League One club monitor Northern Ireland striker: ‘We've done very well with young players'
Now, Blackpool want to recruit the striker – who has 25 League One goals - on a permanent basis.
The Seasiders are also keen to recruit Sheffield Wednesday forward Michael Smith.
Blackpool boss Steve Bruce said: 'Both are very good players, and are the sort of calibre that we are looking at.
'It'd be unfair for me to start mentioning names of individuals, but that's the sort of level of player we are looking at to help us for what is going to be a really tough campaign ahead.
'We'd all love someone 20 or 21, everyone enjoys a young one. We've done very well with the young players we have brought forward.
'Let's see what becomes available, we're just getting ready to go to work, and let's see.'
The Belfast native has earned nine senior caps for Northern Ireland, making his debut against Lithuania in 2021.

Man Utd forced to immediately change pre-season plans after arriving for US tour
Manchester United have flown out to Chicago for their pre-season tour of the United States, where Ruben Amorim and his coaching staff will try to whip the squad into shape Manchester United are braced for hot weather at the start of their pre-season tour of the United States. United have flown over the Atlantic to take part in the Premier League Summer Series and will have to adapt to scorching temperatures and sapping humidity. Ruben Amorim and his players trained for the first time with new signing Bryan Mbeumo at Carrington on Tuesday before jetting off America. They will face West Ham in New Jersey on Sunday before games against Bournemouth in Chicago and Everton in Atlanta. Fans will get a first look at United's new-look attack featuring Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha before they play Fiorentina at Old Trafford in their final pre-season game on August 9. Amorim will then have eight days to make final tweaks before they start their Premier League campaign against Arsenal on August 17. There is a lot of work to do – both on the training pitch and in the transfer market – but United have been forced to make changes to their plans in the US due to the weather. The Club World Cup showed just how hot it can be in North America, with matches played in dangerous conditions, and those high temperatures have not subsided. The Daily Mail says that United have taken note of the temperatures in Chicago next week, where they will play Bournemouth at Soldier Field and where they are based for training. The mercury could pass 30 degrees in the Windy City, but the humidity will make it feel much hotter and create stifling conditions for the players. United have factored this into the players' training routines and nutrition plans, with water breaks a must. United's coaching staff have certainly been warned by the much-talked about conditions at the Club World Cup. "Honestly, the heat is incredible. The other day I had to lie down on the ground because I was really dizzy,' Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez said. "Playing in this temperature is very dangerous, it's very dangerous. Moreover, for the spectacle, for the people who come to enjoy the stadium, for the people who watch it at home. The game, the speed of the game is not the same, everything becomes very slow." Enzo Maresca said it was nearly 'impossible' to train in Philadelphia last month, with temperatures at 37 degrees, but with 45 per cent humidity, which makes it feel like 45 degrees. "This morning's session has been very, very, very short, otherwise you don't save energy for the game,' he said. "It's been just about tomorrow's game, planning for tomorrow, and that's it. No more than that. As you can see, it's not easy in these conditions with these temperatures. We are going to try to do our best." New Gallagher Premiership season to kick-off with Thursday night match... while Villa Park will also be a new venue for the 2025/26 campaign
The 2025/26 Gallagher Premiership season will begin with a Thursday night fixture while the league will also host a match at the home of Aston Villa. On the back of a record-breaking campaign in terms of attendances and television viewership, English rugby's top division is hoping to go to new heights once again. Round one will kick-off with Sale hosting Gloucester on Thursday, September 25 – the first time the Premiership, now officially known as Gallagher PREM, will host a match outside its traditional weekend slot. Thursday night matches are not set to become common. But there is one to start the new season. There are no Saturday matches in round one to avoid a clash with the final of the Women's World Cup which is being hosted by England. In a bid to attract bigger crowds, PREM matches have regularly taken place at larger stadiums including numerous football grounds in recent years. But Aston Villa's Villa Park will be a new venue for English club rugby this season, with Gloucester facing Leicester Tigers at the iconic Premier League ground on Saturday, March 28. Saracens will again play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while Bristol will return to Cardiff's Principality Stadium after debuting there last term. After beating Leicester in last season's final and sealing an historic treble, Bath will be favourites to seal the league title for a second straight season. Simon Massie-Taylor, chief executive of PREM Rugby, said: 'We are incredibly excited for the return of the Gallagher PREM and fans have plenty to look forward to with a number of appetising new additions to the fixture list for 2025/26. 'Kicking off the campaign with a Thursday night opener brings a fresh twist to our traditional curtain-raiser. Marquee fixtures remain a key pillar of our strategy to broaden rugby's reach. 'We're thrilled to see Villa Park host The Slater Cup for the first time and to witness the continued growth of Bristol Bears' Big Day Out in its second year. Last season was a landmark one. 'Viewership on TNT Sports rose by 28 per cent, attendances continued their upward trend and the league has never been more competitive as we saw a sixth different champion in six years, with Bath edging Leicester. 'Now with the official launch of the new look Gallagher PREM, the 2025/26 season marks the beginning of a groundbreaking and transformative new era for the sport.'

