India's one of the most respected and renowned business leaders, Ratan Tata, passed away at the age of 86 in 2024. Apart from being a known and loved businessman, Ratan Tata also had a brief connection with Bollywood. Interestingly, Ratan Tata also produced a film which had Amitabh Bachchan in it. He invested in the film, but even a big name like Amitabh couldn't save it from flopping.
While you may feel curious about the film produced by Ratan Tata, let us make it easy for you by telling you the name. It is Bipasha Basu and John Abraham's erotic thriller Aetbaar. About The Film Produced by Ratan Tata
Aetbaar was released in 2004 and featured Bipasha Basu and John Abraham in lead roles. The movie is about how a woman wants to get rid of her husband, and for that, she traps an unemployed man as the killer of her husband.
The movie is helmed by Vikram Bhatt and also starred Supriya Pilgaonkar. The movie was inspired by the 1996 American film Fear.
Though the film was a huge flop, stories from the set often emerge. One such incident was shared by John Abraham, when he revealed that he was once denied entry to the film's muhurat shot.
In an interview with Filmfare, he recalled, 'When I arrived for my first muhurat shot, I came on a motorcycle. The film was Aetbaar, and Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan were there to clap the board for me. Hrithik and I were classmates—he's a sweetheart. But when I reached the venue, the security stopped me at the gate and asked, 'Who are you?' I told them, 'This is my film's muhurat,' but they didn't recognize me and refused to let me in.'
He added, 'Finally, after some convincing, they opened the gates, and I saw Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan waving at me, calling me in. That was my first time—it happened at Sujeet Kumar's house.'

The Map That Leads to You movie review: The romance set against European summer is too sugary for its own good

The Map That Leads to You movie review: Swedish director Lasse Hallström's latest movie, The Map That Leads to You, has enough and more of the elements required to deliver a soul-stirring romance. Hallström, who is known for directing The Cider House Rules (1999), Chocolat (2000) and others, helms the story of three American college graduates Heather (Madelyn Cline), Amy (Madison Thompson) and Connie (Sofia Wylie) who go on a European vacation with their dreams and some baggages. It is obvious from the start that the film, based on the book The Map That Leads to You by JP Monninger, will be about the transformative journey that these young women undertake even as romance adds an extra layer of flavour to the story. The film tries to be mushy and is replete with several cute moments. To an extent, the film is successful at showcasing a nostalgia-soaked narrative, which is shot in multiple charming European cities, that tugs at the heartstrings. Yet, this movie does not have the sweetness and whimsicality of Chocolat, which was also an adaptation of a book. Heather meets Jack (Apa) during a train journey when they happen to be reading the same book, Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. The Nobel laureate's first book follows a group of young American and British expatriates wandering through Europe in the mid-1920s. While Heather is reading it on her ipad, Jack is carrying a physical copy. This coincidence also establishes their different approaches to life. That's, of course, about to change. There is a scene in which they end up arguing over Jack's objection to people recording everything on their smartphones instead of enjoying the moment. Heather counters Jack's views saying that what the tourists are doing is not any different from Jack's grandfather maintaining a journal of his travels across Europe. It's just that the medium of documenting one's experience has changed. While Heather's statement sounds logical, it is not convincing. Can smartphones and social media really match the romance of a leather-bound notebook filled with handwritten notes and sketches? Don't think so. Watch The Map That Leads to You trailer The film does try to blend the old-world charm with contemporary vibes. It succeeds in doing so, partly. In spite of trying to evoke nostalgia through the entries in the journal as well as conversations about old traditions and artistic legacy of Europe, the romantic tale fails to be enchanting. As a result, it does not establish a deep connection that's mandatory for a romantic tale to be effective. However, if you dream of traveling, discovering beautiful locales, and escaping the humdrum routine, The Map That Leads to You offers a cinematic getaway. When two worlds of comedy collide—one in Hindi, one in English—you get a moment that transcends language. On a historic night at Madison Square Garden recently, Indian stand-up sensation Zakir Khan made history with a full house and a full Hindi set. Watching from the wings and cheering from the front row was none other than Hasan Minhaj, the Indian-American comedian, who proudly fanboyed over Zakir's milestone with the energy of a younger sibling watching his big brother win. Amitabh Bachchan-Katrina Kaif film was shot at Dubai hotel that turned down James Bond, on Gaddafi's private jet; flopped instantly, bankrupted Jackie Shroff

Bollywood is a fleeting business, and most of the radical ideas that find their way to a screen don't really end up making a mark on the overall picture of the industry. Boom (2003), directed by Kaizad Gustad, is one such example, and nothing could save this film from its fate, not the money put into it, not the stellar cast, consisting of names like Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Madhu Sapre, Padma Lakshmi, or debutante Katrina Kaif. Jackie's wife, Ayesha Shroff, produced the film, and in a recent interview she recalled all that they had achieved during the filming and why its ultimate failure hurt even more. Ayesha and daughter Krishna Shroff sat down to have a chat about their business ventures and life on the YouTube channel of Zero1 Hustle. Ayesha admitted that she quit acting because she felt two actors couldn't make a marriage work. She eventually turned a producer, 'I always had that passion for movies, and my husband was also producing films. Suddenly he got very busy, and he told me, 'Listen, I don't have time for this; can you look into it?' I decided to get into it, and I loved it immediately. Then I did another film, Jis Desh Mai Ganga Rehta Hai, with Govinda. Everyone told me that it would take me 50 years to complete the film because he was supposedly this moody star. I used to go to his house every day, pick him up and bring him to the set. Except for the songs, we finished the shooting in 30 days.' ALSO READ: Gulshan Grover had an awkward moment with Katrina Kaif in Boom and the reason was Amitabh Bachchan. Read more She talked about her and Jackie's investment into Sony and how exiting that deal had made them quite a comfortable amount of money. 'After we exited from partnering with Sony, we made Boom. It was a fantastic experience, and it was very much ahead of its time. Actually, I was making money before the film was released. We had such an incredible cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover, and Jackie, and we got a 17-year-old Katrina Kaif from London. Salman Rushdie used to hang out at our sets because he was seeing Padma Lakshmi at the time. We had Bo Derek, and I even got her to do the iconic scene from her film Ten, but instead of a swimsuit, she was wearing a golden saree,' shared Ayesha. Talking about the film, she added, 'We shot in the Burj Al-Arab, and at the same time, the James Bond people had contacted the hotel for the same location, because they wanted to make it into the villain's lair, but they said no. I pleaded with them, and that was Mr Bachchan's house in the film. We had Gaddafi's private jet, and we even shut down Dubai airport for half a day.' Despite all the efforts, money and cameo appearances, the film tanked at the box office, and Ayesha credits that to the film getting leaked before release. She said, 'Boom changed the look of Bollywood, but the film got pirated before release. DVDs were selling in front of every train station, and all the distributors backed out; I had no money to pay anyone. At that point in time, Jackie told me that we were going to release the film no matter what, and we signed bonds for everyone. We did go through some sh*tty times. But as a unit and as a family, we all kept each other happy and content. Whatever negative happened, or when the 'doomsday' came, we made an adventure out of it. My husband has a favourite quote, which is, 'I am a blank cheque,' and he kept on working, and we never let the kids know that we were going through any financial trauma. Even when things were really bad, all of us were part of an adventure, and we got through it.'
