Austin Butler saves Zoë Kravitz from bee during UK premiere of Caught Stealing — a déjà vu moment after viral Cannes scene

Time of India2 days ago
Austin Butler once again found himself rescuing a co-star from an unexpected bee incident. The actor, who earlier this year helped fend off a bee targeting Emma Stone at Cannes, came to the aid of Caught Stealing costar Zoë Kravitz during the film's UK Gala Screening in London on August 19.
Bee interrupts red carpet in London
While posing for photos with Kravitz and director Darren Aronofsky ahead of the screening, Butler noticed a bee hovering aggressively around his co-star. Using the same tactic he had employed at Cannes—blowing gently at the insect—Butler attempted to ward it off. After a few tense moments, the bees eventually flew away, allowing the event to continue.
Film story and roles
Caught Stealing, directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, stars Butler as Hank Thompson, a former high school baseball star turned New York bartender. His life takes a sudden turn when he agrees to look after his neighbor's cat, pulling him into a dangerous conflict with a group of gangsters. Kravitz plays Hank's girlfriend in the crime thriller, which hits theaters on August 29.
The film's official synopsis describes Hank as a once-promising athlete now working behind a bar, living a steady life with his partner, and cheering on his favorite baseball team. But when his neighbor Russ, played by Matt Smith, entrusts him with caring for a cat, Hank is unexpectedly drawn into a web of threats and violence from figures he does not understand.
Cannes incident goes viral
This was the second time Butler has been caught in an insect-related interruption on the red carpet. In May, while promoting the horror Western Eddington at the Cannes Film Festival alongside Emma Stone, Pedro Pascal, and director Ari Aster, a bee disrupted the group's arrival. Pascal initially tried to swat the insect, but after Stone pointed it out, Butler attempted to blow it away. The bee returned toward Stone, whose reaction was widely shared online as a meme.

Release dates for both films
Caught Stealing will be released in theaters on August 29. Meanwhile, Eddington, the project linked to Butler's earlier bee incident, is currently showing in theaters and is also available on video on demand.

Justin Herbert's budding romance with Madison Beer sparks distraction debate for Chargers ahead of the NFL season

Justin Herbert is reportedly dating Madison Beer, sparking considerable buzz (Getty Images) NFL quarterbacks and celebrity romances are hardly a new pairing, but the latest buzz surrounds Los Angeles Chargers star Justin Herbert and pop singer Madison Beer. The two have been spotted together recently, with Beer even attending Herbert's December win over the Broncos, fueling speculation about a blossoming relationship. Why Justin Herbert dating Madison Beer is drawing so much attention Herbert is the face of a Chargers team now under Jim Harbaugh's demanding leadership, tasked with ending a Super Bowl drought that dates back to 1994. Off the field, he's known for being low-profile, so linking up with Beer — a Grammy-nominated singer with more than 60 million followers across Instagram and TikTok — is a notable shift into the celebrity spotlight. Herbert's own social media footprint, at just over 600,000 Instagram followers, pales in comparison, underscoring the star power imbalance between the two. For Gen Z audiences especially, Beer is a household name, first discovered by Justin Bieber and now one of music's biggest young performers. For Herbert, that attention can mean a brighter spotlight, and naturally, some critics wonder if it could interfere with his football focus. Looking at NFL history shows celebrity relationships don't always derail success Skepticism around quarterbacks dating famous partners is nothing new. Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson once drew headlines, while Russell Wilson, Jay Cutler, and Aaron Rodgers were often in the gossip pages. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15 Most Beautiful Women Ever Today's NYC Undo But as history shows, elite athletes can thrive under the spotlight. 'Distractions? Hardly. Brady won seven Super Bowl rings. Kelce is a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Allen is the NFL's reigning MVP,' one analyst pointed out, reminding fans that a high-profile love life doesn't necessarily translate to poor performance. If anything, being in a stable and supportive relationship can sometimes boost an athlete's confidence and balance. For Herbert, who is entering a pivotal chapter of his career with a new coach and big expectations, having someone in his corner may actually prove grounding rather than disruptive. Michelle Yeoh shares what led to 'Wicked' being made in 2 parts

The Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh , who is awaiting the release of her upcoming film 'Wicked 2', has shed light on the decision of making two big-screen installments. 'Wicked 2' marks the origin story of the witches of Oz. It also stars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande , Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey , reports People magazine. Yeoh spoke about her voice role in the upcoming English-language version of the Chinese blockbuster 'Ne Zha 2', told People, "We shot Wicked and Wicked: For Good at the same time". The franchise's distributor and producer, Universal Pictures, she quips, "was very brave". Shouting out 'Wicked' director Jon M. Chu , producer Marc Platt and costars Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey, Yeoh recalls conversations about how to translate Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz's long-running Broadway musical (itself adapted from Gregory Maguire's 1995 revisionist prequel to L. Frank Baum's Oz) for the screen. As per People, splitting the stage show into two movies, she said, "is very much like the musical, you know? You have part one, intermission, part two". She said, "I think there was talk, 'Maybe we should just (squish) it together'". But ultimately the team decided to spread the story out. "There's so many nuances. After you saw 'Wicked One', you felt, 'I saw a complete film, but I want to know more about what's gonna happen next", she added. As for what to expect in 'Wicked: For Good' (in theaters November 21), the actress behind the mysterious Madame Morrible can only tease. Earlier, Yeoh confirmed what Schwartz said at the 2025 'Songwriters Hall of Fame' induction ceremony in June. She said, "I think you're getting some new songs. I didn't say that".
