PENTARAMA MERDEKA@HOHO Brings National Day Spirit Closer To The People
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- The sight of a brightly decorated double-decker bus weaving through the federal capital last night, blaring patriotic songs and flying the Jalur Gemilang, turned heads as it transformed the city streets into a moving celebration of National Day and Malaysia Day 2025.
The unique initiative, known as PENTARAMA MERDEKA@HOHO, is a collaboration between the Information Department (JAPEN) and Elang Wah Sdn Bhd, operator of the KL Hop-On Hop-Off (KL HOHO) service.
Now in its second year, the collaboration goes beyond last year's concept by offering a stronger and more impactful programme.
Bernama joined the event aboard the decorated bus, which doubled as a mobile stage featuring music, dance, cultural performances and the Jalur Gemilang. The bus made stops at Sungei Wang, River of Life and Pavilion KL.
In addition to performances, the mobile stage offered interactive activities such as patriotic quizzes, while Jalur Gemilang flags were distributed to the public at each stop.
The programme stood out for its ability to deliver patriotic messages amid the city's bustle without requiring people to gather at a specific venue, creating a fresh and inclusive experience for city dwellers and tourists.
R. Thinesh, 25, who watched the show at Sungei Wang, said he was surprised but delighted to see patriotic performances on the streets, describing the effort as creative and impactful.
'I heard music from afar and then saw a bus decorated with Malaysian flags, with people singing and dancing to Merdeka songs. It was exciting because I didn't have to go anywhere else, the performance came to me,' he said.

Court orders Caprice to archive Instagram posts on entrepreneur
Rapper Caprice is being sued by entrepreneur Asyraf Khalid over Instagram posts that allegedly accused him of abusing his family ties and influence. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The Kuala Lumpur High Court today ordered rapper Caprice to archive 31 allegedly defamatory posts about an entrepreneur from his Instagram account. Lawyer Abdul Hakeem Aiman said Justice Anand Ponnudurai made the ruling after allowing an ex parte ad interim injunction sought by Asyraf Khalid against Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, 39. 'All publications issued by the defendant (Caprice) relating to or referring to the plaintiff (Asyraf) must be archived starting today until the disposal of the inter parte injunction application, which will be heard on Sept 2,' Bernama quoted Hakeem as saying. He said Caprice has not yet filed a statement of defence. Asyraf, 33, filed the suit on Aug 4, claiming that Caprice had published 31 allegedly defamatory posts against him on his Instagram profile between July 30 and Aug 2. He said the defamatory posts involved a podcast where a personal trainer, Murad Zaidi, appeared. 'I invited Murad so that he could share his experience in running a gym and the challenges he faced,' he said. Asyraf claimed Caprice's posts subjected him to public ridicule, dragged his father, Khalid Mohamad Jiwa (better known as Datuk K), into the dispute and tarnished his family's reputation. Asyraf is seeking an injunction to stop Caprice and his associates from repeating or sharing the posts and their removal from social media within 24 hours of judgment. He is also seeking a public video apology on all of Caprice's platforms, as well as general damages, aggravated damages, costs and other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Court orders Caprice to archive defamatory posts on entrepreneur
Published on: Monday, August 18, 2025 Published on: Mon, Aug 18, 2025 By: Bernama Text Size: KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here today ordered rapper Caprice ( pic ) to archive 31 allegedly defamatory posts against entrepreneur Muhammad Asyraf Khalid that were uploaded to his Instagram. Lawyer Abdul Hakeem Aiman, who represented Muhammad Asyraf, said Judge Datuk Anand Ponnudurai made the decision after allowing an application for an ex-parte ad-interim injunction in a suit filed by the stepson of Biduanita Negara, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin against Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, 39. "All publications issued by the defendant (Caprice) relating to or referring to the plaintiff (Asyraf) must be archived starting today until the disposal of the inter-parte injunction application which will be heard on Sept 2," the lawyer told the media after the ex-parte injunction hearing proceedings which took place in chambers. Meanwhile, Abdul Hakeem said that so far the defendant has not filed a statement of defence to respond to the suit. Muhammad Asyraf, 33, filed the suit on August 4, claiming that Caprice had published 31 allegedly defamatory posts against the plaintiff on his Instagram from July 30 to August 2. The plaintiff claimed that the defamatory posts, among other things, meant that the plaintiff was a disgrace for inviting Murad Zaidi, who was his personal trainer, on an Audio Siar (Podcast), simply to give the man a chance to defend himself via social media, while ignoring the injuries suffered by the victim due to the man's actions. "I invited Murad so that he could share his experience running a gym and the challenges he faced, as well as provide an explanation for Murad's statement via Instagram which denied all the allegations against him and his family," said Muhammad Asyraf in the suit. Muhammad Asyraf said the posting also meant that the plaintiff was the son of Datuk Seri Khalid Mohammad Jiwa or Dato K who is the husband of Siti Nurhaliza and in that capacity the plaintiff had abused money, power, influence and family ties to supposedly trap the defendant. According to him, although he had decided not to broadcast the full episode of Murad Zaidi as Caprice wanted, Caprice still continued to attack him. He said Caprice's reckless and irresponsible actions had caused the plaintiff to be insulted and hated by the public in addition to dragging Muhammad Asyraf's father into the dispute and giving an untrue and shameful image. In this regard, he sought an injunction to prevent Caprice, its employees, representatives or agents from publishing, distributing, spreading or repeating defamatory postings whether oral or written against him on any social media platform and to delete the postings on any social media platform within 24 hours from the date of judgment. The plaintiff also requested the defendant to make a public apology via video and publish it on all of the defendant's social media accounts, in addition to claiming general damages, aggravated damages, costs and other relief deemed appropriate by the court. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