Gyokeres' goals must fire Gunners to silverware or Arteta will feel the heat
Mikel Arteta will be out of excuses if Arsenal fail to win significant silverware this season with the imminent arrival of Viktor Gyokeres from Portuguese side Sporting. The Gunners have been desperately crying out for a prolific forward to finish off their exciting attacking play as they chase their first Premier League title in more than two decades and it is imperative the Sweden international cuts it in the English top flight. A fee has been agreed to take the marksman to the Emirates and the deal is expected to be officially announced by the end of the week, pending a medical. Gyokeres looks a phenomenal player and was the top scorer in Europe last season with 39 goals in the Portuguese Liga, which is more than Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak, Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Lautaro Martinez, Kylian Mbappe and any other hot shot you care to mention netted in their domestic divisions. He also scored six times in the Champions League, celebrating a hat-trick in a 4-1 home win against Manchester City while also bagging goals against Lille, Sturm Graz and RB Leipzig and has yet to hit his prime as he has only just turned 27. The flip side of the coin is that the top-flight in Portugal isn't the strongest of competitions and Gyokeres failed to deliver at Brighton before being sold to Coventry where he excelled for the Sky Blues with goals galore, albeit in the Championship. There is also the concern that Gunners boss Arteta has misfired in previous deals for forwards who should net around 20 league goals a term with the £45m move for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus and the £65m spent to bring in Kai Havertz from Chelsea failing to deliver the goods – and that's not factoring in Raheem Sterling's disastrous loan spell from the Blues. Arteta has harped on about believing in his process since taking charge of the Emirates hotseat from Arsène Wenger in December 2019 but the FA Cup success against Chelsea the following May is the only trophy he has won unless you count the 2020 and 2023 Community Shields as major reasons to celebrate. As well as Gyokeres, Arsenal have splashed out on wideman Noni Madueke, midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard and back-up goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer and could also add another striker if they can shift a few squad players, making them strong contenders to win their first Premier League crown in 21 years at 5/2 with Coral, Ladbrokes and Betway. But tellingly, Bet Victor have opened a book on who will be the Gunners' next manager, with Simone Inzaghe the favourite at 4/1 and Diego Simone 10/1 as it increasingly looks like it's win or bust for Mikel. Scottie Scheffler's first public appearance since winning his first Claret Jug by winning the Open at Royal Portrush was at the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2, starring Adam Sandler, in New York. The original is nowhere near as good as Caddyschack in our book, but in any case Scheff will be able to reflect at leisure on the merits of the two comedies as he misses the 3M Open on the outskirts of Minnesota. More Trending Tony Finau joined the world No.1 on the red carpet for the long-awaited film and is 30/1 to top the leaderboard on Sunday while Scottish Open winner Chris Gotterup, who stood tall when finishing a solo third near the Giant's Causeway, is 20/1 with the same firms. World youth champion Gian van Veen landed our bet to beat Danny Noppert by more than 2.5 legs at the Winter Gardens and he can beat James Wade at 3/4 with Ladbrokes and Coral in round three while Stephen Bunting is 10/11 with William Hill and bet365 to power past Jonny Clayton after his 12-10 success against Gary Anderson.
