Saie has recently launched its brand new Slip Tint Undetectable Baked Setting Powder to rival Laura Mercier's iconic Translucent Setting Powder.
I have been using Laura Mercier's Translucent Setting Powder for years to soak up any excess oil around my T-zone, but it may have met its match with Saie's new drop.
What I love about Saie's Slip Tint is it is a multi-purpose make-up cosmetic as it functions as a setting powder, highlighter and bronzer – depending on the shade – as it adds an extra glow to my complexion while minimising any shine.
This clean formula has been crafted using Phytosqualane, Silica, Hyaluronic Acid andlipids extracted from Jojoba Esters plant to create a skincare and make-up hybrid. This setting powder reduces excess oil, while also hydrating the skin. It offers a glowy finish, despite its function to reduce oiliness and set your make-up in place. Available in five shades, including very light to light, light to medium, medium to tan, tan to deep and deep to rich. BUY NOW FOR £26
Firstly the Saie Slip Tint is a pressed powder rather than loose powder, which I personally prefer to prevent wasting any product.
The Saie Setting Powder is as lightweight on the skin as it promises to be, yet it delivers a natural glowy finish, sets your make-up in place without a single trace of setting powder or a cakey finish.
This talc-free setting powder has been formulated with clean ingredients, including Phytosqualane and Silica, which work to smooth and blur any fine lines or enlarged pores. It also absorbs excess oil for a flawless finish.
The formula also contains hydrating hyaluronic acid, as well as Jojoba Esters, which contains lipids that smooth and hydrate the skin, while providing a film to hold your make-up look in place.
The powder promises to hold your make-up for eight hours, which I can attest to. In fact, I have worn it from day to night in the height of summer without my make-up budging.
I always seek out non-comedogenic formulas to prevent any breakouts, which is another big tick this Saie creation delivers on.
This setting powder is available in five shades, including very light to light, light to medium, medium to tan, tan to deep and deep to rich, so you can perfectly colour match the product to your skin tone. This is rare when it comes to setting powders and what sets it out from the crowd as it doesn't dull or lighten your complexion like others.
While Saie's Slip Tint reduces any oily areas around my T-zone, it also lifts, brightens and adds a glowy finish to my complexion too, though it is not pearlescent or shimmery. While I opt for the light to medium shade on oily areas, I have also experimented using other shades as a bronzer on my cheeks, which was equally as effective in adding a pop of colour and definition to my cheeks without leaving me too shiny or one dimensional.
This setting powder has been dermatologist tested, so it is safe to use on sensitive as well as blemish prone skin.
Whether you sweep all over the face, or on select areas, is entirely up to you.
Already Saie's Slip Tint has garnered an impressive 4.9 out of five stars from shoppers.
Gloria's review read: 'I've been using this pressed powder and I'm seriously loving it. It gives me a natural finish without looking cakey. My skin still looks glowy like a soft, healthy glow, but not glittery or shimmery at all. It just looks like my skin, but better. I use it to set my make-up and it blends so nicely.' More Trending
While Angie added: 'I enjoy this powder, it is light on my skin, doesn't not look powdery and it sets my make-up beautifully! I like how the shade is flexible since I'll be able to wear it once the season changes. There is no scent to it but there's some radiance to it, so this won't give you a matte look, which I appreciate since I have dry skin! it does not sit in my fine lines either!'
A separate shopper, named Dahlia, echoed the same sentiment and shared: 'I am a huge powder girly and I've been looking for one that sets my makeup but doesn't look dry, especially under my eyes. I use it all over my face and under my eyes and it sets my makeup without taking away all the glow I want to keep. It looks really good under my eyes too and they finally don't appear crusty. The formula feels buttery almost! I love the compact and this will last me a long time since a little goes a long way.'

