Saie launches new Slip Tint Setting Powder - and here's why it's a summer staple
Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more Saie has recently launched its brand new Slip Tint Undetectable Baked Setting Powder to rival Laura Mercier's iconic Translucent Setting Powder. I have been using Laura Mercier's Translucent Setting Powder for years to soak up any excess oil around my T-zone, but it may have met its match with Saie's new drop. What I love about Saie's Slip Tint is it is a multi-purpose make-up cosmetic as it functions as a setting powder, highlighter and bronzer – depending on the shade – as it adds an extra glow to my complexion while minimising any shine. This clean formula has been crafted using Phytosqualane, Silica, Hyaluronic Acid andlipids extracted from Jojoba Esters plant to create a skincare and make-up hybrid. This setting powder reduces excess oil, while also hydrating the skin. It offers a glowy finish, despite its function to reduce oiliness and set your make-up in place. Available in five shades, including very light to light, light to medium, medium to tan, tan to deep and deep to rich. BUY NOW FOR £26 Firstly the Saie Slip Tint is a pressed powder rather than loose powder, which I personally prefer to prevent wasting any product. The Saie Setting Powder is as lightweight on the skin as it promises to be, yet it delivers a natural glowy finish, sets your make-up in place without a single trace of setting powder or a cakey finish. This talc-free setting powder has been formulated with clean ingredients, including Phytosqualane and Silica, which work to smooth and blur any fine lines or enlarged pores. It also absorbs excess oil for a flawless finish. The formula also contains hydrating hyaluronic acid, as well as Jojoba Esters, which contains lipids that smooth and hydrate the skin, while providing a film to hold your make-up look in place. The powder promises to hold your make-up for eight hours, which I can attest to. In fact, I have worn it from day to night in the height of summer without my make-up budging. I always seek out non-comedogenic formulas to prevent any breakouts, which is another big tick this Saie creation delivers on. This setting powder is available in five shades, including very light to light, light to medium, medium to tan, tan to deep and deep to rich, so you can perfectly colour match the product to your skin tone. This is rare when it comes to setting powders and what sets it out from the crowd as it doesn't dull or lighten your complexion like others. While Saie's Slip Tint reduces any oily areas around my T-zone, it also lifts, brightens and adds a glowy finish to my complexion too, though it is not pearlescent or shimmery. While I opt for the light to medium shade on oily areas, I have also experimented using other shades as a bronzer on my cheeks, which was equally as effective in adding a pop of colour and definition to my cheeks without leaving me too shiny or one dimensional. This setting powder has been dermatologist tested, so it is safe to use on sensitive as well as blemish prone skin. Whether you sweep all over the face, or on select areas, is entirely up to you. Already Saie's Slip Tint has garnered an impressive 4.9 out of five stars from shoppers. Gloria's review read: 'I've been using this pressed powder and I'm seriously loving it. It gives me a natural finish without looking cakey. My skin still looks glowy like a soft, healthy glow, but not glittery or shimmery at all. It just looks like my skin, but better. I use it to set my make-up and it blends so nicely.' More Trending While Angie added: 'I enjoy this powder, it is light on my skin, doesn't not look powdery and it sets my make-up beautifully! I like how the shade is flexible since I'll be able to wear it once the season changes. There is no scent to it but there's some radiance to it, so this won't give you a matte look, which I appreciate since I have dry skin! it does not sit in my fine lines either!' A separate shopper, named Dahlia, echoed the same sentiment and shared: 'I am a huge powder girly and I've been looking for one that sets my makeup but doesn't look dry, especially under my eyes. I use it all over my face and under my eyes and it sets my makeup without taking away all the glow I want to keep. It looks really good under my eyes too and they finally don't appear crusty. The formula feels buttery almost! I love the compact and this will last me a long time since a little goes a long way.' Sold. 22 Tinted Sunscreens To Help Keep Your Skin Protected Every Day
