maya then forced them to make their choice. Counting to three, the stunner informed the ladies that they must run to their chosen heart, with only one girl allowed to stand next to each heart. And after the girls had chosen their man, they were finally introduced to each boy - but it wasn't all love at first sight. Blu Chegini, 26, got eyebrows raising when he immediately made it clear stunning Scot Alima Gagio wasn't his type on paper. And Megan Moore, 25, also admitted that her couple Dejon Noel Williams, 26, also didn't fit her usual man. While Helena had a rough start as she insisted she was not interested in rugby players, before awkwardly being left to couple up with hunky pro player Connor.
