Five Chicago restaurants were just added to the Michelin Guide 2025
Later this year, the Michelin Guide Ceremony will take place and expectantly these Chicago favorites will earn Bib Gourmand or Star awards. Either way, we're making dining reservations now.
The new additions to the Michelin Guide Chicago 2025 are:
Mirra: Bucktown
Energetic and full of color, Mirra serves up Mexican and Indian fusion dishes, creating special flavors that are difficult to replicate. Jewel tones, subway tiles, exposed white brick, and large windows set the dining stage, while chefs Zubair Mohajir and Rishi Kumar operate at the helm.
Tama: Bucktown
Creating an ethereal and inventive experience, Tama, is described on its website as 'a votive (an offering or promise) for someone that requires help. A miracle.' And with sharable plates and a relaxed atmosphere, perhaps their meaningful community approach, blending Mediterranean, Asian, and South American flavors, hits the spot for eager diners searching for something newfangled. Open for lunch and dinner, chefs Avgeria Stapaki and Adalberto Olaez have created an attention-grabbing experience inside of house-shaped restaurant, flanked by thickset modern Chicago buildings.
Taqueria Chingón: West Loop
These are not your abuela's Mexican recipes: inspired by Mexico City-style street food, Taqueria Chingón rings with hungry patrons. What was once a smaller Bucktown establishment has transformed into a larger hot spot in Fulton Market. From duck carnitas to classic al pastor, chefs Marcos Ascencio and Oliver Poilevey have you covered.
Nadu: Lincoln Park
For elevated Indian cuisine with a fresh twist, Nadu, with chef Sujan Sarkar, serves up sharable plates that are as delicious as they are beautiful. Vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes satiate every type of diner, but leave your babies at home—only diners above five years of age are appropriate.
Oliver's: South Loop
Let yourself be transported to another time: the golden age of Hollywood. This 1930s Los Angeles-inspired restaurant feels as glamorous as is it does charming, with old photos, vintage artwork, and mirrors dotting the walls. Open for golden hour, come in with friends or loved ones for a boozy beverage prior to a dinner of steak, seafood or vegetarian dishes—you won't regret it.

Iris Law shows off her quirky sense of style in a knitted co-ord and baseball cap as she steps out in NYC
IrIs Law showcased her signature edgy style as she stepped out in New York City on Tuesday. The 24-year-old model — and daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost — went braless in a white knitted skirt co-ord, featuring colour-blocked pink and navy sleeves. She added a playful twist with a sideways baseball cap and paired the look with grey suede shoes. Iris finished her outfit with a chic cream handbag and stacks of beaded jewellery. The star appeared in high spirits as she was spotted heading out to meet friends in the city. Her outing comes just a week after Iris flashed her bottom and went braless as she shared a cheeky insight into her summer. The model took to Instagram last Monday to share a collection of summer snaps. Included in the post was a racy snap of Iris wearing a burnt orange silk wrap dress, which showcased her bottom. In another, Iris could be seen going braless as she posed for a mirror selfie in a red T-shirt with silver sequin shorts and chunky black sandals. She accessorised with an array of glitzy diamond jewellery and oval spectacles, as well as a floral shoulder bag. Elsewhere in the post, Iris looked effortlessly stylish as she headed out for the day wearing a navy boat-neck graphic t-shirt. Iris paired the T-shirt with a low-rise denim mini skirt, dark green crew socks and yellow and green trainers, as well as a brown leather shoulder bag. She also shared a selfie while sporting a baseball cap reading: 'Poser. You think you can pose? Name every position.' Iris recently spoke out to clarify her relationship with DJ Tommy Gold after the two sparked romance rumours during a Notting Hill outing earlier this month. The model was seen with the London-based DJ, who bears a striking resemblance to her ex Trent Alexander-Arnold. The pair were seen browsing stalls at the famous Portobello Road Market, where they paused to pick up some flowers in the seemingly romantic setting. However, Iris has now addressed the speculation and insisted that Tommy is her 'bestie', taking to Instagram on Sunday to clarify their relationship. Reposting a picture of their day out, Iris wrote: '[laughing face emoji] sorry guys but that's bestie.' Iris last sparked romance rumours in October when it was reported she was growing close to her ex Pa Salieu again after her split from England footballer Trent. She had been tapping the heart button in response to social media posts by the rapper, just a month after his release from a 33-month jail sentence for violent disorder. She also commented on his latest post, writing: 'Fiya'. The pair were first seen together in October 2021, and relationship rumours were sparked in April the following year. It is not known when they split. Brit nominee Pa was jailed for two years and nine months for taking part in a mob attack on a 23-year-old man shortly after his best friend was stabbed to death. The 27-year-old admitted violent disorder at a previous hearing, having been caught on CCTV using a tree branch to repeatedly hit the victim, who spent ten days in hospital. The BRIT Award-nominated artist, who was named the BBC's Sound of 2021, was cleared by a jury of a second count of violent disorder relating to a mass brawl in a nearby street minutes earlier, which led to the death of 21-year-old Fidel Glasgow, grandson of The Special's singer Neville Staple.