1. Elta MD's wildly popular sunscreen — now in a tinted formula! The two flexible shades are formulated with ~Invisible Blend Technology~ so they won't leave behind a white cast and ruin your entire makeup look for the day. Speaking of which, reviewers mention that it never pills and is a great base for foundation! SPF: 40 Shades: Two (Light-Medium and Medium-Deep). Promising review:"I've been using this tinted facial sunscreen daily, and it's a great addition to my routine. The tint gives my skin a natural, sun-kissed glow without looking heavy or unnatural. It's not greasy at all, which is a big plus, especially for someone who dislikes that sticky sunscreen feel. While it doesn't provide foundation-like coverage (so it won't conceal acne or blemishes), it does even out my skin tone just enough to make me look fresh. It's great for a quick trip to the store!" — Meagan P. Get it from Amazon for $39.90+. 2. NYX's Buttermelt Glaze that's formulated with shea AND mango butter, so look no further if you want high moisture at a low price. It's meant to leave you looking as dewy as a "glazed donut," which is inarguably the best pastry to resemble. Amazon SPF: 30 Shades: 10 Promising review: "If you like a light feeling slightly dewy skin tint with an SPF, then this is it. It is light-to-medium coverage but buildable. Has a light scent and wears all day. It goes on pretty smoothly, and for the price, it's definitely worth a try. It was hard picking the correct shade, so I decided to go with one shade deeper than my usual shade since the product is so light and thin, and it worked perfectly." — Cheryl L. Get it from Amazon for $15.97. 3. Saie's Slip Tint, which combines the medium coverage of a skin tint with the hydration of a moisturizer. You'll get some hyaluronic acid for a boost of moisture, 100% mineral zinc oxide for skin protection, and a dewy tint that reviewers say blends like a dream. Amazon SPF: 35 Shades: 13 (including options for pink, peach, golden, neutral, neutral-red, olive, and red undertones) Promising review:"Amazed by how much this shade matched my skin tone. I have always liked mineral sunscreen formulas which is present in this tinted moisturizer. Coverage is about right, not full coverage nor sheer. Glad I found Saie as a whole, I would recommend this product." — Sydney Get it from Amazon for $36. 4. Naturium's Dew Glow Tinted Moisturizer for anyone who needs a super quick apply-with-your-fingers solution that still offers a nice dose of coverage. The sheer tint makes it ridiculously easy to blend, and the cap even doubles as a 1/4 teaspoon measuring cup, so you can be sure you're getting the recommended amount every day. That is genius and I'm now questioning why every sunscreen doesn't have this. Naturium, Amazon SPF: 50 Shades: Three (light, medium, and deep). Promising review:"I'm absolutely in love with this tinted moisturizer! It gives me the perfect even glow without ever looking orange or cakey. The formula is super hydrating, so there's no flaking or dry patches — just smooth, natural-looking skin. It blends seamlessly and feels so lightweight, I forget I'm even wearing it. If you're looking for a no-fuss product that enhances your complexion without overdoing it, this is the one. Perfect for everyday wear and gives that 'your skin but better' vibe. Highly recommend!" — Christine Get it from Amazon for $22.99. 5. A lightly tinted sunscreen from dermatologist-fave brand Cerave, which might be one of your best bets in the drugstore price range. There are only three shades to choose from, but each is designed to seamlessly blend into a variety of skin tones, so don't worry if it looks a little too light or dark out of the bottle. And like most Cerave products, you'll get some ceramides and niacinamide to soothe and restore your skin's natural barrier. SPF: 30 Shades: Three (light, medium, and deep). Promising review:"I'm Black, so of course, most sunscreens tend to give me a pale appearance when I put them on. That or they tend to irritate my eyes after a while... I found this sunscreen because I wanted something better for for me and it's awesome!! It doesn't leave me looking pasty or things like that. It also doesn't take a long time to blend in with my skin and doesn't irritate it or my eyes. It's great, and will buy again!" — Lovelylanna Get it from Amazon for $13.97+. 