Iconic cafe serving the 'best full English breakfast' in London has been saved

London's most famous greasy spoon which has starred in film and TV has reopened to hungry visitors. The Regency Cafe in Westminster claimed to sell the 'best English breakfast in London' after opening in 1946. Fans of the cheap fry ups and old school service feared the caff would be gone forever after it closed in December 2024 when its owners put the business up for sale. But after just two days of viewings, the Regency Cafe was snapped up by new owners Fevzi and Zafer Gungor. Christie & Co confirmed to Metro that the sale was completed on Tuesday, with the kitchen serving customers again the same day. The new bosses, who own dozens of eateries in the capital, want to add a new flavour to the famous venue, by introducing a line of merchandise and expanding overseas. Fevzi Gungor said: 'I'm honoured to take over such a historic and much-loved institution. As someone born in Turkey and raised in White City, West London, my journey started humbly – delivering newspapers at 13 before school – and I've never looked back. 'My aim isn't to change what people already love about Regency Café, but to enhance it – extending opening hours, refreshing equipment, strengthening our social media presence, and introducing merchandise that captures the spirit of this iconic spot. 'We're also exploring partnerships with major British brands for co-branded sauces, beans, and more. 'We may look at expanding the kitchen to cater for Halal dining, reflecting the diverse communities and tourists we serve, including many from the Arab Peninsula. 'In time, I'd love to see the Regency name in key global cities – Amsterdam, Berlin, Istanbul, Dubai – but our immediate focus is on Regency Street.' Regency Cafe has played a starring role in a string of TV shows and films set in London. More Trending It has featured in the crime thriller Layer Cake (2004), which starred Daniel Craig before he was cast as James Bond. The famous fry ups also made an appearance in Oscar nominated films Pride (2014), which followed the efforts of London LGBTQ+'s community to support striking miners in the 1980s, and Elton John biopic Rocketman (2019), The business was sold to the pair at an undisclosed price, but it was originally listed for £170,000 through Christie & Co. Cain consumed with grief in Emmerdale as he devastates Moira with cruel move

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) hurt Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in tonight's episode of Emmerdale, following a major development about Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) killer. Yesterday, DS Walsh told Cain and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) that Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) had confessed to killing Nate. Understandably, the news knocked them both. Not only did they have to try and deal with the fact Nate's murderer had been found, but they also had to try and come to terms with the fact a complete stranger was responsible for his death. We know of course, that none of this is true. Last Friday, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) found Owen unconscious in his house. With knowledge that Cain and Tracy were desperate for closure, John left Owen to die and then wrote a note on his laptop, saying that he killed Nate. He believed that it would help Cain and Tracy with moving forward – but it just made things even worse. At Butlers Farm, Moira found Cain at the table. It was early morning, but Cain had been sat there for ages after struggling to sleep. Playing on his mind was the fact he will now never get a chance to confront Owen about Nate's murder. Moira attempted to make Cain feel better by reminding him that she knows exactly what it's like to lose a child. Unfortunately, a grieving Cain told Moira that the aftermath of Holly Barton's death isn't the same as Nate's, because she 'did that to herself'. Ouch. Cain spent the day consumed with negative emotion over the lack of closure regarding Nate. As John's guilt increased, Cain attempted to learn more about the sort of person Owen was from Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). Liam had been visiting Owen as his doctor, but refused to tell Cain anything that would breach patient confidentiality. This left Cain incredibly annoyed and it led to him grabbing his best friend. Sent away from the pub, Cain took himself off for a walk to clear his head. He ended up back at Butlers Farm where he found Moira feeding some cows. More Trending Cain apologised to Moira and they hugged, with Moira being understanding of the situation Cain is currently in. As he left, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) arrived. Topic of conversation turned to Owen and when Moira mentioned him planting Nate's phone in Frankie's playhouse, Robert was astounded. He found it incredibly odd that Owen would risk getting caught by heading to the place Nate lived – and will soon get very close indeed to the truth about Nate. 'I lead a wondrous new TV period drama – it's a blessing'