Chefs from Portugal and Japan come together for The Art of Tasting Portugal in Osaka
While dozens of countries have gathered at Expo 2025 in Osaka to showcase their innovative technologies and sustainable solutions for a better future, another exciting highlight at the mega-event is the remarkable gastronomic collaborations on show. One such project is The Art of Tasting Portugal supported by VisitPortugal, which showcases the culinary creativity of Portuguese chefs on a global stage. As part of the lead-up to the Expo, a special dinner brought together culinary visionaries from two Michelin-starred restaurants: Portuguese chef Vasco Coelho Santos of Euskalduna in Porto and Yuji Fujita, executive chef of Chi-Fu in Osaka. The chefs crafted a menu highlighting the appreciation of seasonal ingredients shared by the two countries. Chef Vasco presented refined takes on Portuguese classics such as seafood rice, beef tongue and his signature Portuguese French toast – the perfect sweet ending and one of our favourite dishes of the night. Meanwhile, chef Fujita showcased his twist of Japanese and Chinese cuisine with dishes including Ise lobster and lamb chops. The menu was complemented by a curated pairing of Portuguese wines and Japanese sake, highlighting the growing interest in Portuguese wines in Japan. Chef Vasco is a key figure in contemporary Portuguese cuisine, known for blending tradition with innovation across multiple acclaimed restaurants, including his very own Euskalduna Studio which renewed its Michelin star in 2025. In 2024, he contributed some of his signature dishes from Euskalduna Studio at Time Out Market Porto. Yuji Fujita, head of Chi-Fu since 2018, has elevated the Osaka restaurant into a leading name in fusion dining, combining Chinese culinary traditions with Western and Japanese influences. Chi-Fu was awarded a Michelin star in 2025.

Strictly Come Dancing star is forced to pull out of live show hours before taking to the stage
Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara revealed she has been forced to pull out of a live show just hours before taking to the stage on Wednesday. The professional dancer is currently starring in the UK tour of Chicago and was due to perform at Blackpool's Winter Gardens. But taking to Instagram to share a statement, Janette apologised to fans as she revealed she was 'unwell' and unable to perform. She wrote: 'It takes a lot for me to miss a show, so to anyone coming to Blackpool tonight, I am deeply sorry. 'I am unwell and must rest to recover quickly and be back on stage. 'The cast is absolutely phenomenal so the show will be as magical as it always is. 'I'm on the mend now and hoping to be back ASAP. Love you all, Jxxx.' She told the Blackpool Gazette: 'Blackpool's one of my favourite places in the UK. We go there every year with Strictly and it always lands around my birthday, so I've celebrated more birthdays there than anywhere else. 'Normally, I'm here in November, so to explore it in July is a real treat. I definitely want to take the cast to the Tower for afternoon tea and a dance. 'I've told them they have to see the ballroom with the big organ.' It comes after Janette opened up about her 'struggles' over being away from daughter Lyra and said she had 'never wanted to be home more' amid her 'manic' schedule. The It Takes Two host, who shares the two-year-old with husband and fellow show dancer Aljaž Škorjanec, 35, has been busy hosting Strictly's Live tour, starring in a production of musical Chicago and will soon embark on a string of shows with her husband. Speaking about her worries she told The Mirror: 'So it was more about Lyra. Is she going to be okay? Is she going to be at home? Is she going to be with Aljaz? What's the plan with Lyra?'. 'Although I am still doing those things, I have had to really kind of consider the schedule and while this year is manic, I've never wanted to be home more now she's in my life. I want to be home now more than ever'. Janette also said she had her 'fingers crossed' to return as host of the Strictly spin-off alongside Fleur East as the job gave her more time at home, while Aljaz rehearsed with his celeb partner. She told the publication: 'If I'm back, I'll have It Takes Two two or three days a week and then the rest of the time I can be at home with Lyra. That's like my time to be mummy!''. Last month Janette wiped away tears in an emotional Instagram post, as she prepared to bid farewell to her husband and their daughter. She joined the touring cast for the musical Chicago and was heading to Ireland for a string of shows, after her performances at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Janette then headed to Belfast for shows at the Grand Opera House. The star had previously shared that she won't see Aljaz or Lyra for those two weeks, and instead they're planning to spend time with his family in Slovenia. In a video posted on her Instagram Stories, Janette revealed she had bid farewell to her family ahead of her tour shows, and shared a message for other working parents. She said: 'Hi gang. Just said my goodbyes to Aljaž and Lyra, and I won't see them for two weeks now but sharing is good because it makes us all feel better. 'And I miss them a lot. It's the longest I'll be away from Lyra so just starting to count down to the day I see her again.' 'But in the mean time, I'm gonna stay strong and know that mommy is making her proud. And she is gonna have the best time with her cousins and her nan in Slovenia. 'Anyways, to all the parents that have to say goodbye to their kids for work or for whatever reason, it's always tough but we've got this! We've got it.' Alongside the clip, Janette shared another message for her followers, writing: 'It always makes me feel better to share. Hope this also helps other working parents out there. It's hard but we got this.'
