'You're Cooked' Shakur Stevenson Agrees to Fight UK Star This Year in London
'You're Cooked' Shakur Stevenson Agrees to Fight UK Star This Year in London originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Shakur Stevenson is hot right now. Just this past Saturday, Shakur silenced the boxing world and put on yet another masterclass against formerly undefeated KO artist William Zepeda. Fans of the sweet science were calling him boring and saying he ran from opponents in the ring—but in this one, he showed off his usual generational defense while also putting together one of the most impressive offensive performances of his career. Advertisement At times, Shakur looked like vintage Floyd "Money" Mayweather—leaning on the ropes, firing off counters, and staying sharp under pressure. After the win, he was full of energy, and two days later, he hopped on The Ariel Helwani Show, which honestly had just as much fire as his co-main event this month. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - NOVEMBER 16: Shakur Stevenson stands in the ring fighting 12 rounds against Edwin De Los Santos in a fight for a vacant WBC lightweight title on November 16, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stevenson won the vacant title by unanimous decision. (Photo by)Shakur Stevenson The three division champion was a guest on Ariel's show along with Conor Benn, and who knew they would make such an entertaining duo. Shakur took his seat after Benn, and after the two shook hands, the show was immediately on road. After a little fun and some heated banter, the two fighters started talking seriously about a potential matchup at 147 pounds. Conor Benn said, 'I'm not a 160 fighter, I'm not a 154 fighter, I'm a 147 fighter. I'm currently right now about 157. I'll go in at 147, we can honestly do that next.' Stevenson didn't hesitate and replied, 'I'm down.' Advertisement Ariel Helwani jumped in and brought up how Shakur had already said he'd be fine fighting Conor in London. Shakur confirmed it again and said, 'It would be bigger.' Benn floated a possible date in November 2025, especially with the Eubank Jr. fight possibly falling through. This fight would be huge for boxing. A win here helps both guys. Shakur would be jumping two weight classes to beat a dangerous UK name with serious buzz. And if they're both really serious, we're in for a crazy build-up—we already got a preview of that on Ariel's show. Two young stars from different corners of the world? The energy would be off the charts. Princess Charlotte breaks long-standing royal tradition
Princess Charlotte has broken a long-standing royal tradition with her choice of outfit at Wimbledon. Charlotte sported a cream-coloured dress with a navy outline, and–uncharacteristically–bright pink nail polish. Although, technically, the royals are allowed to wear any shade of nail polish, neutral tones are generally preferred and are considered more practical. The unofficial royal tradition was established by the late Queen Elizabeth herself, who was said to have found bright nail polish colours too 'distracting'. The Queen reportedly only ever wore a sheer pale pink polish—the same colour that the Princess of Wales was said to have worn on her wedding day in 2011. It's believed that the younger royals may continue to incorporate brighter colours into their outfits as a way to modernize the monarchy. Man's tropical steampunk shed up for national award
A man who built his own "steampunk shed" is hoping his labour of love will win him a national award. Ash Robertson from Ipswich was in need of somewhere to work from home when he and his wife welcomed their second child. He decided to build his own shed, made of almost entirely of second hand items from Facebook Marketplace. His cabin meets tiki beach bar with steampunk vibe, blending Victorian and modern elments - has been nominated as a finalist in the Shed of the Year awards. Inspiration for the shed's exterior came when Mr Robertson found a wooden window for sale on social media. This dictated the rest of the build and Mr Robertson made use of cheap cuts of logs from a sawmill. The shed's wooden door originally had a square top, but when Mr Robertson opened the door it would hit the ceiling because he had not accounted for the thickness of the plasterboard. He explained: "I thought what am I going to do? "I went inside... [and thought] let's have a beer and watch some tele and The Hobbit was on. "I thought that's it, I'll cut the top into a curved shape like a hobbit house, so that just happened as a result of watching the film." Inside Mr Robertson has tiki elements including multi-coloured lamps, fish nets across the roof and more, mixed with Victorian styles of furniture and items. He said he was most proud of the immersive interior which he described as "tropical steampunk". "People can walk through the threshold and I say, first of all do you still feel like you're in Ipswich? "Do you feel like it's 2025? No I feel like it's 1880, something like that. Where in the world do you think you are? What's happening? Who are you? "It triggers this creative part of the mind that we all have... that perhaps some of us, certainly adults, as we get older you don't write stories like you do when you were a kid. It's such a shame." The shed has been named Redondo Trading, inspired by Redondo Beach in California in the United States where Mr Robertson and his wife went on their honeymoon and where the tiki style bar originated from. The shed is a finalist in the cabin/summerhouse category of the Shed of the Year awards and people can vote online for their favourite. Follow Suffolk news on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram and X.
