Jase Richardson stays in NBA draft, won't be returning to Michigan State basketball
The remote possibility of Jase Richardson returning to Michigan State basketball is now nil.
Richardson will remain in the NBA draft pool after the NCAA's deadline to return for the 2025-26 season passed at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com. Richardson entered the draft in early April.

In his one season with the Spartans, the 19-year-old combo guard averaged 12.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per games over 25.3 minutes. Richardson hit a team-leading 41.2% of his 3-point attempts and shot 49.3% overall. That included averaging 16.1 points and 30.5 minutes in starting MSU's final 15 games of its Big Ten regular-season championship season and run to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. He shot 42% from 3-point range while grabbing 4.6 rebounds and dishing out 1.7 assists per game over that span as the Spartans finished 30-7.

STILL IN EAST LANSING: Resetting Michigan State basketball's roster, outlook heading into summer
At the NBA Scouting Combine in Chicago earlier this month, Richardson measured at just 6-feet-1/2 and weighed 178.4 pounds. Both were significantly lower than the 6-3 and 185 pounds he was listed at on MSU's roster for his freshman season.

Those diminished measurements have dropped Richardson, the son of former MSU star and NBA player Jason Richardson, in a number of mock drafts out of the lottery — he had been projected as a potential top-10 pick before the combine — and toward the back half of the first round for the June 25 draft. ESPN, Yahoo! Sports and NBCSports.com dropped him to No. 16 (Orlando) in recent mock drafts, while Sports Illustrated and On3.com have him going at No. 20 (Miami). USA Today's For The Win on Thursday listed Richardson at No. 26 to Brooklyn.

"Ketel Marte was in tears after a fan shouted something regarding his late mother that passed away in a car accident in 2017," wrote Barstool Baseball, sharing the video. "Manager Torey Lovullo and Geraldo Perdomo consoled him after the incident The fan was removed from the ballpark," the post says. The video shows Marte visible in tears. Marte's teammate Geraldo Perdomo urged Major League Baseball to take action against the man. 'That can't happen,' Perdomo said to AZ Central. 'Everybody knows how Ketel is. He's fun. He plays the game hard. I feel bad for him. I feel mad about it. I hope MLB can do something with that guy. I don't know who it was, but they've got to do something. ‘Chinese Jokic' Yang Hansen selected at 16th pick at NBA draft by Portland Trail Blazers
Chinese basketball star Yang Hansen turned 20 on Thursday, but the best birthday gift he could ask for arrived a day earlier: putting on the NBA draft cap after being picked in the first round. Most observers projected the Chinese center would go in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft, so the Portland Trail Blazers' decision to select him with the 16th overall pick shocked the crowd at New York's Barclays Center, and delighted Chinese fans watching back at home on a weekday morning. 'Hello, NBA! My name is Hansen Yang!' he posted on the X-like social media platform Weibo. While that name might not yet be familiar to many in the United States, the 7'2' Yang is already well known across China. He now carries the country's hopes of seeing another homegrown player make waves in the NBA. Twenty-three years ago today, Yao Ming was selected as the No.1 overall pick, the start of his legendary NBA journey with the Houston Rockets. Comparing Yang to Yao may be premature, but he has already shown capability at both ends of court with his vision, rebounding, and three-point shooting. At a press conference before the draft, Hall of Famer Yao had some advice for Yang and other young Chinese talents dreaming of the NBA. 'No matter what the outcome of tomorrow's draft is, it's important to remember one thing: the draft is just a small part of their entire career, or even their life,' he said.
