Sabri, 64, said he made the decision after considering the changing trends of fans, but stressed that this does not mean that he wants to get rid of his 'comedy DNA'.

'For me, comedy roles are not something you can continue forever.
'Comedy is seasonal and, at a certain point, it may no longer be appropriate for people to watch.
'If you play a serious role, it might be 'evergreen'. Comedy is for the young; when you're older, it feels awkward.
'Times have changed. I believe comedy should evolve.
'Those who play comedic roles should transition to other roles,' Sabri said at a press conference and premiere of his new film Denu.
