Egypt, U.S. Reaffirm Coordination on Gaza, Regional Stability

Nada Mustafa Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, received a phone call on the evening of Sunday, June 1st, from Mr. Steve Witkoff, U.S. President's Special Envoy for Middle East. The call came as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and the United States regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the broader Middle East region. The two sides discussed the joint efforts undertaken by Egypt, the United States, and Qatar to reach a deal that ensures a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages and a number of detainees, and full access for humanitarian aid. During the call, Abdelatty emphasized the critical importance of ending the current war and the Israeli aggression on Gaza, as well as enabling unrestricted humanitarian access to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. The conversation also stressed the need to achieve a lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, one that meets the aspirations of the peoples of the region and reflects the vision of President Trump for achieving comprehensive peace in the Middle East. For his part, Mr. Witkoff expressed his country's deep appreciation for Egypt's pivotal role and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's leadership in the ongoing mediation efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire, facilitating the release of hostages, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian assistance. The call further touched on the progress of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran concerning the Iranian nuclear program. He noted that they represent a vital opportunity to de-escalate tensions, promote calm, and prevent the region from descending into total chaos. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