6. Fenty Beauty's Hydra Vizor Huez tinted moisturizer that'll have you glowing brightener than those diamonds RihRih was singing about. The real superstar ingredient here is the added niacinamide, which can help minimize the look of pores and dark spots. We love an SPF that's a double threat. Sephora SPF: 30 Shades: 10 Note: This doesn't come with a case! If this is your first time buying it, be sure to pick up the refill case for $6. You only have to buy it once, then you can just pick up a refill pack when you run out! Promising review:"I absolutely love this product— it goes on so smooth and creamy and has the lightweight feel of a moisturizer but still Covers what it needs to. I will be buying again when I run out! A little goes a long way and the color match is spot on." — glowwithamira Get it from Sephora for $43. 7. Supergoop! Glowscreen for anyone who wants a super glowy, lit-from-within complexion at all times. Better yet, it doubles as a makeup-gripping primer, so your glow will shine through your foundation while keeping you protected. SPF: 40 Shades: Four Promising review:"I've tried a lot of sunscreen and primers over the last year. I mean A LOT. My skin is super sensitive, acne-prone, and prone to dryness and redness. (Complicated, I know) This stuff doesn't feel heavy and moisturizes really well while not feeling like I'll break out later. It protected my skin from sunburn during six hours at Six Flags. I don't wear a ton of makeup, but the foundation and bronzer I wore didn't budge or crease. It makes your skin glow like [wild], which alone is a bit much for me, but under some foundation, it looks amazing! Def worth the buy and will buy again." — H.E. Get it from Amazon for $18+ (available in three sizes). 8. InnBeauty Project's Mineral Sun Glow that truly delivers on the glowy promises in its name. If you're tired of sunscreens making you look matte and flat, this was basically formulated just for you. You'll even get a dose of vitamin C to help brighten your skin tone and some peptides to plump and firm. Innbeauty Project SPF: 43 Shades: Three (Fair-Medium, Medium, Medium-Deep). Promising review: "I was initially a bit worried about the shade range, because mineral sunscreen is known to leave a ghostly white cast, but this blends right in with ZERO effort! I'm on my second tube and I don't intend on it being the last :)" — 4ppl3s Get it from Sephora for $35. 9. An affordable tinted BB cream from Australian Gold — it comes in three super versatile shades for light to deep skin tones. It's tinted enough to even your complexion when worn on its own, but it's also designed to wear super well under makeup — so go ahead and take that expensive primer you've been eyeing out of your cart. Amazon SPF: 50 Shades: Three (Fair-Light, Medium-Tan, Rich-Deep) Promising review:"I've tried many sunscreens over the years, but this has truly impressed me! It provides broad-spectrum SPF protection, keeping my skin safe from harmful UV rays without feeling greasy or heavy. The lightweight and fast-absorbing formula makes it perfect for daily wear, even under makeup. One of my favorite things about this sunscreen is that it doesn't leave a white cast, which is a huge plus for anyone with medium to deeper skin tones. It's also non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores or cause breakouts — a must-have for sensitive skin!" — Manideep Get it from Amazon for $9.99+. 10. A feather-weight tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier for anyone who can't stand the feeling of heavy, pasty sunscreen. You'll get SPF 30, hyaluronic acid for moisture, and a probiotic complex to help strengthen the skin barrier. The days of caking your face in goopy SPF during the dog days of summer are over. Sephora SPF: 30 Shades: 20, including options for cool, warm, and neutral undertones. Promising review:"I tried this skin tint and liked how well it worked with my dry skin. It blended effortlessly, felt hydrating, and gave a natural, radiant finish. It lasted all day — even through a quick gym session — without settling into fine lines or looking patchy. The scent of the tint is a little like sunscreen but pretty light in my opinion." — pumpkinspicey Get it from Sephora for $50 (eight of the shades are also available in a mini size for $25). 11. Live Tinted's Hueguard Skin Tint with a super sheer yet buildable finish, and one of the most magical-sounding ingredients I've ever encountered: 🦋 butterfly bush flower extract 🦋. It helps to prevent the breakdown of collagen (you know, the thing that keeps our skin plump and firm) and can help repair irritated skin. SPF: 50 Shades: 10 Promising review: " I LOVE this product! I use it daily and just purchased my third one. This evens out my skin, feels amazing, and leaves me glowing. Like for real, glowing like a sun-kissed little angel. It's the perfect middle between light and medium coverage. I don't like to wear foundation, but I do like to feel moisturized and protected from the sun without feeling greasy. This looks so natural and blends perfectly into my skin." — Danielle Get it from Amazon for $42. 