95.86% candidates clear AP ICET
According to the results released by the Andhra University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. GP Raja Sekhar, in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, out of 37,572 applicants, 34,131 candidates appeared for the entrance examination held on May 7 in two sessions. Of these, 32,719 candidates qualified. The examination was conducted across 94 test centres, including 93 in Andhra Pradesh and one in Hyderabad.
Among the 34,131 candidates who appeared, 15,863 were male and 18,268 were female. A total of 15,176 male candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 95.66%. Of the female candidates, 17,543 cleared the test, with a slightly higher pass percentage of 96.03%.
Manoj Meka from Visakhapatnam secured the first rank with a top score of 197.914 marks. Dwarakacharla Sandeep Reddy from YSR Kadapa secured second rank with 179.5174 marks, followed by Sakala Krishna Sai from NTR district with 178.5175 marks. Valluri Sairam Satvik from Hyderabad attained the fourth rank with a score of 175.6945 marks.
Ravuri Madhurya from Guntur, the only female candidate in the top five, secured fifth rank with 175.4529 marks. Sheik Bashirunnisa from Anakapalli ecured sixth rank with 175.3132. Valipi Ajay Kumar, who secured the seventh rank in the ICET 2025 with 174.1794 marks, completed his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIIT, Sri City during 2018-2022.
He is currently preparing for UPSC and APPSC competitive examinations. Hailing from Tirupati district, his father works as a head constable at the Gajulamandyam Police Station. Notably, Ajay secured the 1st rank in the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) region. The AP ICET-2025 was conducted by Andhra University on behalf of the APSCHE to facilitate admissions into MBA and MCA courses across the state.
Taking to X, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh wrote, 'Congratulations to all the students who qualified in AP ICET 2025! 32,719 out of 34,131 students qualified (95.86%). My best wishes for your bright academic future!!'

One might expect a software engineer to develop an AI-driven system or a sleek app, but Jayachandran chose a different path. He set out to create something simple, tangible, and physical — a tool one could hold, roll, and interact with directly, free from screens and algorithms. 'I was inspired by the Montessori method of education in Kalakshetra Foundation, where children would play with physical objects and learn. That caught my attention during my tenure as a faculty member. Especially the cubes, the building blocks, and the dice. So the idea of a cube was always in the back of my head. I decided to use it and stick postures to each face of the cube,' he explains. According to Jayachandran, who along with several other dance teachers, used the tool on their students for his research, the combinations of movement that emerged made it seem like different forms of dance. Some felt like Ballet, some like our Tamil folk dances, some Mohiniattam, some Bharathanatyam, and so on. Although it developed from the idea of helping his beginner-level students take interest in dance, especially his students who had a dance course at IIIT-Hyderabad, the tool, he says, now offers more to advanced practitioners. 'It is helping practitioners to compose new dance moves. What was a teaching tool for students, has become a tool for the teachers today,' he concludes.

CSE, AI seats grabbed like hot cakes by engineering students in Telangana
HYDERABAD: Computer Science and IT-related courses have once again emerged as the top choice for engineering students in the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test-2025 (TG EAPCET), according to the final phase seat allotment results released on Sunday. These courses — including specialisations like Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Cybersecurity with Blockchain Technology and others — recorded a 91% seat allotment, with 59,819 seats filled. Out of 91,649 total engineering seats across 180 colleges (156 private, 21 university, and two private universities), 80,011 seats were allotted, leaving 11,638 vacant. Fifty-one colleges — five universities and 46 private — achieved 100% admissions. A total of 6,085 candidates secured seats under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota. Of the 97,369 candidates who attended certificate verification, 40,837 exercised web options. While Computer Science and IT branches saw strong demand, 3,636 seats in Electrical and Electronics Engineering remained vacant. Mechanical and Civil Engineering branches struggled, with only 68.22% of 7,675 seats allotted. Candidates allotted seats must self-report online and pay the tuition fee at by August 12, 2025. Failure to pay, self-report, or report in person will result in cancellation of the allotment. Those reporting in person can participate in the centralised internal sliding on August 18 and 19 to change branches within their college, with fee reimbursement applicable for eligible candidates
