Kim Kardashian and sister Khloe put detective hats on for unsolved mystery... 27 years after Amy Bradley vanished

Daily Mail2 days ago
Kim and Khloe Kardashian are reportedly trying to help solve the viral Amy Bradley missing persons case.
Amy was just 23 when she mysteriously vanished in the early morning hours of March 21, 1998 while aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship with her family.
The nearly 30-year-old case has garnered renewed interest following the release of the investigative three-part Netflix documentary, Amy Bradley Is Missing.
Kim called the documentary 'mind blowing' in an Instagram Story post shared last month with her 355million followers. 'We must find Amy! This is so crazy @netflix,' the SKIMS founder, 44, wrote.
The post caught the attention of Amy's distraught brother, Brad, who recently told TMZ that he tried contacting Kim via DM asking her to 'help [raise] awareness.'
And now, the outlet is reporting that Kim and her younger sister Khloe, 40, have gotten in contact with the Bradley family directly — specifically, Amy's mother, Iva — in the hopes of aiding them in their ongoing search.
Daily Mail has reached out to Kim and Khloe's representatives for comment.
Sources claimed that Kim and Khloe personally contacted Iva via phone last Thursday to discuss the details of Amy's case and where the investigation currently stands.
According to TMZ's insiders, Kim and Khloe were most intrigued by one suspicious detail in the documentary relating to a Barbados-based IP address, which has reportedly frequented the Amy Bradley Is Missing website.
They reportedly spoke to to the Bradley family matriarch for 'about an hour.'
The phone call was not filmed for the Kardashians' Hulu reality TV show as the sisters were solely focused on 'listening and brainstorming' with Iva about how they could help.
The Bradley family are hopeful that Amy may still be still alive despite her being missing for nearly three decades.
Kim involvement could prove beneficial as she's no stranger to the justice system, with the star having successfully advocated for clemency for several inmates along with studying law for the last seven years.
The billionaire mogul completed her law program earlier this year, which puts her one step closer to becoming a lawyer like her late father Robert Kardashian.
Kim and Khloe's alleged contact with the Bradley family comes shortly after Amy's brother spoke out about her mysterious disappearance 27 years ago.
Amy, a recent college graduate, had set off on a seven-day trip with her parents and younger brother Brad from the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan on Saturday, March 21, 1998.
Two days later, as they set sail for the island of Curacao, Amy and Brad partied at the ship's nightclub, after which she was seen resting on her balcony.
But when her father checked on her early the next morning, she had gone, leaving no trace apart from a polo shirt and some sandals - and she has not been seen since.
The case has made headlines once more as it's re-investigated Netflix's new Amy Bradley Is Missing documentary.
It arrived on the streaming platform on July 16 and has since opened the floodgates for new theories and speculation over what happened.
Amy's brother Brad shared what he believes happened to his sister while speaking on British TV to 'This Morning' hosts Emma Willis and Joel Dommett.
The Bradleys have always been adamant that Amy neither fell nor jumped from their balcony, because she was scared of how high it was.
Joining the ITV show on via link with his mother, Brad said from Virginia: 'Well obviously we don't know where she is.
'Since the show came out we've gotten thousands of tips, leads and people sending prayers, love and different ideas.
'We think what happened to Amy was that she was targeted.'
'She was seen, taken and removed from the ship and we believe she was trafficked into some kind of sex trade situation,' Brad continued.
'Obviously we need that one person who knows something to come forward and help us.
'Actually, I think there's more than one person who knows but we're waiting on that one call that breaks this thing open.'
Before the release of Amy Bradley Is Missing, the family hoped the program would spark more tips, jog some memories and lead to real answers.
However, her family have faced cruel trolling and backlash from Netflix viewers.
Brad previously told Daily Mail that the documentary has been particularly difficult for his mother.
'Back then, there was no cell phones, there was not a whole lot of internet going on, there was no social media,' he said. 'There was none of that.'
'The upcoming series has been really tough on Mom, mostly, emotionally,' he added.
'And Dad obviously doesn't like that part of it for all of us.'