12. A water-resistant ~Face Shield~ from Colorscience, which features tiny beads of pigment that "bloom" when you rub the product between your hands. The four shades are designed to be flexible to adapt to a variety of skin tones, and it's easily buildable if you like fuller coverage. SPF: 50 Shades: Four (Fair, Medium, Tan, and Deep) Promising review:"This has become my go-to for sun protection and foundation. Great for aging skin because it doesn't settle into your wrinkles, making it look obvious you're wearing makeup. My photos at my dermatologist show hardly any sun damage thanks to using this product. Great protection and covers redness." — Adriane Get it from Amazon for $54. 13. The Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer by the iconic Bare Minerals, which has racked up 20,000+ rave reviews on Amazon so far. It starts out sheer, but it's lightweight enough that you can build the coverage by adding an extra layer or two. Oh, and it features some olive-derived squalane to hydrate without feeling super heavy and greasy. SPF: 30 Shades: 20 Promising review:"I have been using the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer for 15 years, and it has been my go-to for the base of my makeup. I started using this in high school, and I still love it today! It is clean and lightweight, and I never feel cake-y at the end of a long day with this on. My skin is extremely sensitive, and I deal with hyperpigmentation, but I have never dealt with irritation or reactions with this. It is light coverage while still smoothing out my complexion. I like that it adds enough shade and smoothing to make me feel a bit less dull on days when I don't feel like wearing any makeup and how good of a base it is when applying more makeup." — Hannah C. Get it from Amazon for $23+ (available in two sizes). 14. It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream — reviewers say it truly lives up to its skin-enhancing claims. This is a great option if you're looking for a foundation-like full coverage formula, but still want something that doesn't feel super heavy on the skin. It's designed to color correct while adding coverage, and the niacinamide will help even out any dark spots over time. Amazon SPF: 50+ Shades: 29 (including options for neutral-peach, cool, cool rosy, warm, warm yellow, neutral, yellow, and cool red undertones). Promising review:"I think I've found my forever. The only change I'll have to make is a lighter color from summer to winter. It covers more than most CC or BB creams but is not as heavy as a full foundation. Stays put and doesn't accentuate my fine lines. It feels soft and dewy all day without being shiny. The consistency goes on evenly and doesn't need much blending (other than out of my silver hairline), and there were so many shades that it's a great match. It's a quality formulation that saves me time and gives me peace of mind each day because it goes on quick and easy and doesn't need messing with again other than a quick brush of translucent powder on my T-zone halfway through my day." — Kristy G. Get it from Amazon for $47. 15. The Anthelios Tinted Sunscreen from beloved French pharmacy brand La Roche-Posay. This one is oil-free, so it's super duper lightweight and extra friendly to your pores. Some reviewers have even had luck using it to cover redness from rosacea and irritation. Lightweight with decent coverage?? I believe we've finally found the actual definition of je ne sais quoi. SPF: 40+ Shades: Four ("Tinted" is the lightest, medium, medium-deep, and deep. Also available in an un-tinted formula) Promising review:"This is the best tinted sunscreen I have ever tried. It comes out of the bottle in a dark tan, but it somehow manages to blend into many skin tones (I'm very pale and white). It makes me look as if I have no visible makeup or sunscreen on, but it evens out my skin tone so perfectly that its no-makeup quality acts like the best makeup. I will sometimes throw a little bronzer on top of Anthelios Tinted Sunscreen for contouring, but that isn't wholly necessary because another nice thing about the finish is that it doesn't make you look unnaturally blank, with your face in a single solid color, as foundation alone usually does." — Professor R. Get it from Amazon for $39.99. 