#NSTviral: Elderly woman in 'kain batik' wows crowd with perfect bowling strike

KUALA LUMPUR: What began as an ordinary day at a local bowling alley turned into a memorable one, thanks to an elderly woman dressed in a traditional kain batik who impressed everyone with her bowling skills. The scene was captured by TikTok user @jahlelawati, who happened to be at the alley and recorded the remarkable moment. The elderly woman calmly stepped up to take her turn, drawing attention from those nearby. Despite her modest attire and the casual setting, she carried herself with quiet confidence and poise. With a smooth, effortless swing, she rolled the ball straight down the centre of the lane, sending it crashing into the pins and scoring a perfect strike. "This grandma is amazing… always strikes! She must have represented the state when she was younger. Wearing kain batik is no obstacle… Well done," read the video caption. The clip quickly went viral, sparking an outpouring of admiration in the comments section. User @rozitakhodi wrote: "Wearing kain batik but still showing mad skills… Don't underestimate the older generation." Another user, @onelifeonerunmakeitcount, added a touch of humour: "Dangerous paati (grandma in Tamil), this skill must have come from throwing slippers, brooms, and who knows what else." The playful banter continued, with @ joking: "This is the original coach of Shalin Zulkifli," referring to Malaysia's tenpin bowling queen and former world champion. Meanwhile, @devadarshan_22 said: "Patti rocked it, and the people in the next lane were shocked."