Tarek El Moussa gets battery charge from Las Vegas scuffle dismissed - after fulfilling certain conditions

Tarek El Moussa is no longer in legal jeopardy after he was charged with misdemeanor battery following a Las Vegas scuffle - his case has now been dismissed. According to court records obtained by the Daily Mail, El Moussa, 43, was facing a misdemeanor battery charge over the incident, but he was able to participate in the court's Pre-Prosecution Diversion Program where he was ordered to complete 'impulse control counseling' and to 'stay out of trouble.' El Moussa was able to show proof that he completed the diversion program requirements, and a judge dismissed his case on Aug. 5. has reached out to a representative for El Moussa for comment but did not immediately hear back. The altercation occurred in June at The Palazzo at the Venetian hotel between Tarek and another male, whose identity has yet to be revealed, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Witnesses claimed that Tarek drove his knee into the man's head, knocking him out. The HGTV personality was cited for battery for the incident but was not arrested over it. Tarek's wife, Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa, was present at the time, but had no involvement in the physical violence. TMZ obtained a Las Vegas Metropolitan PD report that alleged the violent bust-up was captured on casino surveillance video. According to the report, the fight kicked off after Tarek's alleged victim allegedly bumped into the HGTV star's father's chair at a roulette table inside The Palazzo. The bump-in reportedly upset Tarek's father, who allegedly turned around in his seat to face the man. After Tarek's father turned his back, the man allegedly tapped him on the right shoulder and said something to him that reportedly caused Tarek, who was seated near his father, to get involved. Tarek allegedly got up from his seat and 'charged at the man, pushing him back before the two got into a 'fighting stance.'' As per the police report, Tarek's adversary allegedly went for the star's legs in an attempt to take him down. But Tarek allegedly proceeded to knee the man to the floor. The police then claimed that Tarek 'mounted the man's back and pummeled him with three blows to the head.' A source told at the time that Tarek was defending his elderly father when the squabble occurred (Las Vegas sign pictured April 2017) After the 'three blows to the head,' Tarek allegedly 'got up and walked away.' The incident was called in as an 'assault/battery' and the alleged victim told police that he wanted to press charges. The report claimed that the man suffered several injuries as a result of the casino altercation, including 'purple and red bruises under the right eye and a cut on the bridge of his nose.' The police said that the alleged victim's account of the fight with Tarek differed slightly from what they had viewed on the hotel's surveillance footage. According to cops, the man claimed he was 'aggressively approached' by Tarek at the roulette table before allegedly being 'assaulted' by him. The man insisted he was trying to defend himself. Tarek was also interviewed by police. He insisted that he only confronted the man to 'protect his Dad due to him having back problem.' However, Tarek stopped speaking with cops after his Miranda rights were read, according to TMZ. In a statement to the outlet at the time, Tarek's attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld said: 'Tarek intends to contest these allegations in a court of law where he will assert his right to self-defense and the defense of his elderly and infirmed father.'

Trump and Putin's security teams will match ‘gun for gun'