16. Honest Beauty's CCC Tinted Moisturizer — in the words of Ashley Tisdale, it's "so Jessica Alba fantastic." Wondering what those three Cs stand for? Clean, Corrective, and (vitamin) C! It's made without parabens, talc, and synthetic fragrances (hence the "clean"), helps even your skin tone (hence the "corrective"), and then there's the vitamin C to brighten your skin with continued use. SPF: 30 Shades: 9 Promising review:"I never write reviews, but I was so excited when I tried this product that I just had to. It's daily sunscreen but with motivation because it makes your skin look great... It doesn't run or smear — if it rubs off from sweating, etc., it's in a very natural-looking way. It also doesn't feel like I have too much 'stuff' on my face, which is an issue I often have with mineral sunscreen (this is partly because I only use one pump for my whole face). I will be buying this again and again. So thankful I found this, it's the perfect product for me!" — Anonymous Get it from Amazon for $13.28+. 17. A L'Oréal foundation-sunscreen hybrid that's so hydrating, it also triples as a serum! It's formulated with vitamin B3 and aloe leaf juice powder to increase hydration, as well as SPF 50 for some extra sun protection. These are some Sephora-worthy ingredients at a drugstore price point. SPF: 50+ Shades: 29 Promising review: "Ladies over 50, listen up! I used to wear a powder foundation I loved, but then I noticed I was getting too old for powder. I was so discouraged as I was looking for liquid foundation — they all looked orange and cakey on me and settled into my fine lines. I had just about given up on the idea of foundation until I found this! It's amazing! Matches and blends in with my skin flawlessly and moisturizes and smoothes my wrinkles! I'm so excited I found it!" — Kol Rinah Get it from Amazon for $14.17+. 18. Tower 28 SunnyDays Tinted Sunscreen Foundation — don't let the "foundation" in its name fool you; reviewers say this is super silky and lightweight on the skin. If you go for this one, you'll treat your face to some white sage extract to soothe and aloe vera to calm any redness and irritation. Sephora SPF: 30 Shades: 17 (including options for pink, yellow, neutral, warm, peach, golden, olive, and red undertones) Promising review:"I've been looking for a tinted sunscreen for so long and have been through so many brands. After reading an article about this product, I went ahead and purchased. This is what I've tirelessly been looking for! Covers just enough, makes me dewy, and provides SPF 30 protection. I will be a lifetime consumer!" — KWally21 Get it from Sephora for $30. 19. A brightening skin tint from Tula if you want your skin to shine brighter than the sun you're trying to protect yourself from. It's formulated with the brand's 🌈 Rainbow Seabright Elixir 🌈 to boost your skin's radiance and even out your skin tone. Tula Skincare / Via Ulta SPF: 30 Shades: 30 (including options for cool, neutral-cool, neutral, warm, neutral-warm, and olive undertones) Promising review: " As someone with sensitive skin who doesn't like the feeling or look of base products but needs them to help tone down redness and hyperpigmentation — this is a winner. It melts into my skin and is completely undetectable, doesn't settle into pores or fine lines AT ALL, doesn't pill, has the perfect amount of coverage (somewhere between light and medium) and leaves my skin looking healthy and vibrant without being overly shiny or dewy. The shades are expansive — 4 is a perfect match for my fair/light slightly yellow/olive skin, a very hard tone to match." — LisaK Get it from Amazon and Ulta for $42 (Ulta has the full range available, Amazon has 22 shades available). 20. Alleyoop Sunsational Tinted Moisturizer that combines the coverage of a foundation, the lightweight texture of a serum, and the protection of a sunscreen all in one. Its jojoba esters and rice bran extract help it hydrate while still maintaining its gel-like texture. Also, the name Alleyoop is just weirdly fun to say. Amazon SPF: 50 Shades: 12 Promising review: "I bought this for the summer because of the SPF. I have gotten rid of all my other skin tints because this one does everything you could need and more." — Anthony B Get it from Amazon for $32. 21. The super sleek SilkScreen, which is designed to give you a barely-there hint of color while enhancing your natural glow (which you have plenty of!!! ✨). This one packs in some soothing licorice root extract, so it's a good choice for super-sensitive skin that's prone to redness or irritation. 22. A multitasking BB cream from Korean beauty brand that conceals redness and uneven skin tone, moisturizes with glycerin, and protects your skin's barrier with niacinamide. But don't panic when you first apply it! Some reviewers say it doesn't blend in immediately, but once it dries it'll sheer out to a super light finish that's perfect on those no-makeup-makeup days. Amazon
