Four-time NBA champion drops bombshell hint over plans to retire from basketball
After 13 NBA seasons and four NBA titles, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is preparing for his life after basketball.
Having played since 2012, the former Defensive Player of the Year, four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection opened up on just how much gas may be left in the tank for him.
Speaking at Sport Beach from the Cannes Lions Festival in France, Green revealed that his days on the court are numbered and he knows how much time is remaining.
'As I transition in the next two or three years from basketball… I know that's where my life leads me in the next two or three years,' the 35-year-old Green said.
Green did not go into any more specifics - such as what he might do at the end of his time in the NBA.
He has made some appearances on 'Inside the NBA' in the past and currently hosts his own podcast - possibly indicating his desire to work in media full-time after his playing days are done.

Green was speaking on the panel - centered around sports villains and athlete storytelling in the discussion hosted by Stagwell.
One of the more notorious 'villains' in the NBA, Green was unapologetic in recognizing the role he plays.
'I think in order for there to be a hero, there has to be a villain,' Green said. 'One doesn't work without the other… It's what creates storylines… If everyone's the hero, who do we hate?'
Green was adamant that he's a completely different person off the court than he is on the court, telling the crowd, 'You may not think so, but I don't always try to be hated.'
In recent years, Green has been suspended a number of times for his brazen actions on the court.
That includes 2023, when he was suspended twice for violent on-court altercations.
In November, during a brawl on the court, Green was seen putting Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.
After serving his five-game suspension, Green played six more games before hitting then-Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face. For this, he was suspended indefinitely before returning to the team after missing 12 games.

Williamson played a major part in England's Euro 2022 success but was ruled out of the entire World Cup campaign two years ago as the Lionesses made it to the final before losing to Spain. The 28-year-old ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament just three months before that tournament and is excited to be back with the group. She added: 'Personally, it's been a rocky period of time, like highest of highs and lowest of lows. 'I try and put that aside and I think it's a very different scenario now. 'I feel my age, if that makes sense, like I've definitely aged in the last couple of years for good and bad reasons. But it does feel slightly different. It's slightly different vibes, but I'm so excited to be back. 'I'm still keeping my head down and focusing on staying healthy and being in a good place. But I missed the last time and I'm very, very grateful to be here again.' Williamson enjoyed a successful season with Arsenal and was part of the team that helped the Gunners to European glory as they beat Barcelona 1-0 in the Champions League final last month. The Lionesses skipper insists she is now hungry for more success. 'I think one of the greatest things about being an athlete is that when you think you're done, you always have that extra part of yourself that you can tap into,' she said. 'You win and you think you want to just bathe in that euphoria. But there's always something else coming, and the best feeling in the world is being hungry for it, and I'm wanting to go again, winning in the summer. 'Being reminded of what that feels like (the Champions League win), I can't wait for the next challenge.'

Footy great Andrew Johns has revealed that he was planning to host a podcast with good friend Shane Warne before the spin king's tragic death in 2022. Appearing on the Hello Sport podcast, the NRL Immortal revealed that he first met Warne in 2019 before revealing news of the planned collaboration. 'Before Warnie (died) - can't believe he's not with us - we were going to do a podcast together,' Johns said. 'I flew down twice (to Warne's home) and we did like a rehearsal.' Johns went on to explain that he believed the stories of Warne's wild lifestyle were overblown. 'Mate what a champion,' he said. 'He was such a good guy. That surprised me, I thought he'd be like a mad party animal. He hardly drank. 'He was so cool, he was so down to earth, such a legend. 'When I got there I was so nervous facing the king. He actually hit me in the nuts with the ball and I got a photo with the protector and went, "when you're out with Warnie you've always got to wear protection".' Johns said he was floored by the news of Warne's tragic death. 'It's one of those Princess Diana's or September 11's, one of those moments where you knew where you were when you heard,' Johns said. 'He's just one of those characters you think they're going to live forever.'