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin's security teams will be matched 'gun for gun' as part of a reciprocal agreement during Friday's summit. When the two world leaders meet at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson they will be protected by the same number of agents with the same number of weapons. Hundreds of security agents have descended on Anchorage to help protect the two presidents who having both been targets of assassination attempts. As part of strict security arrangements between the US and Russian teams, no side will open the other's doors or ride in the other vehicles, a source told Bloomberg. Everything will be matched down to the number of agents to the number of guns. If 10 US agents are positioned outside a meeting, 10 Russian agents will stand on the other side. The placement of translators in the room will also be matched, as well as the arrival of the motorcade, with the leaders' movements highly choreographed. There are usually three rings of security, the innermost, the middle and the outer. Russian security forces will control Putin's immediate movements while the Secret Service will protect the outer ring. AT Smith, the former Secret Service deputy director, said the US agency usually 'works well' with their Russian counterparts. 'Usually, as far as security goes, it's more of a team effort, they're not trying to compete with each other,' he told The Telegraph. He said security concerns for Friday's summit were less complicated because of the venue – a military base with controlled airspace and fortified gates. The meeting taking place in the US also means Secret Service agents can move weapons and equipment without restrictions. 'From the security standpoint it will be a fairly straightforward mission,' he said, adding that the two parties will have agreed on reciprocal protection. 'When I was with a protectee in Russia, wherever you might be there would be a [Russian] counterpart,' he said. 'All of the trips I've ever been involved in going to Russia, it goes very smoothly because both security details are very familiar with what the other needs and wants,' he added. After the meeting was agreed upon, the Secret Service rushed to send agents to Alaska and find housing for them in Anchorage ahead of the summit. Vehicles and other assets, such as motorcade SUVS, have been driven or flown to the state given its limited availability. Bulletproof briefcases Putin's Federal Protective Service (FSO) agents are said to be hand-picked for qualities such as their 'operational psychology' and physical stamina. They reportedly carry special bulletproof briefcases to shield Putin and 9mm SR-1 Vector pistols with armour-piercing bullets. Friday's meeting will mark the first time Putin has visited the US since 2015. In 2022, after he ordered the invasion of Ukraine, Lindsey Graham, one of Mr Trump's key allies appeared to call for his assassination, saying the only way the war would end is 'for somebody in Russia to take this guy out'. There were tight security controls in place at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Friday, with long lines of journalists waiting to be thoroughly screened. The intense checks were a sign of the scale of this meeting and the apprehension of officials for such a large security operation.

New Orleans mayor indicted on federal corruption charges

The New Orleans mayor, LaToya Cantrell, was indicted on Friday on federal corruption charges after spending roughly three years under investigation. The indictment against Cantrell came after the September 2024 indictment of local businessman Randy Farrell, who was charged with exchanging gifts with the mayor so that she would allegedly fire a municipal employee who was investigating Farrell's building inspection company. Among the alleged gifts were tickets to a January 2019 New Orleans Saints football game, which was being played with an appearance at the Super Bowl on the line, a cellphone and lunch at an upscale Ruth's Chris Steak House in the city. Cantrell had also drawn scrutiny for an alleged affair with a now retired New Orleans police officer who had served as her bodyguard. The bodyguard, Jeffrey Vappie, allegedly claimed he was at work while he was actually engaging in 'a personal and romantic relationship' with the mayor. Vappie was charged as a co-defendant in Friday's indictment against Cantrell, full details of which were not immediately available, as Guardian reporting partner WWL Louisiana reported. He had previously been charged with wire fraud and lying to FBI agents in July 2024, shortly after he retired from New Orleans' police force. The allegations called to mind the 2018 scandal that cost the Nashville mayor, Megan Barry, her job and centered on an affair with her bodyguard, Robert Forrest. Prosecutors who had obtained the 2024 charges against Vappie have alleged he researched that case online two years earlier. Both Vappie and Farrell have pleaded not guilty to the charges previously filed against them. While the Donald Trump-led US justice department obtained the indictment against Cantrell about seven months into the Republican's second presidency, the federal investigation into the mayor began while Joe Biden – her fellow Democrat – was in his second full year in the Oval Office. Cantrell's lawyer, Eddie Castaing, confirmed to the Associated Press on Friday that an indictment was returned against his client. He also said her name was read aloud by a federal magistrate judge as a defendant. Cantrell, a native of Compton, California, had been a New Orleans city council member before winning election as its mayor in November 2017. She thus became New Orleans's first female mayor and was re-elected four years later. Her second term – which saw the unexpected death of her husband in August 2023 – is due to end in January 2026. Cantrell was term-limited from seeking another stint as mayor, and several candidates have signed up to run to replace her in a primary election set for October. Cantrell on Friday became the first New Orleans mayor charged with federal crimes while still in office. The federal investigation into her began with 2022 subpoenas issued with respect to an image consultant that she employed. Only one other person who has served as New Orleans mayor has been indicted by the US government on federal corruption charges during the city's 307-year history: Ray Nagin. Nagin was New Orleans's mayor when the failure of federal levees there during Hurricane Katrina on 29 August 2005 destroyed the city and caused about 1,400 deaths. He was convicted in 2014 on charges of bribery, honest services wire fraud, money laundering, filing false tax returns and conspiracy, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
