7 Celtic transfer headlines as summer window explodes with bargain Balikwisha, Greg Taylor successor and £2m trade off

The moves in the market are ramping up at Celtic Park
It has been a quiet summer so far for Celtic - but there are set to be players reaching for the pens soon.
Brendan Rodgers is set to land Fulham striker Callum Osmand as well as Norwegian winger Benjamin Nygren to follow up on Kieran Tierney 's sensational return to Glasgow's east end.

But it's unlikely to slow down for the Hoops with Champions League qualifiers just around the corner.

The Scottish Premiership champions could bring in some new faces - as well as move some fringe men out of the door.
But who is on the agenda? Record Sport takes a look.
Callum Osmand
The Fulham striker is set to become one of the first names in the building this summer - but former Craven Cottage striker Ross McCormack has raised concerns about the deal.
He told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard a deal could spell the end of Johnny Kenny's Celtic career. He said: 'If you sign a striker, then, of course, Daizen Maeda would go left wing.
'If you can only get a left winger, and can't get a striker that you want, then Daizen Maeda plays through the middle.

'What this does, for me, the young boy Osmand, who is coming from Fulham. It probably doesn't look good if you are Johnny Kenny.
'You are a young boy, and they have gone out and signed another sort of young striker. You are wondering what path his career is going to take now.
'If you only play one up front, there is no point in carrying a squad with four out-and-out strikers, let us be honest.'

Luis Palma
While fringe men like Kenny could be facing an exit, Luis Palma faces an uncertain future after Olympiacos refused to pick up the £3.5million option-to-buy in his contract.
Honduran outlet El Heraldo report the Hoops are desperate to move the winger on this summer and will "drop" the asking price to around £2million with suitors in Greece showing interest.
Benjamin Nygren
With a price tag reportedly placed on Palma, that could now be spent on Benjamin Nygren - who has just six months remaining on his Nordsjaelland contract.

Reports suggest a £2million fee is on the cards with negotiations ongoing - but sporting director Phil Radley has hinted the club are in no rush to sell.
Speaking to Danish outlet TV2 Radley said: 'There is a lot of focus on FC Nordsjælland's big transfers.
"We also have a big history with players who are here until the end of their contract, where they have contributed with 100-200 matches. What these players have contributed on the pitch is just as important as the big transfers.'

Michael Ange-Balikwisha
Despite chasing a deal for Nygern, Royal Antwerp winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha is also on the shortlist.
And Voetbal 24 report that a bargain could be in the offing amid a fire sale for the Belgian side.
It is said that sporting director Marc Overmars "won't hesitate" to cash-in with the club desperate to fill a £18million black hole in their finances.

Greg Taylor
Greg Taylor has yet to decide his future with his Celtic contract rapidly approaching an end.
The Celtic left-back is weighing up his options ahead of his current Parkhead deal expiring this month - with Rodgers previously stating he is keen to keep the Scotland cap and see him battle it out with Tierney.

But both PAOK and FC Copenhagen are said to be chasing a deal for the soon-to-be free agent. Despite the Danes ability to offer the 27-year-old Champions League football, News Fire report PAOK are "confident" Taylor will follow Jonjoe Kenny and agree a contract with the club.
Keita Kosugi
Djurgarden wonderkid Keita Kosugi has been tipped as a potential successor should Taylor depart.
The 19-year-old left-back has opened up on his targets for the future away from the Swedish side.

But Djurgården's sporting director Bosse Andersson has hinted a bumper price tag could be placed on the rising star.
He told Sportbladet: 'There has been quite a lot of interest in Keita Kosugi. Many have been here and looked around. Good Japanese players are highly valued."
Marco Tilio
He has spent most of his Celtic career away from the club on loan at Melbourne City, and the club are keen to extend that deal beyond the summer.
Melbourne City's director of football Michael Petrillo has revealed discussions are ongoing with the Hoops.
'We're still negotiating whether he stays another year or goes to Europe. We hope he stays another year.'

John Souttar Rangers injury latest after recent surgery

However, while he may be present in the building, Souttar will play no part in training, having undergone a hernia operation in London last week. Souttar played the season to its conclusion for Rangers before pulling on a Scotland jersey in the latest set of international fixtures in June. While the timing of his surgery is perhaps surprising, Souttar is understood to be on track to return to first-team training in enough time to prepare him for the Champions League second-round qualifier against Panathinaikos. The first leg against the Greek side will take place at Ibrox on either July 22 or 23, with the Glasgow giants travelling for the return leg a week later.

Hibs Europa League fate predicted as dismissive Midtjylland boss makes bold assessment

The Danish boss is fully expecting his team to get the job done against the capital club next month Bold Midtjylland boss Thomas Thomasberg is supremely confident that his side will end Hibs ' hopes of qualifying for the group phase of the Europa League by dumping them out at the first time of asking. David Gray 's men were dealt a tough hand in Wednesday's second qualifying round draw when they were paired against a side that reached the knockout stage of the competition last season. ‌ Midtjylland boast a host of international players among their ranks including Poland forward Adam Buksa and Switzerland's one-time Rangers ' loanee Kevin Mbabu. ‌ Thomasberg led Midtjylland to the Superliga title in 2024 and only missed out on retaining their championship last season to rivals Copenhagen by a single point. The Jutland club will host the Hibees on July 24 at the MCH Arena before making the trip to Leith seven days later. The winner of the tie will progress to the third qualifying round while the loser will drop into the Conference League qualifying section at the same stage. But ex Randers manager Thomasberg is in no doubt that his team will be the ones celebrating over the two legs. He told TV2 Sport: "Yes, of course we will. ‌ "This is the first step towards that, so we have to make a really good attempt at that. We will also advance to the next round in the Europa League. Despite his confident prediction, the 50-year-old insists they will do their homework on Hibs. "Well, of course I know what Scottish football stands for," he added. ‌ "There is some speed, some physicality in the game, but we need to take a closer look at the team itself and how they do it now, and we have plenty of time for that." He looked to be reviving his fortunes, notching four goals and six assists in 17 games for Unai Emery's men But Rashford is keen on returning to a Champions League platform next term. And ahead of their campaign in Europe's to domestic cup competition, Newcastle need to strengthen up top. Callum Wilson, 33, is being monitored by Everton and Saudi clubs, although he could yet stay at St James' Park. Meanwhile, Chelsea won the £30m race for Ipswich frontman Liam Delap. So a swoop for a player of Rashford's experience - not to mention his desperation to impress ahead of the World Cup - could suit both parties.