'Seeing your face on billboards, in a trailer… it's crazy. I'm just grateful.' Three years ago, just a year after graduating from drama school, Ernest Kingsley Jr was cast as the lead in Washington Black, a period drama brimming with heart and adventure. The high-octane TV series, which also stars This Is Us and Paradise actor Sterling K Brown, has finally launched on Disney Plus today, and the titular star admits to Metro that the whole experience up to this point has been 'surreal'. 'When they told me I got the job, it was in a meeting like this, all over Zoom,' Ernest says on our video call, explaining that a global search was conducted to find the actor who would play the protagonist, George Washington 'Wash' Black. Sterling, who's also an executive producer on the show, showered the up-and-coming actor with 'lovely words and kind-hearted support' when the decision was announced. 'I just felt really overwhelmed. Surreal is the best word I can use,' Ernest adds. Having previously starred in Netflix's The Sandman and the recent TV adaptation of War of the Worlds, Washington Black – based on the book of the same name by Esi Edugyan – marks his first time in a lead role. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Set in the 19th century, the drama flits between scenes from Wash's childhood, where he's played by Eddie Karanja, and the character's present-day adult life. Growing up on a sugar plantation in Barbados, it's apparent from a young age that Wash is a child prodigy with a keen scientific mind. His genius is recognised by a man called Christopher 'Titch' Wilde (Tom Ellis), who takes Wash on a globe-trotting adventure when a distressing incident forces them to flee. As an adult in Nova Scotia, a man called Medwin Harris (Sterling) acts as a mentor towards Wash, and that close relationship also carried across between the actors off-screen. While working with Sterling was an 'absolute gift', Ernest reveals that his first day filming with the acting legend was particularly daunting, given they had to have a bit of a physical tussle. 'We had a scene where he had to kind of rough me up a bit, and he did, much to my shock. I was just there like, 'Oh gosh, okay, this is go time,'' he remembers light-heartedly. 'He just has an essence that lifts you up, his spirit lifts your spirit. To have someone like that as a workmate, but also as a mentor, a brother, a friend. It was a complete gift and a blessing.' During a joint appearance on BBC's The One Show, Sterling went so far as to say that he believes Ernest is on the verge of becoming a 'household name'. One can only imagine how it must have felt to receive a compliment as extraordinary as that. '[Sterling] strikes me as someone who's a man of his word. He doesn't like to say things wishy-washy. He says things that he believes in and he acts upon it,' Ernest remarks. 'So to hear him say these words, especially, 'household name', it's just crazy. I can only hug him and hug him again, and then hug him again.' As the actor describes it, Washington Black is a 'wondrous' adventure, an odyssey of the fictional character's life that has even inspired him to do more solo travelling in the future. However, he wasn't the only actor to experience Wash's inspiring journey first-hand, as the brilliantly talented Eddie was cast as the younger version of the lead. 'We got to spend so much time with each other. Me and him, we spent so much time playing chess together. He's amazing at chess,' Ernest remembers fondly. 'We had multiple moments to meet up with the directors, to hash out what kind of things we wanted to keep the same, little mannerisms. I think what came out of it was the essence. 'How do I keep the essence of innocence and vulnerability and joy that Eddie brought to the character so beautifully? I found some moments to watch him on set as well when I wasn't working, to learn from him and see what I could keep.' So, who beat who more at chess? 'I'm gonna say me. Somebody could say otherwise, but I'm the only one here right now,' Ernest replies mischievously. We'll have to take his word for it. Now the lead of his own TV show, after booking and filming his role as Kai'ckul in The Sandman when he was still in drama school, the future is looking bright for Ernest. More Trending He's written and produced a short film titled A Love Story, which follows 'an insecure teenager who thinks he's falling in love with his best friend, but his feelings snowball into something more dark and destructive'. Nonetheless, acting is still very much at the forefront of his mind as he progresses in his career. 'I truly just want to be a part of projects and roles that I enjoy, that I'm passionate about. Washington Black was a dream role. In terms of the hero's journey and getting to travel and just go through an adventure, that aspect of any world was a dream for me,' he shares.
