Rodgers speaks after Tierney's Celtic return is made official
The left-back has penned a five-year deal at the Parkhead club after his contract expired at English Premier League outfit Arsenal.
Tierney made 170 appearances in his previous Celtic spell, winning 11 major honours.

He departed in 2019 for a then-record-breaking move to North London but now finds himself back in Glasgow's east end.
Rodgers spoke out after Tierney's return was made official on Tuesday afternoon: "We are delighted to welcome Kieran back to Celtic," he told the club's official website.
"He is such a talented, high-quality player, and he will be a massive addition to our squad.
"Kieran has always had Celtic in his blood, and he is excited to be coming back to the place he loves.
"He is someone who has given so much to Celtic already, and I know he is so motivated and hungry to help the club bring more and more success to our fans.
"We are so pleased to bring such an elite player back to the club, and I look forward to working with him again and the rest of the squad, as we face the many challenges ahead at home and in Europe."
In total, Tierney played 144 times during his six years at Arsenal. He won an FA Cup and two Community Shields with the club, and also spent a year on loan at La Liga side Real Sociedad.

Egan-Riley, who is a graduate of Manchester City's youth programme, impressed as Burnley secured promotion back to the Premier League last season but was also out of contract this summer. The Lancashire side were keen for the 22-year-old to stay but have accepted he wishes to move on. They confirmed the centre-back's departure in a statement which referred to him joining an unnamed Ligue 1 club. It has been widely claimed that is Marseille. The statement added: 'Burnley Football Club can confirm that it has been informed by the representatives of CJ Egan-Riley that the England U21 international defender has now formally rejected the club's offer of a significant long-term contract with the club. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are in the running to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to reports. Chelsea confirmed on Wednesday that they are not taking up their £25 million permanent option to sign Sancho following his season-long stint at Stamford Bridge and have paid a £5m penalty fee to send him back to United. Sancho's future is now uncertain as it's understood that Ruben Amorim has no plans to integrate the 25-year-old into his squad for United's pre-season campaign. According to The Sun, Sancho has already attracted interest from three Premier League clubs with Spurs, Villa and Newcastle all keeping tabs on the winger's situation at Old Trafford. It's claimed that Villa will aim to secure a loan deal but United are looking for a permanent sale this summer. Palace co-owner John Textor would sell shares for Europa League chance
The American, whose Eagle Football Group owns 43 per cent of Palace, has imperilled the club's chance of a first-ever European campaign owing to his involvement with Ligue 1 side Lyon, but is ready to offload his stake to his fellow co-owners in order to bring the saga to an end. UEFA does not allow clubs with the same ownership to compete in the same European competitions in a season. However it is also reported that the European governing body does not consider Textor's influence at Selhurst Park to be decisive and is leaning towards allowing the club into the Europa League regardless. The PA news agency understands no formal decision is likely on Palace's fate until the end of June. Textor has previously spoken of his frustration at how little influence his stake entitles him to, over football matters.
