Inter are yet to make an improved offer to Atalanta for Nigerian star Lookman, sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me.

The key days in club-to-club negotiations are from Monday, July 28, to Wednesday, July 30.
There have been reports of an improved Inter offer worth €45m including add-ons, but my sources haven't confirmed this.
Likewise, there were no direct club-to-club contacts, but only informal talks between intermediaries on Saturday.

Inter are aware that Atalanta's asking price is still €50m, which means an offer of €45m plus €5m add-ons should be enough to finalise the deal.
This is why the Nerazzurri's idea is to get straight to the point in the coming days, also because Lookman has given priority to move to San Siro and hopes for a breakthrough soon.

Liverpool 2-4 AC Milan: Premier League champions handed humbling defeat in tour opener
Liverpool were dealt a lesson in the art of the counter-attack as they were beaten 4-2 by AC Milan in Hong Kong. The Reds, playing the first game of their pre-season tour of Asia, arrived at the Kai Tak Sports Park in good spirits after morale-bolstering wins over Preston and Stoke City in their first friendlies of the new campaign. However, the ramp up in opposition quality was evident, as the Premier League champions were schooled by Massimiliano Allegri and his crafty Italian side. Rafael Leao, the maverick Portuguese forward, opened the scoring in clinical fashion as he hared off down the left, driving into the box to take full advantage of the space left by makeshift right-back Luca Stephenson. He faced up Tyler Morton, filling in at the heart of the defence, before rifling into the far corner beyond Alisson to give Milan the lead inside 10 minutes. Dominik Szoboszlai showed his quality with a delightful equaliser on 26 minutes, curling a delicious effort up and over Mike Maignan to level the scores and get the Reds in level at half time. However, despite Arne Slot changing the whole side at the interval, it was Milan's continuity that kept the momentum with the Serie A outfit. They went ahead with the second period just seven minutes old, as they broke clear once more, exploiting the chasm of space left at the back by the Premier League side. Leao span clear to latch onto Noah Okafor's pass, and he picked out the supporting Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who stroked home to put Milan back in the driving seat. Their advantage extended when Okafor swept in a superb third, making stunning contact on Alexis Saelemakers' square to double the lead. Liverpool struggled to turn their dominance in possession into golden opportunities, and the closest they came in the second 45 was when Cody Gakpo skewed an effort into the side-netting after a stunning pick-out from Tyler Morton. Gakpo did get his goal as he planted a header into the far corner to halve the deficit in injury time, but the scoring was not done, as deputy goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili's loose pass to stand-in central defender Kostas Tsimikas sold the Greek short. Okafor pounced, and raced clear to tap into the unguarded net. Back to the drawing board for Slot, who may decide not to be quite so experimental next time around, when his side play Yokohama Marinos on Wednesday, before a visit from Athletic Bilbao to Anfield.

Pedulla Reveals Chelsea Bound Netherlands Star ‘Was On The Radar' Of Inter Milan
Alfredo Pedulla reveals that Xavi Simons was on the radar of Inter Milan before he moved towards a transfer to Chelsea. The SportItalia transfer market expert reported, via , that the Nerazzurri decided to go all-in on signing Ademola Lookman instead. Inter Milan are looking to make a big splash with an attacking signing this summer. The Nerazzurri have reportedly eyed up a few possible signings to bolster their forward options. In particular, they want a winger, attacking midfielder, or withdrawn forward. That would be to facilitate the move towards a 3-4-2-1 shape under Cristian Chivu. The Nerazzurri are by all accounts pushing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. However, the Nigerian is not the only player who the Nerazzurri have considered in this respect. And among the backup targets Inter considered in attack was RB Leipzig and Netherlands attacking midfielder Xavi Simons. The former PSG player now appears to be on the verge of a move to Chelsea, however. Revealed – Wages Discussed On New Five-Year Deal For Italy Star At Inter Milan
Davide Frattesi could earn €3.4 million net per season on a new five-year deal with Inter Milan. This according to today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 25-year-old will see his earnings bumped up on a new contract. For months, it had seemed all but inevitable that Davide Frattesi would leave the club this summer. And had Simone Inzaghi stayed on as coach, that would have been the case. There was a rift between he and Frattesi. However, Inzaghi decided to leave Inter in search of big money at Al-Hilal. Cristian Chivu arrived to replace him on the Inter bench. Davide Frattesi Could Earn €3.4 Net/Season On New Five-Year Deal With Inter Milan ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – MARCH 05: Davide Frattesi of FC Internazionale during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 first leg match between Feyenoord and FC Internazionale Milano at De Kuip on March 05, 2025 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. (Photo by) Now that Chivu is in charge, plans have changed completely for Davide Frattesi. This about face has a lot to do with the role that the Romanian coach sees for the 25-year-old. Frattesi never quite fit in to the midfield trio in Inzaghi's 3-5-2 system. The previous coach demanded that his midfielders be capable of just about everything on the pitch. On the other hand, Chivu is ready to shift to using attacking midfielders. He'll aim to implement a 3-4-2-1 system with two central players behind one strikers. And in that formation, Frattesi can shine more.
